I smashed my knee on my desk bike and left a huge bruise... i almost NEVER bruise, so I hit it pretty hard. It doesn't work with my desk here... I am in the queue to get a movable station for my computer and keyboard so I can sit/stand to work. that will allow me to raise the desk so that I can bike, but will take a couple of weeks. In the meantime, I took the bike home with intentions of using it while watching TV, however it slides across the rug! I tried putting weights in front of it, nothing worked. i think I have a solution that I will try tonight.

This one is pretty heavy duty. It doesn't slide at all.

The office manager finally got back to me on the under desk bike. Nope, not allowed. Honestly, if I hadn't asked, she probably would've never noticed. I'm not too bummed. I will never be one of those people who enjoys exercising and misses it when they skip the gym or whatever. Crazy zealots I look forward to the days I can be lazy, and to me the whole exercise thing is just a drudgery to be gotten through.
This week:
Did much better, and I'm feeling better about how it's going, too.
Gym: did four days, so met my goal Flights: did 215, so exceeded my goal by 15
Hope everyone else's week went well, too!

I brought my bike to work on Friday and I really like it. It is pretty quiet. I am pleased with it. Now to see how much I use it.

I am so in love with the weather we are having this weekend! yesterday we drove out of the city to a state park to hike the canyons with some friends. It was muddy and messy and took quite a bit of maneuvering, but it was fun. We climbed tons of stairs to the overlooks. we did about 6 miles and about 40 flights of stairs. LOVED it! Today is super windy, but sunny and warm again. I've already been out walking and am at about 5k steps for the day as of noon. I have some food prep to do and then I am going to head out for more walking. I am sure I will pay for it this week, the warm up the wind... it all kicks up those allergens, but for now I am going to ENJOY!

Crawling back to this thread with my tail between my legs. I haven't been on a scale in a good 8 months, but I'm guessing just by looking at me and by the fact that I needed to buy new jeans recently that I gained back all the weight (and then some) that I lost last year. I've been in denial about this for awhile and it's time to do something. Downloading the myfitnesspal app to my phone today.

Well I have gained a couple pounds. My sugar addiction is out of control. I watched Fed Up on Netflix this weekend, and I think I'm finally ready to do something about it. I'm attempting a 10 day sugar detox starting today. The documentary is mostly geared to childhood obesity, but it was eye opening for me as well. I recommend watching it if you struggle with sweets.

I guess this just shows that this has to really be a lifestyle change and not just a temporary change. There in lies the big struggle. Sent from my SM-G920T using proboards

As an aside, is it just me that can't imagine just up and quitting my job? First drama's husband, now yours. I cannot imagine a situation outside of a really, really egregious ethical violation that would make me come home and be like "I quit my job today honey, k?"
WTF?

I did it when I had first graduated college though. I had very few bills though. I had been working as a restaurant hostess. Hours and money weren't working out to what they promised. I took myself back to the temp agency the next week and got myself a $2/hr raise and 40 hours a week. Ten years later though? Oh hell no!!

Hugs sarcasticgirlFebruary was a good month as far as steps went. Hit the goal of 300,000. Weight not so much. Yesterday was one of those days where I could not get enough sugar. Today is a new day. Need to have better food choices. Meeting a former co-worker at lunch to get in a few steps. Have a great day everyone.

Stress can definitely do wonders for weight loss. Unfortunately it usually doesn't last. Dh lost 20 pounds the first month after the girls were born. He gained it all back after we settled in to the new normal.
Five days with no sweets! I honestly don't think this has ever happened before in my adult life. It's not having an impact on my weight, but it's still a good thing.

Well financialpeace, I know where your sweets went - right into my mouth. I was an eating machine this week! And it just makes me feel like crap; I don't know why I do it. Anyway, I did do well on my goals this week.
Made it to the gym 4 days Climbed 245 flights of stairs Weight is holding steady at 4 pounds lost
Not counting eating all the jellybeans and donuts people brought into work this week, I'm feeling good. 1.5 months until I have to be in a swimsuit.

so much for this move by DH aiding in me dropping weight! HA! I have been stress eating everything I can get my hands on all week. It sucks because I had just gotten a handle on my stress eating at work. HAHA isn't life hilarious.
but- DH has some side work right now and we've gone through the budget and he should be bringing in enough to cover what my pay can't so we don't have to blow through savings.
Our biggest budget buster is food. so I am doing major planning and doing my best to minimize any waste. I've spent a few hours in the kitchen prepping food for the week.
I am feeling more in control now... so hopefully the out of control snacking will be better this week.
I also figured out the cause of my neck pain and have been able to correct it, so now i am not in ridiculous pain nearly every single day and i feel like I can handle more strenuous workouts!
Ladies giving up the sugar- i need to be back on this bandwagon. i've been sneaking it in here and there and i can tell that the addiction is back. HATE IT! must get back off the sugar.

Not a good week. Caught some virus that has zapped all my energy but not my appetite. Suffice to say missed step goal by a mile.
Since I am still not 100% I think my step goal will be 50,000.

Sorry that you've been sick ners! it's that time of year for sure My office is starting a health and wellness competition. I work for a pretty huge law firm, but it is just the Chicago office competing... of the like 4000 people here, i doubt 1/4 will join. And there are real big prizes given our regularly. So, I joined and am ready to roll. Time to get back on track. We've sprung forward... there is more daylight in the evening and the temps are warmer. Time to get ready for summer clothes!!! Goal one is to ditch this 6 pounds of winter weight. Keep steps consistent- at least 5 days of 10k steps. Work on core.

I've had a rough couple of weeks - being sick (like 4 days off work in 2 weeks sick), crazy work stuff like conferences and fancy dinners. Haven't had much time with my love, Deskbike. Thought I'd be up like crazy , but apparently not. Anyway, broke the 220 barrier. I'm now down 15 lbs from starting in january. Feeling mostly human again and vaguely healthy, so back at work and on the bike. Even if I'm only doing an hour a day for a bit it's still something. Onward and downward!

UGH! sorry you haven't been feeling well... but congrats on the loss! Any loss in the dreaded winter months is a big WIN in my book. Hell... maintaining during the first 3-4 months is nearly impossible for me. Keep on rocking... or pedaling!
