i got the original one that Pants bought... the $30ish one. I can't swing the $100+ version. I just bought euro plane tickets, got DH a passport and sent mine in for renewal. pinching pennies! Ok- i got it in today! it takes a little getting used to, and I have to adjust my desk a bit... but I like it! it certainly gets the blood flowing and warms to up... which is great because I am always freezing! Two of my workers are interested now! Definitely a conversation topic! And yeah, totally keeps me warm!!!

My massage therapist says I have bad circulation and need more exercise. As I sit here with cold toes. It's a work in progress. I try to move at work but then they also pay me to have my ass in seat doing work. Desk bike! This is now my solution to everything I think.

I work in a federal building and they are super strict on that stuff. I'm sure they would find it to be a safety hazard. They banned exercise balls a few years ago. And everything I bring in with me has to go through the x-ray machine. I doubt the guards would let it slide.

Interesting. I'll have to dig and see if I can find the policy. I need to go to the parking office anyway. They probably know since they are linked to security.
It's insanity sometime. If we do a party you have to get a permission slip for a crockpot.

Week 7
Ugh seven weeks already? Now I'm depressed. I would have thought by now I'd see some changes in my legs. I don't see any difference. I'm concentrating on weights at the gym and doing the heaviest ones I can while still being able to keep the right form. No little five-pounders or just strolling along sedately on the treadmill for me. I'm working hard I tells ya!!! And I'm losing motivation, which shows, because I haven't hit my goals for the last three weeks. Maybe I should just start shopping for muumuus to wear all summer.
So this week:
Goal of 200 flights of stairs, did 200 Goal of four days at the gym, did three.

So I bought the cheaper under desk bike this weekend. It should be here on Wednesday. If I like it/use it, I will spring for the pricier version.

Did you take measurements or photos? those are usually way better for me when it comes to weight lifting. the scale takes FOREVER to move, but the body starts changing. It takes longer, but I feel like once it starts, it progresses quickly. Don't give up! How do you FEEL compared to when you started?

Thanks sarcasticgirl, I won't give up, just feeling a bit bummed that changes aren't happening as quickly as I'd like. But shorts season will come whether I'm nicely toned or not, so better to keep working on it than give up.
I didn't take measurements or pictures, though I might now just for a baseline to measure from.

I've gained a little since starting, so hopefully I'm just getting my muscle back! I didn't need to lose weight, so it's ok and I won't freak out about a couple pounds (though more than that and I will!). DH probably could stand to lose about 10lbs and since we've started he's already lost 8. JERK! Seriously?! I'm glad he's seeing results though, it's the only way he'll keep working out with me .

so, i had a horrible food weekend. fighting PMS, wasn't feeling well and just ate a lot of crap I shouldn't have. and of course... it only made me feel worse!
SO- slate wiped clean- getting things back on track starting yesterday. So far, doing better. dropped 1.8 pounds of water weight since yesterday. I was feeling SOOOO bloated so I spent the day yesterday drinking tons of water and making 3903845093485 trips to the bathroom LOL
we recently booked our airfare and one of our accommodations for our Fall euro-trip. it is still 220 days away but between now and then, I have to build stamina where I can spend the entire day roaming the city- climbing the stairs of the arc di triomphe or whatever it is I want to explore, and not be wiped out opting for an early night in, and a lazy day the next day.
oh- and the smaller my clothes are, the lighter my luggage will be! or, the more I can pack. ha!
oh, and the less $$ I spend on snacks and buying breakfast in our cafe... the more I save for tapas and pastries and baguettes while abroad!

I have to KILL myself to drop 10 pounds. HMPH!

Other than the exercise the only other modification he did was stop snacking at night other than weekends (this is my arbitrary rule for myself). Again, I'm not going to complain because it helps with my self control if he isn't sitting right next to me eating peanuts or whatever but still, in some ways very frustrating.

I got an under desk elliptical that I am using like a bike, and I think it will change my life. I've already done 3 miles today and I just set it up 30 minutes ago. My heartrate is up a bit, so I'm not getting sweaty or anything, but this has to be burning some calories, right? Thanks for the idea Pants!!

The thing that DH says to me that I hate the very most is, "I only have 900 calories left for dinner." Makes me want to punch him in the face.

So I've figured out a new weight loss plan: travel to a Caribbean island, spend one day drinking too much, the next eating something that doesn't agree with you, and on day 3 have terrible gastrointestinal distress. Ugh! I thought I was dying last night, but now I feel hungry for dinner so that's a step in the right direction. I'm glad I packed a belt-being dehydrated means my shorts are loose today Oh, and I HATE how my DH can lose weight by just thinking about it. Pisses me right off!!

Preserve marital happiness and all that by you not punching him. He totally deserves it though. Yeah I got a bad allergic reaction topped by food poisoning and lost 10 pounds in two days. I also was way into the see a doctor territory but I was on work travel halfway across the country.

How accurate do you think the calorie counter is on it? I think I probably did 300 calories on it today, and I just set it up at lunch. I'm so excited because I actually feel like I got a workout in. My abs even hurt for some reason. I'll take it!

Do they make noise? I really don't want a conversation starter, especially with female coworkers about anything that could be remotely related to losing weight. But...I do want to get a lot more activity in which is tough when I sit on my ass all day.

Of course I say this because I'm feeling better, tho DH of course has the illness today and he's being miserable and pissy. But to be missing the cold and snow at home? Totally worth it!

I was like 10 days out from gallbladder removal surgery when I was in Punta Cana. I'd much rather recover in the Caribbean than at home!!
