After a couple of days chugging water I've dropped the weight I gained on vacation, so was probably edema/swelling from flying. I get bad swelling so that's not a surprise. Overall, I've dropped 10lbs since I started tracking calories - just over 2 weeks. I've been eating 2000 calories or more every day, so I mostly credit this to desk bike and just being aware of what I'm putting in my mouth. Between vacation and diet my breastmilk supply has dropped by a ton, so now I'm working on getting it back up. This means cookies and dark beer, so it's unlikely the downward trend will continue - or at least as quickly. I can definitely tell a difference in clothes though - my pants are fitting better and I've dropped from size 2X to 1X. I am hoping that desk bike will let me keep working towards a healthier me, even though I'm consciously having to eat more to get my supply up and provide food for the bebe. We shall see...

Great job everyone! So, I have been stress eating for a while now, and I have gained a few pounds. Biggest problem is that our weekends have been busy and I haven't been prepped with good snacks or lunches I really like.
So, right now I have a huge pot of my favorite minestrone simmering on the stove. I added extra beans to bulk it up. And I have my favorite black bean hummus, some veggies, fruit, dried fruit and nuts. And of course my dark chocolate. I am starting some kickboxing dvds today too. Spring is around the corner... and summer is coming! I have some clothes I want to fit in by then, and right now everything i normally wear is starting to feel snug!

Great job pants!
I'm still struggling with my eating at work. I have a lot of stress and unhappiness with my job right now, and I'm an emotional eater. My plans fly out the window within an hour of arriving usually. I need to find other coping mechanisms.
132.4 today

I've been thinking about this all night...now I want an under the desk bike. You really, really do. Really. It's awesome. I'm finishing up my 58th minute biking for the day, and it's only 11:13. *Note: if you don't have an adjustable desk that goes up and down, might be worth getting one of the lower-profile, more expensive options. Have you noticed any change by using the bike? Are your muscles sore, etc.? I would like to try one, but am having a hard time pulling the trigger.

Alright, I've had a horrible cough since the beginning of the year, but I feel like this week I can finally start working out without hacking up a lung. I'm going to start my 5k runner program again. I really want to get into running. Starting is just so hard!

Yup, muscles are def sore - quads and calves, even up to my abs.

Well, had a rough start to the week - there were freaking cronuts in the bullpen, and I ate one and then realized they were 1300 calories each. Ugh. Anyway, hit 3 hours of pedaling today to try and work a bit of it off. If I can do 3 hours in a day I'm doing pretty well, I figure.
Did a whole bunch of home cooking this weekend, so set for meals for the week. Back on track and getting my workouts on. Even just the mild workouts at work are awesome because I have no time or energy at home with 2 little ones.

Pants, I have a keyboard tray that's mounted under my desk bc in short. Do you think one of those bike things would work with that?

Pants - are you still liking the bike? I have one in my cart on amazon. I am having a hard time, for some reason, spending that much money on one.

Week 6 check in: Goals: 4 days at the gym - made it 3 times 150? 200? flights of stairs (I'll have to go back and look, can't remember now what number I settled on) - did 220 4 pounds lost Pants does the under desk bike make much noise? I asked my office manager if I could have one (she's a complete control freak about what we can have in our cubicles). If it's at all noisy I know she won't allow it. Thanks!

Yes, still loving the bike. I want one for home as well sitting on the couch! Thinking about going all in on the expensive one for work and bringing the cheap one home for my desk. It only makes noise when my knees hit my desk. Otherwise it's pretty silent, a very slight whirring. The more expensive ones ones are supposed to be even quieter.

I mentioned the bike to DH, and he'd like to get one. Thanks for the tip, ladies!
I'd done pretty well making it to the gym this week. I only missed Wed and Fri. However, I have had SO MUCH SUGAR this week!!! Yesterday was crazy cakes because of Valentine's Day and working with kids.
I'm not even going to weigh myself until tomorrow.

We completed the 2nd week of working out together 3x each week. Last night we did a JM video. Good suggestion sarcasticgirl, it totally reminded me of some of the aerobic classes I used to do and I was fairly tired after 30 mins (and I used to do 2 hours of that stuff like nothing). I feel like it's already lifting my mood a little, mostly because I feel like I've accomplished a goal.

I got hand foot mouth disease from my kids last week. It included a sore throat like nothing I've ever experienced before. I couldn't eat or drink much. I was hoping I'd at least lose some weight because of it, but not really. 130.8 today.
Yogii - I kind of forgot about the mood boosting effects of exercise. I could really use some of that. Really need to find a way to fit some into my schedule!
Happy Valentine's Day everyone.

Pulled the trigger on the fancier smaller desk bike. Will bring the other home for weekend use on the couch. Hate how sedentary we are on weekends but with 2 young kids and a house to keep, food to cook, etc. it's hard to carve out time to do much else. Hoping this helps.
In other news making beef stew again today. it's not the lowest calorie food but it's filling as hell and it's just SO COLD right now soup and stew are all I want to eat. And I bought some dip for veggies at the store a couple weeks ago with Greek yogurt and olives. It was ok but I thought I could do better making it myself with Greek yogurt, olives from the olive bar and some feta. Yup! delicious and not terrible for you.

I think I'm finally going to have to admit that I'm sick. Everyone at work has been sick and now I think it's made it's way to me. And, I leave for vacation on Friday. WAAAAH! What are the chances my dermatologist, who I am seeing this afternoon, will take pity on me and prescribe me something? I'm a walking snot factory right now!
To keep this related to fitness, I have no energy to work out. BUT, I also have no appetite, so I'm down 3 pounds on the scale. Small win, right??!

It's definitely hard but we do it after the kids go to bed. Getting over that first week is rough but I found I get disappointed in myself if I skip a planned day. Skipping a week derails me indefinitely, so I really need to try hard and stay on track.

I am in such a winter funk. Seriously, I need warm weather! This is why we go to st. Croix in February. I just want sunshine and warmth.
I have to get myself out of this. I am up 5 pounds, my clothes are starting to get tight. I feel miserable. Ugh!

Winter is just so hard. Commutes and roads can be crappy giving me even less motivation to hit the gym.

Ok- i got it in today! it takes a little getting used to, and I have to adjust my desk a bit... but I like it! it certainly gets the blood flowing and warms to up... which is great because I am always freezing! Two of my workers are interested now!

My massage therapist says I have bad circulation and need more exercise. As I sit here with cold toes. It's a work in progress. I try to move at work but then they also pay me to have my ass in seat doing work.
