I was briefly excited yesterday when I saw that I was number one in a step challenge with a group of random people. Until I realized that it was because it was the start of a new week and a new challenge...and the only reason I was number one is because I'm a night owl and was cleaning my house and everyone else had no steps because they were asleep like normal people. I'm at number 4 now, almost tied for number 3...there may be hope for me yet!

I did pretty well on food this weekend. I mean, weirdly, because I ate like a dozen cookies yesterday. But on the weekend, I just don't snack. I sit down, eat a couple big meals, and that's it. With 2 kids on the go now, honestly, I understand when people tell me they are so busy they forget to eat. I never thought it was actually possible, but I will frequently forget to eat on the weekend until I'm dizzy and full-out hangry. Which, not ideal. Gonna work on being better about that.
Didn't cook anything this weekend, so the cupboard is pretty bare. (By cupboard I mean freezer.) Didn't even get to the grocery store until after kids were in bed last night. Had DH pick up some chicken sausage, pesto and zucchini, so will make zoodles with pesto and chicken sausage and fresh mozzarella. If we run out of that, well, there's always buying lunch at work.

SUNSHINE AND WARMTH! SUNSHINE AND WARMTH! I can tell that it is giving me energy and some happiness! i didn't get a ton of steps in this weekend, since we were busy and had friends over and I had other things to do. But DH and I did get out for a nice walk yesterday. I got off the train early this morning and walked to and extra 6ish blocks to work. will probably do the same thing on the way home and then go for a nice walk with the dog. I don't have kids to chase after... but like Pants- I don't eat a ton on the weekends. But I get into work this morning and eat so freaking much. seriously. WTF is with me an this place?!?! I have 2.5 weeks before I fly to texas and visit my family and I need to be able to fit comfortably in my summer clothes.

The sunshine and warm weather here is definitely helping my things! I was a conference last week and ate like crap but got a crap-ton of steps in, so maybe it balances?? I spent most of yesterday outside moving around-a run in the morning and then a long walk with my DH in the afternoon. And of course, DH wanted to eat "good food" yesterday, not salads and omelets like I was hoping for, so food was only marginally better than the conference food. I'm in the middle of a step challenge at work, so I'm hoping yesterday put me over the top (or at least in the top 5). Still need to log last week's steps and then, because we have the worlds oldest system for logging steps, I'll know TOMORROW, if I moved up. Whatever, I'm taking a walk at lunch today just to enjoy the sun.

You know how they suggest to brush your teeth or use mouthwash because it kills your cravings to eat? Well, it's true but I also like to drink hot tea in the AM. I recently bought mint tea on accident and surprisingly it seems to have the same effect. Nothing really sounds good or tastes good with it. Just a thought!

Woohoo! I finally experienced some version of a runner's high. It only took around a year. It didn't last long, but it was better than what I've felt during runs previously. Which range from "This sucks and I need to run out in traffic to end this agony" to "It's not that bad, you're getting healthier, stop whining!"

OMG I'm dying. I spent the last 3 days home from work and on the couch. Today, I feel slightly better but am SO GLAD it's not a work day. I feel the worse first thing in the morning (I assume because my sinuses are draining all night, making me feel nauseated in the mornings). But seriously, I feel like death warmed over. I went to the doc yesterday, because I was seriously concerned since I'd had to take 3 days off of work, and she said I had a sinus infection. Hopefully the antibiotic she gave me is working its magic, b/c I HAVE to be at work next week. The worst part of all of this? DH is now sick! He's the biggest baby when he's sick. He's driving me bonkers. And, for some reason, when he doesn't feel good, he likes to clean things (the kitchen, the bathroom). Um, you know I'm just going to re-clean it all as soon as I feel better, right? And you know the smell of bleach is awful when I'm sick, right?

I've worn all my shoes down and now i am left with no choice! Most of my gym shoes are 8.5 or 9. I'd love to take a pair off your hands if they fit. I can buy them off you! I have 2.5 weeks before I fly to texas and visit my family and I need to be able to fit comfortably in my summer clothes. I feel the same way. I'm so excited about it finally being spring, even though we've had more rainy days lately than sunshine. I'm back on my bike. I didn't ride at all over the winter. The first time I went out I was discouraged, I knew I wouldn't be able to start where I left off last year, but geesh! I only rode 10 minutes before my legs started screaming at me. The 3rd time I went, I rode 15.5 miles, so things aren't as bad as I'd feared. Then one time I got caught in heavy rain. I was on my way back to the car anyway, but still had over 3 miles to go. And it was raining HARD, the whole way back. Stupid weather man had said it was just going to be cloudy, no rain. I tried to think of it as an adventure rather than a miserable experience, that didn't work too well. My boyfriend bought a hybrid so he can ride with me. He's heard me whining about wanting a road bike so I wouldn't have to work so hard just to go so slow. I knew he was stronger than me because he's a big guy and he lifted weights until a year or so ago, but I would get irritated because he'd barely break a sweat cruising along and starting at 15 miles was like nothing to him. Then, in the middle of a 15 mile ride we switched bikes. I was the one cruising that time and he stuggled all the way back to the car. I think his ego took a hit when another woman cruised by him on a hybrid and he couldn't keep up on my mountain bike lol. He confessed that until that day he thought I was just making excuses about wanting a road bike so I wouldn't have to work so hard to get a little speed. Now it's "we need to get you a road bike" and he'll pay half. LOL!

Another sunny warm day... i tried to go for a walk at lunch today and 4 blocks in my feet and legs were aching. UGH! I am only at like 7k steps for the day. I realized tonight that my legs have felt achy and tired for a couple of weeks... my feet have hurt just a bit, but i thought it was because i was standing at my new sit/stand desk at work in my flats. Apparently this was all a precursor to my shoes dying LOL i rummaged through my closet and this was my last pair of gym shoes. The rain is rolling in right now, and it is supposed to be crappy weather all week. I guess that worked out

Apparently this was all a precursor to my shoes dying LOL i rummaged through my closet and this was my last pair of gym shoes. The rain is rolling in right now, and it is supposed to be crappy weather all week. I guess that worked out I looked and I have 1 pair nikes barely worn. I can mail them but would take a few days. Alternately, I can give them to DH to bring and you could pick them up at his office - he's at Sears tower. No $ necessary, glad to be rid of them so I can make way for shoes that actually fit...

Yesterday when I was riding my bike, a bug flew up my nose. Me being me, I freaked out. My BF was riding behind me and he said I scared him because he thought I was having a seizure or something. I started shaking my head and I guess I was so panicked I forgot how to stop my bike properly, so I was trying to get off of it but it was still rolling. We were on a trail and there were other people around to see me looking like a fool. A few people were watching but as soon as I managed to get off the bike I yelled to my BF that there was a bug in my nose, so I guess the other people were relieved that I wasn't suffering from some sudden serious medical issue. I was too busy to be embarrassed. My BF teased me and laughed at me for the rest of the night. Asking me stupid shit like why was I spitting when I got off the bike if the bug was in my nose and describing my antics when I couldn't get off the bike. I laughed with him, I'm sure I looked a mess to anyone that saw it.
