I shop @ Belk and Dillards. Chicos is a little far out there for me, the new Cold Water Creek is just as expensive as it ever was. I don't like Kohls, Marshalls or TJ Maxx. I guess I dress to conservatively for those stores. I normally buy when items are on sale, but since shopping is favorite pastime of mine, I tend to do it all year round. If we're spending the winter where they shopping is good, I go to Jones of NY at the outlets, and in the past I've even bought a few Demin & Co. from QVC.
I know Belk puts mock turtlenecks on sale BOGO usually in November, so I am sure to check the ads at that time.

I buy a lot of clothes at Bealls when I go to FL.
Otherwise, work clothes from Macy's, JCpenney. Casual stuff at old navy.

I have never been as fashionable as I was in my 20's before I had kids. I had plenty of disposable income to keep up with the trends. And, I looked good because I was in shape. Now I spend very little and am not as skinny which makes me even less excited to go shopping. So part of me does think it's a product of age. Although I know plenty of women my age and older who can somehow still find the time and money to dress and look amazing. So...

Old Navy/sometimes Gap if I have a coupon, Kohl's, Target sometimes has some decent stuff. I like browsing around Marshall's and TJMax and get some good there stuff sometimes, and I've gotten some tops recenty at this store called Uniqlo. I can't dress nicely or differently for work (uniform shirts and khakis is all I can wear) and I'm too lazy, cheap and unfashionable to bother with much else. So don't take fashion advice from me!

I love clothes...I love shoes...I love purses...I love matching jewelry...and the stores love me Most of my work clothes come from Talbots, Ann Taylor, White House Black Market and J Crew. Casual clothes from Gap, Macys and LL Bean. I don't like Kohls or T J Maxx, so I hardly shop there. Shoes come from wherever I find comfortable, well fitting and smart looking shoes, DSW hasn't failed me so far.

Like gooddecisions, I dressed my very best when I was in my 20's, before the kids began arriving. When our family began to grow, I wasn't working the type of jobs that required wearing suits, so I got by a lot cheaper when clothes shopping. Kohl's, etc. when I went retail. Otherwise, I'm lucky to have a very nice resale shop nearby. However, I do pay good money for my shoes, as I tend to be flat-footed & need the arch support.

I get mostly all my clothes from JCP. They seem to fit me better. I'm 5'1 and have a hard time. With dresses and pants.

for the past 5 years almost all my clothes have come from resale stores. It's tough being unemployed/retired w/limited income. Kohl's stuff has become MUCH poorer quality - even worse than careful WalMart shopping so no longer shop there. As for shoes, I would spend there BUT I inherited 17 pair when my Mom passed in 2004. The only ones I have bought since are New Balance white walkers (Kohl's-sale + coupon) and black Reeboks (amazon).
In my working days I usually shopped at Marshalls & TJ Maxx. A number of people like ross.

I buy most of my clothes at Bon Ton during sales. I used to like Kohl's, and I still like they way things look on the hanger, but most of it doesn't fit my body right. Now that I work from home my clothes don't get a lot of wear and tear, so I don't have to shop nearly as often.
My husband's clothes all come from JC Penny's. He will usually only agree to go clothes shopping once a year so I drag him there and we load up.
Seems like a lot of New Balance fans here. I get shoes at the New Balance outlet store when the old ones wear out.

For work - business casual - I wear black slacks, black trouser socks, and black flats. I purchase colorful tops to wear. I like my uniform - a lot less stress in the morning. In my 20's, I shopped for outfits - different colored pants, skirts, etc and spent way more on clothes back then. I purchase most of my clothes at Younkers/Macy's. I tried a nicer thrift store that my friend does a lot of shopping at, but there wasn't much of a selection in my size. And what was there was looking a bit worn.

I dress and shop according to the rules of "capsule wardrobe". My basic colors are red, black & grey. Since I've let my hair color go back to it's natural 1/2 grey and 1/2 light brown, I am now attempting to shop for colors of pink, burgundy and grey.
A capsule wardrobe making shopping and dressing so much easier.

Post kids I just don't have the time/don't care as much. I have very few outfits but the ones I have look good. So I just wear the same thing over and over again. If I find something l like (which seems like is very rare now), I will buy 3 in different colors. For work, I still buy dress pants from The Limited or Express. Most of my weekend wear tends to be from Macys or Old Navy. I really don't like stores like Kohls, TJ Maxx, Marshalls. Things there always seem so messy and disorganized, though maybe that is just the stores in my area. If I get Kohls coupons I will go there and buy stuff for the kids, but that is the extent of Kohls shopping for me.

A lot of basics- cardigans, camis, t-shirts, pencil pants come from old navy- occasionally a cute dress. I supplement the basics with items from Gap, Loft, New York and Company, WHBM. Occasionally, I find an item or two at target, I buy panties and socks there... Bras come from Macy's.

As my husband and I age, we are buying higher quality clothes and just going ahead and paying for them. My husband's JC Penny pants ripped within a few months of owning them, and they never looked as nice as the Nordstrom's pants.

I wish I could do this with DH, but even Nordstrom pants can't survive much contact with drill bits, sharp objects and power tools. He always manages to tear massive holes in his new pants and then insists on wearing them for the rest of the year.

I mostly shop at thrift stores since we can now wear jeans to work and I hate shopping for clothes any more. As I get closer to retirement (about 18 months), I find I'm buying less and less. I'm starting to use up and wear out my business casual clothes for the conferences I go to. I've had to buy a couple of formal dresses for the black tie events at conferences, but not much else.
Underwear is from Macy's.

Nordstrom pants are not for the type of work (or fun) that you describe. What about Dickies or other "work pants?"

We just had our JC Penny's run two months ago, so he has a good while yet.

I wear jeans to work, I buy those at American Eagle. I wear uniform t-shirts in the summer. I don't have to, but it makes getting dressed easy in the mornings. In the winter, I wear hoodies from American Eagle.
The rest of my clothes come from different stores. Loft, Lucky Brand stores, Dillards, wherever I see something I like. American Eagle, Loft and Lucky, I buy online because I know how their clothes generally fit. Even though you can find some good stuff at Marshalls and TJ Maxx sometimes, I hate going in those stores.
Macy's, Dillards and DSW for shoes.

We buy stuff online - Amazon and Zappos.
I also use Stitch Fix every once in a while.

I buy most of my Clothes at Boston Store (Bon-Ton), some from JC Penney's (I am also Petite) some from Macys (my Mom says they no longer have Petite in store?). I bought several items from White House Black Market this year too. I also rarely find clothing items at Kohl's.
I just bought a few items at a resale shop, it wasn't about trying to save $$ though, I was looking for something specific and couldn't find what I wanted so stopped in there. Friends have recommended a few more resale shops so I might check out a few more. DD is in college now, but one of my friends recommended a resale shop for better dresses - she got her DD's Homecoming dress at a shop in the next county over from me. I will take my Niece's prom dress there in spring.
I buy a lot of stuff on-line from Eddie Bauer Petites, and I understand White House Black Market also has petites.

I'm all over the place with prices. Some things I refuse to buy unless I can get a good deal, some things I splurge on. I have $20 jeans and $200 jeans (I love jeans). I tend to splurge on shoes. I have issues with my feet hurting, so when I find shoes that are comfortable AND they look good (it's usually one or the other), I'm willing to pay. None of my work shoes cost under $100, but comfort is a must because I'm standing/walking on a concrete floor all day.

We're getting a DSW store opening soon. The last time I shopped in one they didn't carry much in the way of wide sizes. Burlington Coat Factory is also opening soon, look forward to being able to shop there. It's been a long time since I've been in Burlington, hope it hasn't changed too much.

I stopped shopping at Burlington years ago because a lot of their clothes didn't fit quite right. I wondered if they got a lot of items with slight imperfections. I gave up on them.

I am also a petite and do most of my shopping at Talbot's Petites. Their clothes are pricey, but they are classic and last for years. I just don't have the same luck with fit and quality at places like Kohl's/TJ Maxx/Marshall's, etc. I know my size and the cut that works best for me and so shopping at Talbot's is a breeze. In fact, I do most of my shopping online because Talbot's clothes fit so well. Like others, i tend to wear neutral-colored pants and colored tops and/or sweaters. I also shop at Lord and Taylor for underwear and cashmere and merino sweaters. I take care of the sweaters and they, too, last for years and become a staple in my winter wardrobe. For shoes, I try to buy and wear Taryn Rose for dressy outfits (she's a podiatrist and makes shoes that help with my plantar fasciitis but that are still reasonably fashionable). Those I get at Nordstrom or Nieman Marcus. They are pricey, but well-made and my comfort is worth it. I wear Dansko clogs and Nike Air Maxes for casual.
Needless to say, I buy nearly everything on sale (Friends and Family, etc.), after season for the next year, use coupons where available, and store cards if they offer an additional discount and then pay the purchase off immediately.
