LOL Is it weird that I find it kind his list sad? [[[ sounds like he ain't gettin' nothin' at home . . . either that, or she's as sexually ignorant as he is . . . either way yes, I think it's sad ]]] This is why you have sex before marriage. Then you won't be super surprised your wifey isn't a freak in the sheets or a fan of bubble baths for 2.

A bubble bath for two They have 3 kids under 5 and another on the way, or something equally insane like that. They don't have time to get freaky in the bath. And if she finds herself in the bathtub without a kid, she's probably going to lock the door.
Frankly, if I weren't able to use birth control and I had to submit to my husband whenever he wanted it, I'd avoid him.

It has nothing to do with getting enough at home, It has to do with morals and ethics, If you have none, well, you have none.

And I guess I'm assuming it's the horny leading the clueless - at least clueless beyond Tab A fits into Slot B.

Seriously!! How does his brain work? "I'm going to advocate for marriage and abstinence openly and loudly, but I'm a perv who also wants to cheat on my wife and abuse my sisters How does his mind do this mental gymnastics? I see you have never had the pleasure of meeting a fundie.

He'll probably say he joined to save the poor, lost, sinning women on the site. Missionary work Except I read that 90-95% of the subscribers were men...

I feel bad for anyone actually named Ashley Madison. It will not be fun for those girls (and possibly boys since Ashley is actually a boy's name) for a while.

On the up side for them, people will have a harder time googling them and finding out anything about them without sifting through a million news articles first.

OK, I'm not an expert on how the AM site works but if the idea is that people are looking for other people to cheat with, unless the majority of AM subscribers were gay men, how exactly would that work? Did it not work - did people not actually find other people to cheat with on the site? Or did the AM site realize that issue and hook subscribers up with women from other sources?

John Oliver did a segment on this a little while ago. I think it was 1 in 5 people in Ottawa were on the site. He called Ottawa the Canadian city of romance or something like that.

Ick. And consistent with prior actions, the focus is primarily on him. Either not considering the victims worth apologizing to, or maybe not even considering their hurt to be substantial in comparison to the hurt that he is now experiencing and the disgrace he's bringing on his religion. His statement about molesting his sisters describes how he sinned and how he stopped when others convinced him what a bad path he was going down "I understood that if I continued down this wrong road that I would end up ruining my life." Note that this is quite different than understanding that if he continued down this wrong road, he would hurt or ruin the lives of those girls he would molest.
In this latest episode, he does mention that his wife and family are hurt, but doesn't apologize to them for his actions. In fact in his acknowledgement of his wife and family's hurt, he even puts them second by qualifying he is ashamed and grieving for the hurt caused, "most of all [to] Jesus and all those who profess faith in Him." So his statement is that the worst hurt here is the hurt he caused to Jesus and his followers, not his wife and family.
He also never apologizes to his wife or family. The only apology is about him and his ability to lead as a Christian, "I deeply regret all hurt I have caused so many by being such a bad example. "
Nice.

Not surprising, though. I don't believe he thinks of his wife as an equal in humanity, any more than he thought of his sisters that way. And his children are too young at this point to really understand what has happened. Like others who engage in this behavior, he was, and apparently still is, a narcissist whose primary worry is his own worth, power, prestige and how all of it is viewed by the outside world. The inside world (his family, wife, kids) seems to be just part of his personal orbit, rather than human beings with their own worth and feelings. He cannot see that they may be hurt or damaged by what he did, because he sees them as part of himself. And if he can internalize, forgive and move on for himself, then what works for him must work for them as well.

Wasn't this the site Eliot Spitzer got mixed up in? I assumed the people who bought the "affair guaranteed or your money back" packages were being set up with escorts... but I could be wrong.

viewing porn = cheating? Because that would make a LOT of people cheaters. I took it to mean he is saying that he:
1. Became addicted to porn.
2. Advanced to cheating on his wife.
But I agree, his statement is a bit vague on this point.

The family could send him to Little Rock again and he could wield a hammer and help build a house....oh wait, that guy who counseled him is in prison for pedophilia.....nevermind. Some else needs to figure out what to do with Josh. Maybe Jim Bob and Michelle, in their soon to be TV program can counsel him on how to redeem himself and walk the path of righteousness.

Interesting, now his statement is missing from the Duggar family website. I'm wondering about that, too. But then again, Jim Bob and Michelle are working on a new TV series about helping victims of abuse. Having that statement on their website won't exactly help their cause. I'm wondering if one of their advisers told them to remove it.

Your post does make me wonder what is really next, though. Before this, he did have supporters. But now, I don't see even the most forgiving of his flock flocking to his side and helping him pay his bills. Not that there isn't some family money still in the Duggar coffers. They may have lost their TLC show, but they are not without means, thanks to real estate investments and pretty frugal living for years. But he still has a wife and four very young children. What happens to them?

I think this is why they keep those women ignorant, unskilled, and constantly pregnant. You couldn't abide them otherwise.

Covering real life stories of women like this who would like to leave their current situation but have no idea how or where to start. The show could show clearly what challenges they face and then walk them through the resources available. And even follow them for a while as they navigate the social services, charities, jobs, etc. available.
It would be awesome to help educate not only people who aren't in trouble to see what is and isn't available but also help some women out.
