that is terrifying to me. because that means that they would pretty much vote for anyone other than her. I think it's what's going on with a bunch of Trump supporters, like my inlaws. I don't know that they will vote for Trump but they really don't like Hilary. And 3rd party is not an option for them. we really are well trained to not think in this society, aren't we? i guess Lippmann was right when fretted over the thundering herd, and stressed the importance of keeping them as far removed from politics as possible.

Donald Trump campaign spokeswoman Katrina Pierson said Thursday on CNN that Trump had not changed his previously staunch position on deporting all illegal immigrants but rather had “changed the words that he is saying.”
Trump, whose call to build a southern border wall and deport roughly 11 million illegal immigrants helped catapult him to the Republican nomination, suggested this week he could be open to a process of legalization to let illegal immigrants remain in the country.
“No citizenship,” Trump said at a Fox News town hall this week.“Let me go a step further—they’ll pay back-taxes, they have to pay taxes. There’s no amnesty, as such, there’s no amnesty, but we work with them.”
“That’s a big change,” CNN anchor Erica Hill said to Pierson.
“He hasn’t changed his position on immigration,” Pierson said. “He’s changed the words that he is saying.”
Her remarks drew laughter from the rest of the Newsroom panel, particularly from commentator Amanda Carpenter, who formerly worked for Trump arch-rival Sen. Ted Cruz (R., Texas).
if Pierson is right, then he is lying now. but how do we know he wasn't lying before? this is pure insanity. rhymes with Hannity. And inanity. Bet the panel thought she was joking. Then - awkward pause - they realized she wasn't.

In his previous life as a reality show host, Trump learned that you lived or died by TV ratings.
He's going about his campaign the same way - find what the lowest common denominator likes, gyrate around to please the largest audience you can, and if that audience isn't quite big enough, gyrate a little more.
The Big Wall wasn't working, someone decided they had to try to cater to the nonwhite voters, and suddenly the Wall was just 'words he said.'
If you can't trust him to stand by his words, he's not trustworthy at all.

that is the opposite of leadership. yep but they're not going to admit it. At best, they (my inlaws) won't talk about Trump, just bash Hilary when the presidential election comes up. Maybe even skip voting for the President and vote on the rest of the ballot.

At which time the producers quickly cut to a commercial break.

Nobody died? I think this is a lame argument. Lots of people die on any President's watch. Thinking that Trump some how will get less people killed simply because he wasn't in a position over lives in hostile places is just crazy. He doesn't give a crap about most business owners who work for him, so I don't understand why you and others think he's going to care anymore about their lives if he gets in a position to do so.
www.theatlantic.com/politics/archive/2016/08/donald-trump-scandals/474726/
The dirt: Contractors, waiters, dishwashers, and plumbers who have worked at Trump projects say that his company stiffed them for work, refusing to pay for services rendered.
The upshot: Trump has offered various excuses, including shoddy workmanship, but the scale of the problem—hundreds of allegations—makes that hard to credit. In some cases, even the lawyers Trump has hired to defend him have sued him for failing to pony up their fees. In one lawsuit, a Trump employee admitted in court that a painter was stiffed because managers determined they had “already paid enough.” The cases are damaging because they show Trump not driving a hard bargain with other businesses, but harming ordinary, hard-working Americans.
As noted above, New Jersey also fined Trump $200,000 for arranging to keep black employees away from mafioso Robert LiButti’s gambling table. In 1991, the Casino Control Commission fined Trump’s company another $450,000 for buying LiButti nine luxury cars.
ETA: Don't you wonder what quid pro quo might have happened, that had Trump even buy those 9 cars for a mob boss?

First there was Dynasty. Then rhere was Dallas and its spinoff, Knots Landing.
I imagine Trump's campaign team will inspire a new prime time soap opera once the election is over. A campaign team full of cads, voter frauds, liars, bigots, schemers, and screwers of business owners..
High drama by B-listers.

I'm wondering if the voter fraud thing was supposed to be sprung as as "See?! We told you fraud was rampant and tried to pass laws to fix it but NOOOOO, all the stupid dems said it wasn't an issue." Not expecting it to be caught at all.

Wow. I did not see voter fraud from a campaign manager coming. Bannon must be an idiot to think that wouldn't have been noticed.

Not expecting it to be caught at all. But its the type of fraud most of us said wouldn't be caught with voter ID laws. Apparently he votes by mail. Now if they did Washington state type mailings, maybe he wouldn't vote at all because he wouldn't be at that address to get the mail.

Maybe you could stay off of P&M until you decide to post about issues instead of posters? You suggesting what a poster should do vs what he thinks a poster should do, is different how ? For one, I am requesting he follow the COC or not post to P&M. Could I have phrased it better? Certainly. I don't like being trolled. If he had a history in his prior incarnation of reasonable posts about issues here I would have posted something else.
So in conclusion, I am only asking he follow the rules. I am not telling him he is a zombie or making aspersions on his character. That's what's different.

I have never felt that being asked to have an open mind or thinking for oneself was trolling. He seemed somewhat correct about the exaggerative and excited statement, to me anyway. I've seen too many liberal major media buzzwords repeated here to think otherwise. Of course our selected stances mean nothing in regards to the point that both of you are suggesting what another poster should do. There is still no difference.
