I'm kind of surprised there hasn't been more of a stink about Trump hiring Hannity as an advisor.
In theory, I thought Hannity was supposed to be a journalist. Journalists are not supposed to be political advisors.
Hannity is now claiming that he can be an advisor because he isn't a journalist, he's an 'entertainer.'
So is he finally admitting that Fox news isn't really news, just right wing entertainment?
(Had to sit and watch about four hours of Fox this past Saturday at MIL's house, and I would agree, not a lot of hard news on there- but I thought Fox insisted it was 'real news.'
Did he hire him or has Hannity just continued to be a volunteer? As it is, Trump has the Breitbart guy and Ailes both. Lewandowski was from CNN. Hannity does pro-Trump hour now. Can Trump explain perhaps how the media is all against him?
www.nytimes.com/2016/08/22/business/media/sean-hannity-turns-adviser-in-the-service-of-donald-trump.html?_r=0 Mr. Ailes faced another Hannity-related issue shortly before his ouster, when CNN reported that the host had provided Newt Gingrich with private jet travel to Indiana, for a possible vice-presidential interview with Mr. Trump. (Mr. Hannity had been lobbying Mr. Trump to choose Mr. Gingrich.)
Mr. Hannity told me his support for Mr. Trump makes him “more honest” than mainstream reporters who hide their biases. It turns out even “honesty” is a relative concept these days. For some people more than others.

And I see Trump has flip flopped on his immigration policy.
Instead of building a wall, he's going to let long term illegal residents stay, as long as they pay back taxes.
Jeb Bush must be happy - I think this was his proposed immigration plan.
Say bub-bye to the wall!
Trump can probably say bye-bye to some of his supporters too. The 'wall' and Trump's bigotry toward immigrants was what drew supporters to him in the first place. he was barking about the wall less than a week ago.

I wonder how many people are so emotionally "invested" in Trump that they will have to vote for him rather than admit they got played? that is what he is gambling on. it's not a bad bet. here is the problem, tho: how can ANYONE trust him, now?

Trump has been known to change his mind 3 times in 8 hours. I wonder how long he can just read and be this new nice Trump? As soon as he goes off script the real Trump comes out.

I bet quite a few are going to want to "save face" and will do the mental gymnastics needed to convince themselves this was Trump's plan all along. We don't care what Trump says, A vote for Trump is a vote against Hillary! then you don't care if he BECOMES Hillary? interesting.

There are third party candidates you can vote for if you don't want to vote for Hillary. Why vote for someone who for his entire campaign so far has promised that in order to make America great again he was going to "build a wall around Mexico" to keep the illegals from taking our jobs but now has done a complete 180 and says he will allow illegal immigrants to stay? Didn't he just prove he's as two faced as any other politician?

She's starting a book tour for her book In Trump we Trust where she sings the praises of the man who will kick all the illegals out.
Awkward!
I guess all of Anne Coulter's fans might be disgruntled enough not to vote for Trump, but I don't know how many fans she actually has, so maybe that doesn't matter.

That's the type of Fox news I can get behind. yeah, the irony is not lost on me. so, it turns out that V. Fox and everyone else who thought the idea was ridiculous, not a real proposal, and would never happen were RIGHT. Trump is calculating that his pivot to common sense will make him look more presidential. i am betting it makes him look like the ultimate waffler.

one more side note: the goal for Trump is to make this campaign about Clinton. this pivot is an epic fail. i would be surprised if the media lets go of this one before election day. i think he will end up getting asked endlessly about it, and for good reason.
just what is his position? can anyone articulate it?

He's not "changing his mind. He's changing his words." This comes from his batshit crazy spokesperson. Everyone laughed and laughed.... You can't make this stuff up.

Donald Trump campaign spokeswoman Katrina Pierson said Thursday on CNN that Trump had not changed his previously staunch position on deporting all illegal immigrants but rather had “changed the words that he is saying.”
Trump, whose call to build a southern border wall and deport roughly 11 million illegal immigrants helped catapult him to the Republican nomination, suggested this week he could be open to a process of legalization to let illegal immigrants remain in the country.
“No citizenship,” Trump said at a Fox News town hall this week.“Let me go a step further—they’ll pay back-taxes, they have to pay taxes. There’s no amnesty, as such, there’s no amnesty, but we work with them.”
“That’s a big change,” CNN anchor Erica Hill said to Pierson.
“He hasn’t changed his position on immigration,” Pierson said. “He’s changed the words that he is saying.”
Her remarks drew laughter from the rest of the Newsroom panel, particularly from commentator Amanda Carpenter, who formerly worked for Trump arch-rival Sen. Ted Cruz (R., Texas).
if Pierson is right, then he is lying now. but how do we know he wasn't lying before? this is pure insanity. rhymes with Hannity.

this would make a great meme.
"i haven't changed my opinion, i have just changed the words i am saying" "i haven't changed my underwear, i have just changed my deodorant". "i haven't stopped binge drinking, i just do it in private now." "i haven't changed careers, i have just abandoned the career i had before". "i haven't changed wives, i have just added some extra side action"
what the hell. really?

it's the same as the rest of his policies. if this doesn't completely freak out HALF of his supporters, then they have no idea what they are doing. which is, of course, possible.

Then, again, Trump has never appealed to me. How in the heck he's managed to appeal to anyone is a mystery as far as I'm concerned.

I think it's what's going on with a bunch of Trump supporters, like my inlaws. I don't know that they will vote for Trump but they really don't like Hilary. And 3rd party is not an option for them.
