How about a splintered Repo party where the far righties and all of their social issue concerns go one way, the normal repos go another, the centrist demos join that group, the progressive lefties form a third and they duke it out.
I'm betting we might end up with some semblance of sanity....fiscal conservatism, reluctance to nation build, less concern about what private individuals do with their bodies/life. I've been arguing for that for years. The GOP almost has to split to retain any credibility at this point. The moderates should keep the name, though. Let the far-right come up with a new one. |

Hard to think "a long time poster" would only have about 20 posts or a reluctance to identify who they were then.
I guess the jokes on us. The small number of posts occurs when a poster returns after having deleted a previous account. Their post count starts over. Those of us who have been here for a long time knew who this poster was because of the alias. Other posters cannot be expected to know that. |

Considering their hubris I'd guess they are more on the "We're RIGHT! Party" train. Personally, I think the Irrogance Party (combination of ignorance and arrogance) would be more appropriate.  |

The process involves sniffing through your closet for skeletons - your closet and those of your employees and relatives. That's just what happens.
I guess he figured he's so popular, people just love him, and the media would too.

I'm kind of surprised there hasn't been more of a stink about Trump hiring Hannity as an advisor.
In theory, I thought Hannity was supposed to be a journalist. Journalists are not supposed to be political advisors.
Hannity is now claiming that he can be an advisor because he isn't a journalist, he's an 'entertainer.'
So is he finally admitting that Fox news isn't really news, just right wing entertainment?
(Had to sit and watch about four hours of Fox this past Saturday at MIL's house, and I would agree, not a lot of hard news on there- but I thought Fox insisted it was 'real news.'

Instead of building a wall, he's going to let long term illegal residents stay, as long as they pay back taxes.
Jeb Bush must be happy - I think this was his proposed immigration plan.

I just saw that on the news. That's going to alienate A LOT of the people who got him this far because the whole reason they supported him is because of his xenophobic solution to all of America's problems.
I am sure the move was made because they think it will bring in people he has currently isolated. MAYBE some people will change their mind but I doubt it would be a significant enough number to make up for all the supporters he's going to lose by abandoning "the wall" which has been a core part of his campaign.
He's made sure nobody can ever forget "Reality Trump". "Reality Trump" is what propelled him to the nomination. Little late now to try to turn himself into "President Trump".

I about had a fit, wanted to post back on facebook but didn't.
We have a holier then thou couple we know, well DH knows, they have been supporting Trump, now these are real religious folks. The guy posted yesterday evening about how he would get upset when some people used terrible language in front of women and kids. I told hubby I wanted to ask him how he could support the Trumples then, hubby says, no just leave it alone. We need to keep peace in this small area we live in but what hypocrisy and bigotry then say they are Christians. This goes on around here all the time, one of the reasons I don't go to church.
Can't they see this stuff and what they are saying and doing? Just gets under my skin. My husband said they are bigots, they won't admit it to themselves but they are is why they hate Obama so much. Just amazing. |
