What are the main things a thread needs to get really popular here? Say more then 10 pages long. 1. A weird name of an old car that a person wants to be buried in and/or a Coy Pond.2. A topic with posters that have champagne taste on a faucet water budget esp. with a live in BF/GF with children (optional) and a train wreck financial situation who want "advice". Along with excuses of why they can't do <<insert advice>> - repeatedly. 3. Presidential runs in progress and/or topics about which one sucks more and why. 4. A bat shit crazy family saga that has many branches of never ending stories. 5. Drama of any kind where people are taking pot shots at each other when they disagree or hit a nerve. 6. Gay/Lesbian/Transgender/Black/Gun/Abortion topics. 7. Circumcision: To do or not to do? discussions. 8. Working moms vs. stay-at-home moms. 9. Rape or anything about men vs. women. 10. Anybody on any kind of government assistance for any reason. Add in purchases of crab legs, manicures and name brand purses/clothes and tricked out SUVs and you could easily get to 20 pages if nobody locks the thread or attacks another poster and gets the thread nuked. Have fun, Hickle! I have to go now. I want to be buried next to a pond that's brash, loud and in your face! I don't do coy.

LMAO!!!! Koi? I always type Coy for some reason when I mention her pond. People have stopped trying to learn me after all these years so don't usually bother correcting me. Thanks for thinking there is still hope.

I like pontificate, even if you don't know what it means it conveys attitude.

Single mom with one or more baby daddies who asks for financial advice then has excuses why none of it works for her situation ranks right up there.
Haves vs. have nots.
People doing dumb stuff and everyone else who knew better and isn't afraid to let everyone know that.
Actually probably just two things: a slightly absurd or controversial topic and a ton of people at work who are bored and just don't feel like working. Mostly the latter.

You have to have Paul involved, so everyone can make the thread about him and chastise him.

"what is needed for a thread to get lots of replies"Start a thread like the one linked below and posit the person should not have to go to jail after his 5th DUI conviction. The thread got 306 posts with 4,810 views to date. Subject and the author's rationale is a guarantee to attract replies. DUI's (sic)

My tablet which I am using here thinks I am trying to write code using brackets to highlight something else. Hence the parenthesis. I still cannot use the capital letter 'I' when typing a message using BBCode and quoting another poster. The letter 'I' sends the curser up and into the quoted material. If I am not watching it types my message into and within the quoted material.

I have to click a smiley first to even get the keyboard to pop up so I can type my nonsense.

I have trouble getting the keyboard to pop up unless I quote someone, or stretch the screen to zoom really far in to get a cursor to begin typing. No problems elsewhere. At least posts no longer flicker on and off when a page contains motion smilies or avatars. That was maddening. I could only read things inside quotes.

I got in some very minor moderator trouble when I typed in a poster's posting name and auto spell check changed it to 'Piggy'. With a couple of examples to the moderator of what his/her name got changed to via my tablet's auto spell check/change, I was forgiven.

Please stop posting pictures of yummy ice cream. Now I want ice cream but I don't have any ice cream and it's too hot to go outside to go to the ice cream place to buy ice cream and even if I did it would melt and then I'd be sad because I still wouldn't have any ice cream.

I couldn't even come here for a while, the whole page would do a dance that would make our seizure prone has issues.

Yep, it started slowly, then got really bad. It was after an update to my kindle fire, some change obviously didn't play nice with proboards (or vice versa). I could surf a little bit before it got impossible to read anything but quotes. Then I had to give up. After a while spending more time on other sites, it must have gotten resolved, because I suddenly realized it was no longer happening anymore.
