I think the "HE" that he's referring to is Cosby.
Cosby claims he gave the women the quaaludes with their consent. The women claim otherwise. They say the drugs were slipped into drinks that Cosby gave them.

i think he is claiming he gave them the drugs with their consent, but i am not certain. If I'm the "he" you are referring to, I'm not claiming anything. I'm plainly saying he never admitted to doing anything without consent. That doesn't mean that I'm saying he did or didn't... I'm simply saying he's maintaining his innocence. whether he is actually innocent or not remains to be discovered... but until there's proof, all US citizens are SUPPOSED to be "presumed innocent until proven guilty". So, until such time as there is actual proof otherwise, I will presume him innocent. settle down. i meant Cosby, bro.

I don't know how this thread devolved to discussion about Cosby BUT let's get back to Trump.
Trump seems to have somewhat toned down his mouth. I think it has been a couple days since he alianated any group. McConnell is NOT a group.

I was wrong. Trump is going after fellow Repubs. McCain, McConnel and several more. Wonder how long until he runs out of them & goes after another target.
Guess he is planning on being a 3rd party candidate or NEVER needing favors on legislation and/or rulings from the Congress, Senate or executive branch or compliance stuff like the EPA & IRS. i am sure everyone will have an up yours response after all his mouthing off.

And just imagine what the response from world leaders would be.
Trump is not a serious candidate. He will never be a serious candidate. Trump is all about...Trump. His publicity. His "brand." His fortune. It would be nice to think the American public will see through that, and that his current following will fall dramatically as the novelty wears off, but as has been said, "Nobody ever went broke underestimating the intelligence of the American public."

... i would say that Trump has about 25% of the vote locked up. ... Of the likely Republican primary vote? Or some other group?

The majority of American Voters (not so much the "public", inclusive of everyone) couldn't (or wouldn't) see through Obama's BS... why do think they'll be able to see through Trump's?

With his ego and cash, he may stay in as long as he can based on the angry that are intrigued by him. He may convince himself that what started as a publicity seeking lark has longer legs than expected. We'll see.

Who is falling for anything? No one here except shooby would vote for him. But analyzing his status is fair game on a thread called "curious about trump". And considering his current poll numbers, someone somewhere is intrigued.

Like I said, anyone that wants to bet let me know So far no one wants to put their money where their mouth is Do you have a "by" date? Because otherwise it is a sucker bet. I see no likelihood Trump will have the GOP nomination wrapped up before the convention. There is the real possibility that the GOP will get to the convention without someone having it in their pocket but I don't see Trump still in the mix by then. So I see him dropping out of the race at some point. That point will not be dissimilar to circumstances that cause any candidate to drop out (i.e. not in a position of winning the nomination). Of course, he is "The Donald" so the show will be bigger.

and, of course, he is totally right about all of that. he is also in violation of Reagan's First Principle. imo, this attitude ends him. he will never be accepted by the party, and they will work actively to marginalize him.

Could it be possible that some people are fed up with politics as usual, are listening because Trump is stating the brutal truth?

At least we all know where he stands on John McCain being a war hero. Then again, the Democratic Senator from Minnesota Al Franken basically said the same thing about McCain when McCain ran for the Presidency. But that was fine. Today we have the Dems and Republicans denouncing Trump, but McCain says Trump does not owe HIM an apology. Right - this was said as a joke when Al Franken was a comedian. Whether people find it funny is certainly up to them. But it is important to understand the difference between saying something as a joke, and saying something as the truth. And while some would say they are the same, it is important to understand the difference between a comedian and a politician. ![:P](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/tongue.png) Ah, now I understand all of this. If a democrat says something in poor taste that he thinks is funny," it's perfectly alright. If a republican had said it, there couldn't be enough news coverage so satisfy people. So, if my friend is at the house and another guy stops by I can introduce him as my favorite N word and that's funny because I laugh when I say it?
The lengths people will go to in order to excuse their favorites. ![](http://syonidv.hodginsmedia.com/vsmileys/headbang.gif)
