The report concluded that it is probable Jim McNally (the Officials Locker Room attendant for the Patriots) and John Jastremski (an equipment assistant for the Patriots) participated in a deliberate effort to release air from Patriots game balls after the balls were examined by the referee. It is also their view that it is probable Tom Brady was at least generally aware of the inappropriate activities of McNally and Jastremski involving the release of air from Patriots game balls.
Surprise surprise. Anyone who thinks that was the first time they did it are delusional.
Hey Bob Kraft, how about an apology from your arrogant self?

It took them three months to come out and say that they probably knew that the balls where not properly inflated. If the NFL didn't make so much money, I would think it they were a joke.

They knew back when they did it. They wanted to wait until the Super Bowl was over and the NFL draft was done before they released this. Kraft has Roger in his back pocket.
I think an appropriate punishment would be that Tom has to play with severely over inflated balls for an entire season.

Which means nothing and the Super Bowl is already over and they have demonstrated they don't care about the Integrity of the NFL or BelliCHEAT's cheating. I am so over the NFL and football. There are lots of other sports to watch.

I don't follow football. Is there going to be any penalty for cheating?
I also read recently that the football commissioner made around $33million last year. For doing what, exactly?

I was wondering how long it would take before you started this thread. as I said somewhere else this morning - how do you have a report full of likely/probably/possibly scenarios and consider anything proven?

It doesn't have to be "proven" to show probably guilt. It is not a criminal case or civil case in a court of law. Do you honestly believe Tom is innocent of requesting those balls to be deflated to his liking? Serious question because you seem intelligent and I find it hard to believe that you really believe. Have you read the text messages? Time to take off the blue and red glasses.
Did you know that the locker room attendant, Jim McNally "received two footballs autographed by Brady and also had Brady autograph a game-worn Patriots jersey that McNally previously had obtained." This was of course after his services of were rendered. But when questioned, Brady claimed he didn't know Jim McNally. Maybe the quarterback's texts and emails would have told a different story about that. Except, Tom refused to hand over his phone because you know, they would prove his innocence.
"Brady also took the unprecedented step of inviting Jastremski to the QB room (essentially Brady's office) in Gillette Stadium on January 19 for the first and only time that Jastremski can recall during his twenty-year career with the Patriots, and Brady sent Jastremski text messages seemingly designed to calm Jastremski ('You good Jonny boy?'; 'You doing good?')."
No way would those two attendants mess with those balls unless Tom Brady requested it.
Nothing is "proven" but when it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck...

Help me out on something: Does each team have its own footballs? Otherwise, wouldn't a deflated football benefit both teams equally?
I also don't get why they aren't making these accusations with certainty. Are they not certain the footballs were deflated, or is the issue that they're not certain who deflated them? It seems to me that if they know with certainty the balls were deflated, the equipment manager should lose his job regardless of whether he's complicit. The buck stops at him as far as the equipment is concerned.

They know that the equipment manager did it, the question was who knew about it? The report concludes that the two equipment guys and Brady were in on it. No way would those two go ahead and deflate the balls to Brady's liking without Brady telling them to do it.

I honestly don't really care if Tom is involved in all of this. if it was such an egregious thing to have happened, why did it take so long to discover that it was going on? clearly the league didn't GAF if it was supposedly such a long-standing thing (if that's how you read those texts) until it served them to make a huge thing out of something. an official touches the ball before every snap. how was this difference not noticed? come on. you may think that's red and blue glasses, but be honest with yourself - the NFL is a business. why did it take so long to come up with that report? why did it come after the draft, when the NFL wouldn't be in the news again until training camp? well, unless someone beats up their SO again, anyway. as with anything, that's just my opinion. YMMV, as it appears to here. Virgil Showlion - the home team supplies the footballs. the game in question was held here in New England.

Bob and Roger are besties. That is why it took so long for the report to come out. I already stated that the NFL only cares about money. I agree that the time it took was ridiculous.
You don't care that Brady cheated? Wow!

you don't have to like my opinion. why does it matter what I think anyway? all accounts I've heard from talking heads have generated the same conclusion - that Belichick and Kraft are in the clear. and you still seem to think that there was some sort of collusion to keep the report from the public as long as possible. you and the rest of the world that hates the Patriots will find something to hate them for, so what difference does it make what I think?

chiver78: Indeed, but wouldn't deflated footballs benefit both teams equally? That's what I don't get. What good is cheating if the other team gets the same "bonus"?

What good is cheating if the other team gets the same "bonus"? if one team is used to the conditions, and practices that way, they know what they are using. if the other team thinks they have a fully inflated ball and doesn't make the necessary adjustments, they won't benefit b/c they will be missing passes left and right. it's the physics. but as I've said, if it was such a huge difference to have that much of an effect on the Patriots' play, how was it missed by the officials - who touch the ball before every single snap??

The only defense that the Patriot followers have right now is "It is us against the world. Everyone hates us." Uh, no. You were caught cheating. Let us remember also, this isn't the first time the Patriots have been caught cheating to gain a competitive advantage. In that case the evidence "disappeared" under Goodell's watch. What a coincidence!

I don't hate the Patriots, don't think it's cheating after hearing retired QB's talk about how they had balls inflated for their preference like LOTS of QB's have done/do. Big todo about nothing IMO. But good golly is Tom HOT! PS: I am a Nascar fan where it's not cheating until there is a very specific rule against whatever happened (IE: they find a loophole and until it's closed it's used for advantage). So playing in the gray areas is a part of sport that I think happens in all sports.

I don't know anything about any of this or any of the names mentioned, but Grey's Anatomy was cut short bc some football guy was giving an interview.
that was very irritating!

He's too pretty for me. Gisele can keep him.
