I thought it was fun. It had energy, it had sharks, it had "the more you know" star, it had the amazing Missy Elliott, and it kept people talking the next day. KP did her job! You like rap? What's amazing abut her?
Can you do it?

I thought the Chevy truck commercial was clever at the beginning of the game, letting some people think they just lost the television signal. I imagine 50,000,000 young males about jumped out of their seats to yell at the television. After I realized it was an ad, I was so happy, I ignored the rest of the commercial. That was awesome! Everyone at our party did freak for a few seconds.

Some of the ads had more content than there was really time to view them. The Nissan commercial (with the race car dad) was a good example. It was a lot of stuff packed into sixty seconds. The commercial, while a good concept, was too much concept for the time frame. I also found it a bit deceptive. Harry Chapin's song ends with the son and his father never having much of a relationship but in the commercial they magically develop one late in the game based on a common interest. And if you needed another reminder that sometimes you don't get a chance to do that later in life: tragically, Harry Chapin died in a car accident when his only child, a daughter, was 10.
The commercial totally ignored the point of the original song.
I thought the point was that the Dad/Kid relationship was the complete opposite of the one in the song. The Dad tried to have a relationship with his kid even though he worked away from home all the time. YMMV DH's favorite was the old people Dodge commercial. He thinks the guy in the car at the end should have flipped the bird instead of a *rock on* I liked the Doritos flying pig

Because her songs are great? Because over a decade later "Get ur freak on" still makes me shake my booty? Because old Missy Elliott is still worlds better than current pop music? Because I'm a well-rounded individual with varying tastes and know how to have fun? I wondered why Elliott had not been around much lately. I heard yesterday that she has Graves Disease and has been dealing with that issue. Nice to see her in such good form on Sunday. I'm not a big fan of her music, but I admire anyone who is willing to fight back when life slaps you down.

Why on earth would I want to? I dunno. Have you ever just watched something for ENJOYMENT? Or done anything for enjoyment? I mean, yeah, maybe it isn't your thing, but can't you have fun with it for 10 min during the half time show? Sheesh.

It grates on my nerves.

You don't have to love everything to appreciate the skill of others even doing something you don't care for. I couldn't care less about sewing but I am amazed to watch Project Runway or see the creations of my friends and their quilts, etc.

Now that he's gone, I can relax and listen to Joe Bonamassa, Jean Luc Ponty, Bombino, Idan Raichel, Ali Farka Toure and Geoffrey Oryema.

All you need is a bunch of gold chains, pants around your ankles and the ability to speak tacky gibberish on par with Sarah Palin's speeches.

I liked the Kim K commercial - very tongue-in-cheek (LOL) funny. How could you possibly like it? I'm surprised they even aired it. It was just more of her "look at me" self-promotion and her showing off her over-sized and over-enhanced ass. LAME! wow, tell us how you really feel! I thought it was cute. I didn't realize commercials had to be so cerebral and cultured - at the end of the day, it's about companies shoving product down the throat of consumers.

it's platinum now, so you're really dating yourself. Rap is essentially spoken word performed to music. A lot of what's out now is the same message (money, hoes, getting wasted, I'm better than this guy/that guy), but some of the artists (yes, artists) have real and relatable messages (Common, Wale, older Kanye West). Try being a little more open-minded.

It's what she does. And gets paid pretty well to do it. And no busting ass on anyone with a bouncier-than-average badonkadonk. That cushioning is useful sometimes. You know how many times I've fallen on mine and landed right back up on my feet? I think the Super Bowl had its share of the cerebral and the silly in terms of commercials. There's room for both. Of course, by the third quarter, when your brain is sloshed on cheap beer and your gut busted by too many nachos and deep-fried butter-basted bacon-wrapped stuff on a stick, are you really paying attention?

If they could find a way to wear plutonium around their necks, they'd do it. Whoever gets gunned down while wearing the most crap wins.

Because her songs are great? Because over a decade later "Get ur freak on" still makes me shake my booty? Because old Missy Elliott is still worlds better than current pop music? Because I'm a well-rounded individual with varying tastes and know how to have fun? I'm glad to hear you're so well-rounded. Just out of curiousity, who's your favourite classical jazz artist? Fusion jazz artist? Blues artist? Cumbia artist? Tuareg artist? Zouk artist? Soukous artist? Maybe we can compare notes and share some of our favourites.

I like the one that's the most pretentious and impresses the least amount of people.
