My heel cracked yesterday. That is going to put a damper on walking for awhile. I still will, but it really hurts. Get some bag balm! Sent from my HTC One_M8 using proboards I think I have some around somewhere (see how poorly I'm doing in the decluttering thread). Should I just goop it on and put a sock on it for the night? I'm seriously limping around work today. Got a one mile walk in at lunch, but I think I made it worse.

I usually do it after a shower/bath when my feet are nice and clean. Then glop on a bunch, rub it in and put socks on. Just make sure your heel is clean and then throw some on and cover it. it stinks, but it works wonders!

i worked out this morning. I'm trying to convince myself that because vacation is starting saturday it's worth my time to work out tomorrow morning. Since it's supposed to be barely above 0 here tomorrow morning, i'm having a hard time with that. I think i'll just focus on diet this week instead of step count. Plus, even though we are going all -inclusive, i'm pretty sure i won't go crazy with food as I usually am bored with the options by day 2. So I'll eat yogurt, fish, and maybe rice all week. It'll be worth it

Couldn't find the bag balm, but I found a tube of lanolin left over from the breast feeding days and gobbed that on. I hope it helps. I managed to limp my way to 13K steps today, but it was a miserable 13K.

I am way off track. I got sick on Thursday, and from Friday-Sunday we were in Vienna. I forced myself to do everything we planned to do except eat- I wasn't hungry at all, but I couldn't do yoga like I had planned. I started feeling better on the train ride home, and sure enough was back to normal on Monday. I spent the day unpacking, doing laundry, cooking, and planned to get back to my usual routines today. I went to bed at my normal time last night and slept close to 12 hours and I am still tired! I decided to take it easy today too. Must be my body needing to catch back up on sleep. I need to go grocery shopping, but I don't feel like it. Maybe later today...

If I quit walking for a few days I'll lose my momentum. I quit for a few days last August when it was hot and just started up again last week. The lanolin helped. Still hurts, but not as bad. Weigh in day tomorrow!

Weigh in day tomorrow! try some neosporin as well. can you sub in something else for walking? when I have issues with my foot or knee or something that makes walking unpleasant I go for punches instead. it is good cardio and allows your feet time to rest.

I think I ate to much today. It's hard to cook and not eat it.
Breakfast was a can of grapefruit sections packed in its own syrup.
Then I had half a fish sandwich with no cheese and no tartar sauce at McD's.
Nibbled little over quarter cup of chicken salad. Ate a slice of Colby cheese, a piece from one of those little rolls.
Ate a serving of fried potatoes and a serving of corn and green beans. Got maybe a 1/4 cup of blackberry cobbler.
I will not lose weight doing this, heck I will gain weight.
Hubby is here till the 24thl
I need to clean up the kitchen and go to bed. I'm pooped. You need to eat more! You might be holding on to weight if you dont eat enough because your body is starving.

Week #2 in the lose 23 pounds in 23 weeks.
165 pounds. Down 1. Barely. If I shift a little on the scale it goes back to 166.
I'll admit. I'm a little discouraged. I've spent the last week freezing my ass off walking for miles in sub-zero temps with a bum foot and kept my calories under what My Fitness Pal gave me most days.
I have to remember this is a marathon, not a sprint. I can't do it like I do the savings goals.

I need to clean up the kitchen and go to bed. I'm pooped. TOO MUCH?!?! that isn't much at all and very little protein. a piece of Mc Donalds fish and a few bites of chicken salad was the only protein you got all day. that's probably not even 30g. Add in an egg or two with your morning fruit and some grilled meat with your dinner. sometimes micronutrients are more important than calorie count.

I have been basically at a standstill.....my fault, not the scales. Have been eating naughty food and too big of portions. Yo yoing up and down in a 2lb window. Having a good day today though! Water, water, water, also have cereal, fiber bars, cottage cheese and grapes for my work food. Dinner will be Healthy Choice Soup with extra veggies (lent so no meat today!). I am giving up pop completely for lent (I was no longer having at work or home, but was having for treats/roadtrips etc). I ended my gym membership since I am moving, but I am still paid up till 4/5 so I still have the option of using it if I want to. But my focus right now is getting my place packed up and BF's place ready for me to move in, so I probably won't be in the gym. However, packing and cleaning is great excercise! I have about 2 weeks left on my current diet bet and I have to get to 180.9, so time to step up the ambition level! Banker Gurl 184.6lbs (192.8lbs 1/1/15) = Down 8.2lbs Goal Weight = 140lbs

Got weighed in last night and I've lost 21 lbs in 28 days since starting my program!
Working out more frequently has helped, I lost 4.2 pounds this past week. Still working to get the average closer to 7 but I'm not complaining about progress. Heading to the gym tonight for either aqua aerobics or weight lifting, depends on my insane schedule today.

I weighed myself today and I am back in the 170s, so yay! I started back up with yoga yesterday, and I finally got some healthy food at the store. I haven't been back to the gym for cardio, but I plan to start that back up on Saturday. I have a dental cleaning tomorrow and I still use the office from before we moved so they are a few hours away. I won't have time for much else, but I will be back on the straight and narrow this weekend. We are hoping to do some hiking since the snow has melted and we haven't been on a hike in several months.
DH and I had a heart to heart yesterday. He is overweight and has an army physical, probably coming in the next 6 weeks. So I am really concentrating on making healthier food for both of us. He came home for lunch and I made hummus which he used as a spread on a wrap with turkey, pepper jack cheese, and spinach, and he ate some raw veggies with some. I roasted a chicken with potatoes for dinner.

Back to the gym tonight for swimming. Felt really good in the water, better in the hot tub and then FREEZING when I got out. It doesn't help that this gym has 2 showers and both were taken. So glad I'm switching to a new gym at the end of the month. Just making the most of my membership through next Friday and then SWITCH! New gym has a locker room where you can't see everyone changing when you open the door to the hallway. My home scale is soooo off base. It's saying I've lost 3 lbs since Tues when I was 3 lbs heavier at home than at the doctor. No way. I think it's just a crappy scale. Doesn't stop me from stepping on a few times a week though

My life has been a little crazy the past couple of days and I've gotten a little off track. Fortunately, this morning the scale didn't tell me how bad I've been. Today looks much better to accomplish my 10K steps and a better diet.

I get to take the kids to McDonalds tonight and avoid eating anything. Should be fun. Oldest has to catch his ride to camp and there just isn't enough time from the time I get off work until they leave to run or eat anywhere that is not fast food, so McD's it is.

I got....NOTHING! Woohoo! Can't believe I did that. I didn't even steal a french fry from either of them.

I wasnt tempted by Sonic when DH picked up food last night. I had made a skillet of cabbage and sausage, and DD actually ate it for dinner too! But later in the evening i succumbed to the call of the Girl Scout caramel delights DH had bought me as a surprise. Before i realized it, there was one cookie left in the tray. I had DH eat it so i could say i didnt eat the *whole* box. I guess at least the temptation is all gone now?

My niece is selling Girl Scout cookies right now. We usually buy 5 boxes from her (even $20) every year and I can easily down a whole box in one sitting. If I throw them in the freezer they might last longer...not sure.

I started this journey on 2-13-2015 @ 195.2# This morning the scale looked at me and winked as I peeked down to see 192.4.
It's funny how just a little movement in those numbers gives us the incentive to keep at it.

I've come to the realization that I can't outwalk my fork. I'm going to have to focus more on what I'm eating and not cheat so much on MyFitnessPal (like ignoring the fact that I finished DS's yogurt or grabbed some cookie dough when making cookies). It's crazy how much I must normally eat in a day. I keep a lot of things like granola bars and single serving bags of trail mix in the cupboard for kid snacks and lunches. Grabbed a bag of trail mix today and realized (after I was done) that the 2 ounce bag was TWO servings of 140 calories each. OMG. I would easily have 3 or 4 of those bags in a day as snacks before. I've been staying around the 1200 calories this week, but it feels like I'm not eating anything! Breakfast - Fried egg and cheese on whole wheat - 330 Lunch - Small (like a cup) plate of spaghetti with 2 meatballs and no cheese - 400 Snack - the trail mix - 280 <gulp> Dinner - 4 oz chicken breast and cup of rice. - 342 That's over 1300 calories.

I'm a huge fan of Weight Watchers, personally. It's a common sense approach to eating real food.

Yeah, calories can add up fast. For me , combining high protein foods with some calorie dense fats help foods stick with me. Sent from my HTC One_M8 using proboards

I've been lurking on this thread, but I haven't jumped in yet because I'm not sure I'm really committed to working out regularly again. MPL, when I first started eating healthier last year, I quickly realized that the food that's good for me isn't very filling. I wasn't trying to cut back, just stop eating out all the time and eat more fruits and vegetables and less processed foods. One morning a coworker wanted me to try some apple slices and yogurt dip. I didn't like the yogurt dip, but I ate the apple slices. And I immediately felt like I was starving, whereas I didn't even feel hungry before I ate the apple. It was very confusing. Within an hour, I'd eaten everything in my lunch bag. Lunch, snacks and all. All that to say that I understand how trying to change your eating habits in any way can be difficult. You can do it though. I hope you find your groove soon.

Pink, I've found that certain foods can trigger an eating binge. Anything with toffee in it, like a Heath bar.....bar the door! Same thing with glazed donuts. Since I know this now happens I simply don't eat (or try not to) those things. Maybe that's what happened with the apple. Put 5# bag of M & Ms in front of me and I'll eat the whole thing within an hour.
When I really want something sweet, I'll try some caramel ice cream topping, it's really sweet and a 1T or so is enough to stop the craving, and it's not something that triggers the eating binge.
Nice to have you with us BTW....

something that helps me immensely is watching a show on YouTube called "supersize vs. superskinny" it's made in the UK and while it's not perfect, there are some redeeming features. - they touch on both ends of the spectrum. Over and under eating and how each is dangerous.
- using the food diaries they show the participants how much food they're eating in a week. That right there helped me cut back before I started my fast.
- participants swap meals, seeing other people forced to eat what they're accustomed to is really eye opening
- there's a follow up segment so you can see how they look after a few months.
- the doctor who hosts it is adorable.
In earlier seasons they have really obnoxious side pieces about exercise and food psychology but also interview and follow people with eating disorders so all in all it's quite fascinating. Another one that you can watch full episodes on via YouTube is Extreme Weight Loss where the people spend a year with a trainer and lose 100-250 lbs. Not something I'd ever want to do but cool to see how hard they work and transform over a year. (I may not agree with everything on these shows but still will watch to get inspired to keep going myself!) Back to the doctor's today and hoping for a 4# loss. I weighed in last Tuesday but have been sick all weekend so I didn't get in as much exercise as usual. This would put me at 25 lbs in 5 weeks which is right on average.

I slipped up and had a macadamia nut cookie at work today. I'd been doing so well avoiding all the doughnuts and other baked goods. But, a guy was actually going from cube to cube begging people to take them. That was way too much pressure for me. It was really good though.
