Okay has anyone tried the Fit Chicks "Fierce in 8" Workout system ? I'm ordering this today. All 10 video's that I've seen on it I like and I've been doing the exercises here from what I seen on the videos. I just got this in the mail today. They are going to be on "Dragon's Den" in the Springtime.

Lost 3.4 lbs this past week so just short of my goal. in 5 weeks that's 24.5 lbs so I'm still working on upping my exercise.

Like WW, the THM diet is good because it incorporates real foods and just changes up how you pair them together. Like the apple - it makes you hungry because the fructose in the apple causes blood sugar to spike. Eat some protein and a small amount of fat with it to avoid that (peanut butter, cheese, handful of almonds). Donuts would make you hungry because they are all carbs/sugar without the protein. It avoids mixing fat and carbs together in the same meal but doesn't make one food group entirely off-limits (except white sugar and most unsprouted/fermented white flour products). I've been planning my meals around a protein source - meat, yogurt, protein shake. Then add in either fats or carbs but not both together. So dinner could be chicken (baked, no skin or fat but plenty of seasonings), brown rice (low-glycemic carbs - kept under 45g), and all the green beans I want (baked, no butter, some garlic salt). Or I could have "pasta" - spiralized zucchini with a rich cream sauce (fats) & shrimp (protein). Breakfasts are bacon & eggs with spinach (fats) or greek yogurt with oatmeal and berries (carbs). Lunches are romaine leaves stuffed with deli meat & cheese (fats) or rye crackers/sourdough bread with tuna (carbs). I range from about 1300 calories to well over 2000 calories. Each day is different. Keeps the body guessing Overall the foods I am eating are MUCH healthier and the way I've lost weight has been different too. My body is shaping up the way I want it to instead of just getting deflated boobs

Sam_2.0 After reading your menu (and others here). I've decided I seriously eat like crap. I grew up having a freezer full of Totinos pizzas. My Mom worked until 6 and I would make myself that or mac and cheese starting in like 2nd grade. It's really hard to break away from the convenience foods. I have a few things I'll cook, but not great. I think older son is a lost cause, but younger son I've done better with...or he just has different tastes and not all the texture issues older son struggled with.

It's a work in progress, MPL One thing that helps is just not buying the junk when I grocery shop. When if DH wants pizza, he has to go out & get one or order one. We are lazy, so then it's easier to eat what I have on-hand (or DH is solely in charge of the meal and I don't care!!!). DD is pretty good about eating her veggies and loves to peel her "Royal" eggs (boiled eggs) I do use a lot of shortcuts though - frozen salmon fillets, frozen veggies, pre-grilled chicken breast strips, instant brown rice, big tubs of greek yogurt, frozen berries, etc. I hate to cook so I want things to be thrown together pretty fast. It works for us for right now. Reminds me I need to go hit up TJs for some canned/jarred stuff for baby J. He's about ready to eat solid foods and I have nothing really on-hand that's easy for him.

I have my breakfast drink made from 1/4C fresh strawberries, 1/2C fat free cottage cheese and either crystal lite or the Diet V8 fruit juice. Toss it all into my little Ninja and there is enough liquid juice or flavored water to make it a nice consistency.
Lunch is either 1 scrambled egg and 2 pieces of sausage or 3 of those really thin microwave bacon slices. Some days instead I will make a salad or have a veggie plate with a hard boiled egg.
Dinner usually is lean meat of some kind a salad or a couple of veggies. I do allow 2 snacks per day, mostly mornings in a piece of cheese and afternoon is a couple of Triscuit crackers with some cream cheese on them.
And water, lots and lots of water. I would love to have a Vitamix to make some veggie, fruit and leafy greens into a smoothie, but darn, they are so expensive.

BG - are you eating enough calories in a day? that list seems awfully light. I haven't stepped on the scale in a few days, but I got a nice compliment from my mom when I stopped over my lunch hour to pick up a couple things from her house. she opened the front door and was like "you got skinny!" I haven't seen her in about 3 weeks, and I am pretty well insulated today in a huge Black Dog hoodie. maybe it was the skinny jeans tucked into boots? whatever, I'll take it!

We were eating a lot of chicken breast (on the George Foreman) and rice (white) with a frozen veggie in those steamer bags. Then I got sick of chicken and we quit for a long time, but started up again. We get lots of greek yogurt too, and big bags of frozen pre-cooked fajita chicken for older son's chicken wraps that he makes for lunch a lot...mostly chicken, cheese, hot sauce and ranch. But, there are also big frozen bags of fish sticks, chicken nuggets, french fries, meatballs...
Younger son eats more veggies than older son and I combined. His favorite lunch is red bell peppers, carrots, a cheese stick and a turkey sandwich.

I'm still trying to walk 10K per day and most days I make it, it's just taking a lot more work this time that it did 10 years ago.

I don't like cooking at all. I cooked less after my kids reached mid to late teens and pretty much stopped when my kids moved out. My decision to eat better included eating more fruits (like, any at all) and vegetables. I won't bother with eating fruit by itself and I struggle with vegetables that are prepared in a better-for-you way than I'm use to eating them, so smoothies are my friend. The fruit covers the taste of the vegetables and there's no cooking required.
I also eat a lot of salads at home, to avoid cooking. I'm pretty sure it was less than a month before I'd eaten more salads than I'd eaten in my entire life. Salads have never been high on the list of things I want to eat, but now I tolerate them because they've became convenient for what I've been trying to do. I still refuse to order a salad at a restaurant though. lol
Soooo..... I didn't work out yesterday as planned. I envy my coworker that finds exercise is an immediate stress reliever for her. Hopefully I'll get to that point one day, so that stressful days won't be the reason I don't work out.

I tend to operate the same way (which can be dangerous for someone with low blood sugars) but you still run the risk of tricking your body into starvation mode if you don't have enough calories. if you aren't hungry but know you need to snack on something, look at higher calorie/protein options. you said cheese, that's good. peanut butter, aomonds and avocado are all healthy fat options to boost calories when you aren't all that hungry. sent from my electronic distraction

eh...got the kids Papa Murphy's pizza tonight. I only let myself have one slice though, instead of my normal 2-3. I'm still only at 1189 calories for the day and it tasted so gooooood. I need to eat slower and enjoy my food. I inhaled it. For those that use MyFitnessPal, do you eat your exercise calories? I have my Fitbit linked to it and it's always throwing a few hundred more on there. My Mom keeps telling me to ignore them, that I'm not really burning that much walking (she puts on like 25K steps a day and ignores hers).

I'm not sure we can be friends anymore! lol.... now going back to the app to read/respond to anything else. I couldn't see the edit from the app. (my major complaint, moon! since you asked...)

MPL, I don't use mfp regularly, other than to calculate single meals quickly. my unhealthy food issues have to do with turning myself anorexic as soon as numbers come into play. that said, you absolutely need to eat the calories you burn. the goal is a net deficit, without going below 1200 (starvation) sent from my electronic distraction

And full disclosure - i am having wine (on-plan) with chex mix (so not on-plan). But yummy!

I have my Fitbit linked to it and it's always throwing a few hundred more on there. My Mom keeps telling me to ignore them, that I'm not really burning that much walking (she puts on like 25K steps a day and ignores hers). I didn't pay attention to what the fitbit flex would input to my sparkpeople account. I would just delete those entries. In order to hit at least 10k steps I was walking several hours a day with my dogs at a brisk pace which was showing up as thousands of calories burned each day on the fitbit. Well, that might have been my total burn including my resting metabolic rate, but I sure as heck didn't burn that much just walking 4-5 miles. I think if you are just using the fitbit website you might be okay, but I think the issue is the way the fitbit calculates your calorie burn is different than the way other weight loss websites are set up. So if you import the data from the fitbit it looks like you did more "exercise" than you really did. I'm trying to get myself right too, but I just keep overeating. Especially after I exercise. I didn't walk the dogs this morning. I don't want to go to the gym, and I need to go to the grocery store to get some healthy food. I feel like just staying in the house, but it is nice out. I guess I will eat my last banana and then get the dogs out for a bit. Then I won't feel guilty about going to the gym, and maybe I'll find my motivation after I'm outside a bit.

No... I find that my fitbit flex overestimates my daily calories burn by quite a bit. It has be burning at least 3000 calories a day just with walking to get my 10k steps a day, most of which I get during day to day commute and walking and such. If I believed it, I could eat 2000 calories a day and still lose 2lbs a week, which is hilarious. My old fit bit had me at about 2400 to 2700 when I did 10k steps plus a decent workout.
I try and stick to 1300-1700 depending on my activity for the day.

I think my new cool designed scale is a piece of junk!!! According to it last night I gained 2# yesterday. If I get on it then wait 30 minutes my weight varies up to 1#. I think I'll go back to my old one.

Sweet weigh-in this morning. 161. Down 4 pounds for the week. 7/23 pounds lost! 3/23 weeks down. bobosensei and sarcasticgirl My Fitbit isn't as bad about estimating calories as either of yours. Like yesterday, I had over 14K steps and it has me at 2388 calories burned for the day. MFP added 461 calories for exercise saying I could have 1661. I've still been ignoring them for the most part.

I just got back on my new scale. Since I got up this morning, it says I've gained 1.2# in the last 1.5 hours. BS Never knew 1C of raisin bran with 2/3C of milk weighed so much.

Your weight fluctuates all day long. mine can vary 5+ pounds throughout the day. That is why it is wise to always weigh yourself around the same time of day and under the same conditions. Ladies (and gents) - fell off the face of the earth during/after my ski trip. The terrible news is between the crappy snow (only one day of x-country skiing) and availability of crappy foods due to being in a house with 7 dudes, I gained weight. I mean, like GAINED WEIGHT. 6# in 7 days. Since then, it's been snow after snow after blizzard after snow so my routine has been all out of whack. I got back in the gym last week and am starting to take it off again. The routine feels like such a relief. I'm back down 4 pounds and feeling pretty okay. The good news is I'm still booze free for 2015 including while on vacation! I'll likely drop off for another while here, I just can't keep up with posting or reading right now. Check ya later!

I've decided to start incorporating water into my "get fit" campaign. I hate water. But, I put a 32 ounce bottle at my desk this morning, and I'm going to force myself to finish it before I leave today. I do have some Propel packs and I'm considering spiking it, but I probably shouldn't...

I put acv and lemon extract in my water - makes a tart lemonade taste. For some reason if it's flavored I drink a lot more. Or with a straw, I always drink more with a straw.
Hit goal weight today - I now weigh what I did when I got married. YAY! Not bad for 5.5 years and 3 babies later. We are getting a 2nd jogging stroller on Sunday from a friend at church. DH wants to get out with the kids and this way we can each push a stroller to share the load (and each have something to lean on while we get back into it, hahaha!).
