I hadn't weighed myself in a while, but I've noticed my pants are still getting even tighter. One pair of jeans, I don't even wear to work anymore, because I can barely squeeze into them anymore and that's uncomfortable. My shirts don't seem to fit any tighter, it's just my bottom half. So I got on the scale this morning and sure enough, I've gained some more weight. It said 147. The only time I've ever weighed that much was when I was pregnant with my kids. And no, I'm not pregnant. Anyway, I rode my bike this morning, 15.5 miles in an hour and 22 minutes. When I started, my bike computer said it was 87 degrees (at 8:30am!) and when I stopped, it said 95 degrees. I wasn't miserably hot, I think my clothing helps a lot, plus a lot of the trail is shaded. And I learned that I can get my water bottle out of the cage, take a few sips and put it back up, all while I'm still riding. I didn't have to slow down much and I didn't even wobble. I don't know what was special about this morning, but there were a lot of nice-looking men on the trail jogging and riding bikes. They were a nice addition to the usual scenery.

If I remember correctly, you were trying to lose pounds, just up your fitness level, correct? I assume under 150 you are at a pretty healthy weight, right? My guess is that your pants are tight and you have the weight gain from gaining muscle from those awesome bike rides. If you are bothered by the gain, I would hair spend a few days tracking calories. Just to make sure you aren't overeating a bit due to amped up hunger or even possibly undereating. Which oddly... Can cause a gain as well. Sent from my HTC One_M8 using proboards

Sent from my HTC One_M8 using proboards You're correct, I was just trying to up my fitness level. I have a bit of fat I could stand to lose, but I'm not too concerned with weight. Well, except I don't really want to have to buy a whole new wardrobe. I'm inclined to believe it is the muscles in my thighs growing, since that's where I'm having problems with my clothes. Last night I had on some yoga pants puttering around the house and DD said "are your legs getting bigger? They look like sausages in those pants with those creases around your knees". Ummm..... thanks? I'm not bothered just yet. If I keep gaining, I'll start tracking my calories again. I really hate I can't get the MFP app on my phone. It made tracking so much easier. Thanks for sharing your thoughts!

So, something strange has happened in the last few weeks. I normally don't care too much for chips or french fries. Usually I crave them when I am PMSing, have them maybe 2 or 3 times in a month, tops. However, I find myself totally addicted! The chips are plain. usually a sea salt kettle chip. or lightly salted. So it isn't the worst thing in the world for me, and I don't find french fries to be the devil either, since I don't typically eat fried foods. To me, eating fries is better than eating some random crap from a box with half a dozen ingredients that I can't pronounce. But OMG I am eating chips practically every single day and having fries once a week! I am working them into my calorie allotment for the day, but I have noticed that since I started this addiction, weight loss has slowed and I feel bloated- because HELLO SODIUM! so, time to put that in check. In the past 2 months, I am down about 13 pounds. Out of the 200s and into the 100s. Though the number on the scale isn't my main focus, that is a nice milestone to hit. Once I haven't seen in quite a few years. I've shrunk out of nearly all of my shorts for the summer which is great, but also sucks. I haven't been great at adding in core and strength training, but that will be my focus going forward.

I rode 15.5 miles again today. I was not a happy camper when I left the house, but I felt much better after my ride. On the way home, I turned the CD player on in the car and Adele's CD was the first one I got to. I cranked it up and sang with her at the top of my lungs all the way home. The air was on, but I had the sunroof open and the windows down a little, hoping the wind would help my hair dry faster. And I can't sing. I'm sure I looked and sounded a mess. I don't know what made me wake up that day and decide to go buy a bike on a whim, but I'm so, so happy I did it. I kind of wish I'd done my homework and bought a different kind of bike, but I mostly don't care since my little bike got me started riding and enjoying it.

Not good day. Really need to get in some steps.
One of the people I really like at work is no longer with the company. Got caught in a horrendous thunderstorm on my lunch time walk.
Have eaten nothing but junk since I got home.
Oh well rant over need to get in my steps need to get in my steps oh wait my shoes are still wet.

The wind has kinda gone out of my sails and I've lost my motivation. But I'm leaving work at 4 to go to the gym today. And I've made an appointment with a nutritionist next week who can hopefully give me a realistic view of what/how much I should be eating. You guys have been GREAT but I am feeling a little lost on my own!

missk82 - *hugs* i understand how frustrating it can be! You've just had a kid and are nursing so you have a whole lot of things going on with your body that most of us don't. the nutritionist should hopefully be able to guide you in the right direction and you'll start seeing the fruits of your labor! Don't get up though, because even if the number isn't changing you are building great habits, improving your cardiovascular system and building lean muscle!

p.s. I have a new addiction... adding Bacon and Avacado to chicken breast or turkey burgers (without the bun) OH MY GOD -YUM! It is such a great balance of protein and fat that I stay full for hours and hours. I had it today on a turkey burger patty and chances are dinner will just be a smallish snack. I certainly didn't miss the bun!

I hate stinky cheeses, which is what most places put in them, so I just leave it out. and there's no croutons, like you leaving the bun out. yay that you found a good filling option! sent from my electronic distraction

Took the anger I felt at my co worker leaving and stepped furiously ended up with a little over 15,000. I am currently in second place in my work challenge.
It is a beautiful evening off to take a walk.

My mom is town this week, so even though we are eating out a lot, she loves to walk, so we've been getting our steps in (17,000 total for the day!). I've also managed to convince her that we don't need something fried every.single.night for dinner. Tonight it was a cobb salad that was to die for and a turkey club. We split all of it, and the salad was so big, my half filled me up! I brought the rest of the sandwich home and will eat the turkey and bacon without the bread tomorrow, so not terrible.
I haven't been feeling great this week and I was up a couple pounds. Turns out, my TOM decided to make a random appearance (doesn't happen often due to BC). Glad to know that the weight fluctuation and random icky-ness I was feeling have a real reason to them and will be gone in other day or two!
Keep up the good work ladies!

Had an appointment with my Dr. Today to go over blood work. So happy to have gotten several smiley faces! I am no longer anemic!!! My iron is finally up as well as vitamin D and B12. My A1C (blood sugar avg over 3 months) went down, a year ago I was 0.1 into the pre diabetic stage a year ago is down quite a bit and safely away from pre diabetic. My cholesterol has straightened itself out. (My overall cholesterol was low, my bad cholesterol was high) it is all better now. I still have one test that is showing high inflammation and so my Dr. Has another test for me to get to the root of that.
So all in all, good news today. My Dr. And I were so happy that she figured out the right combo of supplements to get the job done. - FYI they are all natural, no chemicals.
Weight down over 10 pounds a few inches gone and yeah, feeling motivated to make more good stuff happen.

The chance of returning to a normal weight after becoming obese is only one in 210 for men and one in 124 for women over a year, research suggests.
Now that is discouraging.
why is that so discouraging?!?! just work hard and be that ONE! I'm certainly not discouraged.

What is your height, @pinkcshmere? I'm 5'4" and 141-ish pounds. Being over 140 has only happened three other time--my two pregnancies and summer of 2013. Since January 2014, I've been 134-137. Since April 2015, I've gone up to 145. My clothes are not fitting well right now.
We just went on a big family vacation with 25 other family members. I ate horribly and am now incredibly bloated. I did track calories today, and managed to stay where I wanted to. I'm hoping I can quickly recover.

I haven't been getting any exercise at all. Not sure what's going on but I've been completely exhausted the last few weeks and getting very, very little sleep. Tried a natural sleep aide Friday night and as usual it just made me feel weird and I got even less sleep than usual.
On the plus side I have been mostly mindful of eating healthy (cheesecake notwithstanding) and haven't gone over my calorie goal. So there is still a slight overall downward movement on the scale. Now that the we're no longer alternating between wildfires and horrible thunderstorms and wind I need to at least start trying to go for a walk each night.

As of yesterday in first place in my challenge. That is the good news. Bad new is closest competitor is leaving Wednesday on a trip where the mode of transportation will be walking. He will be back several days before the challenge ends. I will not know what his numbers are during the trip.
Still going with the idea of 400,000 steps and if I get that number for the month I am a winner.
Weight down .6 for the week. Need to get the calorie intake under control.
Have a great week everyone.

OOO, good challenge, Ners! Can you stand and step at your desk at work? Maybe get some boxes to place your keyboard & monitors on to raise them up if needed? I've been doing terrible on exercise. But baby figured out how to escape the temporary gate so we decided to remove it and install one permanent gate at the big stair case. He can manage the 2-3 steps between the living room and kitchen just fine. And we locked the cabinet under the sink. Now I can't sit & rest at all because he is in to EVERYTHING. Good news is that it keeps me super busy

Back from Alaska. Walked alot more than usual but also ate a lot of sugar (also traveling with family Knee Deep in Water Chloe). Starting over ~~~ @patstab, if we are all the "1" then that just means those without encouragement from friends are SOL Sam_2.0, I was always thinner when chasing babies / toddlers ... no time to eat & lots of stooping / lifting weights (aka: little ones)

Knee Deep in Water Chloe, I'm just under 5'6'. I got up to 140 over a decade ago when I had the birth control shot. I lost that weight when the shot wore off. I got up to 143 last year when I started doing bodyweight workouts. And got into the 140's again these last couple months when I started riding my bike. Outside of those brief periods, for the last 15 years or so, I've usually been in the middle 130's. A lot of my pants aren't fitting well right now either. Some of them don't fit at all anymore. I just got back from a short get-away to a lakefront cabin near Hot Springs, Arkansas. I had "Hungry Man" breakfasts both times we went out. We only went out for dinner once and I had grilled fish and vegetables. Yesterday we grilled our own food, steaks, shrimp, Italian sausages, ears of corn, potatoes, mushrooms, onions and peppers. That was lunch and dinner. Oh, I also had lots of alcohol. I had a great time! I missed my bike lol. I plan on hitting the trail first thing tomorrow morning.

@pinkcshmere, I'm 5'7.5" & would love to be able to stick below 143. Hasn't happened since my 30s. I'll be content if I can stick at 155. That'd be 24.3 high but normal BMI. MD is ok with my pre-trip weight (waist to hip ratio + BFA + BMI) but I wasnt. Really not happy now. All that work to back slide in 1 week

It isn't going to read it as an elliptical work out. What kind of fit bit do you have? If you have a new one with a HRM, then p you can click the button to go into work out mode and it will register your workout. Just click the button to stop it when you are done and you can see the workout stats. Otherwise, you can manually log the workout. Sent from my Nexus 10

I think I was just blessed with a high metabolism or whatever it is that keeps you from gaining weight even when you eat a lot and it's rarely healthy food. I didn't really get interested in eating better and exercising until last year. I've just been very lucky with my weight and health. But our goals are still similar..... to take care of ourselves and our health, even if our paths are different. :-)
