DD (pre-baby) and I use to be the same "size" and looked very different. The only thing that was exactly same was our clothing sizes, but the same piece of clothing would look different on us. She was slim but curvy, I was just slim. And I weighed more than she did. We were just built differently.

Since I'd waited so long on the bike riding, trying to see what the weather was going to do, I decided to do the sensible thing and tackle my yard again and get that out the way. Of course the sun came out full strength soon after I started. I'm seriously considering finding room in my budget to pay for someone else to deal with my yard. Even if I have to give up something fun. Being an adult sucks sometimes. I wanna playyyyy.

I say, find some room in the budget if you can. Sometimes, those smallish luxuries feel like they are worth a million bucks. I bet this will be the case for you when you don't have to endure the heat!

It isn't that bad if I don't let it get out of control. Last week, I'd waited too long and I paid for it. But keeping it under control means I have to get out there more often. My backyard isn't small, but I don't think it's quite big enough to justify a riding mower. Those darn boxwoods grow slowly, so if I ever get them completed, I won't have to trim them often. I can get away with trimming and edging the yard every other week, but mowing really needs to be done once a week. At the rate I'm going, I'll have everything in tip top shape just in time for fall. And yes, I'm realizing that not being a slave to my yard the past 6 or 7 years was quite freeing. lol Anyway, I promise I won't whine about my yard all day today.

Yard is done. DD took pity on me and mowed the front. I did the trimming. A couple more wrestling sessions and maybe my yard will look like my yard again. lol
I'm all showered, my hair is clean. Now I want to go ride my bike, then I'll have to do it all again. I'm hell on my water supply, washing machine and dryer these days.
It hasn't rained again all day. Sometimes I want to go pinch the weather man.

You need to post some pics of your hard work in the yard, Pink Went to a lunch meeting yesterday - of course I ate what they had there which was sandwiches, chips, sodas, and cookies. I've not eaten that much bread/carbs in a long time. I felt so sick. And then when I got home mom offered to take DD for the night so DH and I jumped on the opportunity to have dinner out (DS is still easy-going and not a hassle to take out, lol!). DH wanted mexican so we had jumbo margaritas, chips & chori dip, etc. I did get a meal that was just grilled chicken, shrimp, peppers, and cheese. Fed the beans & rice to DS and he nearly ate the whole plate full!! It was pretty funny, as soon as they set the chips on the table he looked at the cheerios in front of him, batted them to the floor, and tried to crawl up on the table to get some chips. Kid knows what's up

Even though I *know* I'm not supposed to get on the scale every day, I did check my weight again today and it was 221. 3. Phew! Not great, but less than yesterday. Tomorrow is my official weigh-in day, and after that, I will try to keep myself off the scale for a week. Or at least 4 days!
I ate pretty well yesterday, my main slip up was a handful of mini chocolate chips.
Today's food plan: Breakfast: overnight oats, coffee with cream half a muffin (oops, but it was in the break room...) Lunch: turkey sandwich Available snacks: carrots and dip, apple, hardboiled eggs, half a PB sandwich Dinner: Garlic chicken, corn, maybe another side

That does look like too many calories... maybe you've got some extra salt in there that needs to be flushed out?

sarcasticgirl I drink a ton of water at work. I could probably drink more in the evenings and weekends. Maybe 6 to 8 of those Tervis cups a day at work? I am still nursing and pumping so I try to keep myself well-hydrated.

missk82 you are still nursing... are you eating enough calories? I thought nursing moms needed a pretty decent amount of calories. But I am not a mom, nor have I ever nursed, so I really could be totally wrong.

sarcasticgirl I honestly don't know. Sam_2.0 has brought up the same issue.

I definitely don't let myself go hungry. That's why I keep a lot of snacks on hand at work and I don't feel bad eating them. I'm not counting calories, but am trying to eat less sugar and white carbs and will see where that gets me. I do feel a little lost. But I thought I'd try this first before adding calories...honestly this is the heaviest I've ever been and it's a daily struggle to deal with it and try to figure out what to do. I just don't know....

I track just to make sure I get ENOUGH calories. You need about 600 calories per day just for milk. I do best when I have 2,500-3,000 calories per day (as long as it's the right foods!). If I get below that my weight actually goes up and my milk supply goes down.

Sam_2.0, despite all my whining about my yard, it's actually very plain. It's just grass and those darn boxwoods. I've never even planted a flower lol. It's just usually weed-free (or close to it) and very neat and I'm having trouble with the weeds and getting it back as neat as I like it. I really think all the weeds are from letting mowers that have been all over everywhere in my yard to cut the grass last summer. I've never had so many weeds. I got busy doing other stuff around the house yesterday and didn't ride my bike. Late last night I woke up to what sounded like somebody pounding on my roof. It was hail. I'd never heard anything like that so I got up to turn the tv on and see what the heck was going on. Needless to say, we had a pretty bad storm last night and the worst of it was right where I live. It's suppose to rain again in a few hours. I'm about to get dressed and go see what the trail looks like. For real this time. I've gotten off track with my bike riding, not riding as often. There are increased chances for rain over the next few days, so I'm going to take my chances today.

missk82 - Depending on what ingredients you have... i am guessing your calories can't be more than maybe 1200ish, unless you are eating large portions or calorie laden condiments. I would track an average day and just see where you are. If sam has to keep her calories pretty high for nursing, it may be worth a try for a week and see how it works for you. Just keep the calories coming from healthy foods and you could be surprised.

sarcasticgirl Probably every morning I should update the previous day with what I actually ate! Usually not too far off the mark, but sometimes I'll have something else after dinner like cereal or popcorn, etc. But yeah, it might be worth a try to track and see where I am. I'm not against adding calories, I just don't want it to backfire. Ideally I should already have plenty stored up to make milk for the little one! But it doesn't always work that way!

It doesn't really matter what you have stored. If you aren't feeding your body enough right now it will still think you are starving. And it may even try to store MORE!

Ran to the store for lunch today. Wanted something fairly healthy, but LOTS of food because I was so hungry. I got a Dole Chopped Salad kit (sunflower) and a Oscar Mayer carving board diced chicken breast. I dumped the whole salad kit in a big bowl, topped with the whole container of chicken, and used about 1/3rd of the dressing. Shook it all up. I looked at the ingredients and realized I had about 80g of protein! That should keep me pretty darn full!!

I rode 12.5 miles today. Toward the end of my ride an armadillo wandered out on the path in front of my bike. WTH?! It really startled me. I rode past it then stopped and turned around and take a picture of it, but by the time I finished fumbling with my phone it was gone. The only time I've ever seen an armadillo has been on the side of the highway on road trips. I had no idea there were any in this area. Uh-oh..... I don't think there are really bears around here either. Could I be wrong about that too? LOL! Then, when I got going again, some kind of bug smacked me on my chest. I never saw what it was, but it had to be big because it thumped me hard. On my skin! and EEK! Ride aborted. I couldn't get to a shower fast enough. All the way home, I kept looking in the visor mirror and scratching, wondering if something was crawling on me. Maybe I should start calling the creepy trail the Animal Kingdom instead. At least the armadillo didn't run in fast circles on the path until he ran smack into the side of my bike tire while I was trying to avoid him, like a nutty squirrel did a few weeks ago. I felt a good thunk when he hit it, but he bounced off and kept running and thankfully, I didn't even almost fall. I don't even try to avoid them anymore, they move way too fast and can't decide which way they want to go. I haven't hit another one since. Well, technically I think that one hit me. It took an hour and 8 minutes to ride 12.5 miles today. I keep thinking maybe I should starting working toward some kind of goals, especially since I seem to be getting a little faster. But I can't decide if I want to just aim for riding for a certain length of time or try to ride a certain number of miles and slowly increase it. I don't want to aim for speed, because I'd have to be a superstar to be able to really ride fast on my mountain bike unless I'm going down a hill. -secret-Which is why I kind of want a road bike now, if I could ride faster, I'd feel a little more comfortable riding on the streets and wouldn't have to drive so far to ride all the time. But I try not to think about that too much and I dare not say anything about wanting another bike to anyone that knows about my recent bike purchase.
Have a good evening everyone!

Ate a potato chip ... y'know why they say you can't eat just 1 Potato chips are one thing I won't give up. I just buy plain lightly salted. Or kettle chips with sea salt. With everything else I am forced to give up for my allergies, I am not ditching chips! Sent from my HTC One_M8 using proboards

Lotsa walking in today. Went for a nice walk this afternoon as a late "lunch" with a co-worker. We're going to take adavantage of nice days and do that more often instead of going to the gym.
Took the dog out for a nice walk tonight too. Almost 13000 steps for the day.

Alright, so I weighed in again this morning - 223. So I'm going with y'all's suggestion to increase my calories. I found this link: nutritiondata.self.com/tools/calories-burned and when I put in my info it suggests that I need 2700 calories. That does include taking nursing into account. So - we will see! I'll go back to the THM link you sent me, Sam_2.0, but does anyone have any suggestions of what to add to my diet or eat more of? Thanks!

If you're just looking to add calories, spoons of peanut butter. Do you like avocado? A whole one is 300-350 cals. Also cheese is calorie dense, I used to eat a lot of chunks of cheddar when nursing.

Missk - nuts, protein shakes, good fats (avocados, coconut oil, etc). Butter up those veggies!! Eggs are great too.

I've been doing really good at tracking my food intake...and being honest about it! There were only a couple of days last month that I went over my allotment, and it wasn't by an embarrassing amount.
Didn't do so well on exercise last month. I run outside and the air quality overall has been horrible. I tried going out for a run last night and got horrible shinsplints. Thought I was past that stage, but apparently not. I can still feel it a bit today. Think I'll cancel today's run and just go for a walk.
