Up 2lbs today. Guess that's what 3 Guinness and half a bowl of crab rangoon dip will do But boy was that dip yummy! At least I ate it with celery instead of chips.

I let my arch nemesis in my house! Blue Bunny Peanut Butter Panic ice cream. I seriously could sit down and eat an entire container of that in one sitting. Normally I wouldn't choose to buy it at all because I know my will power there, but I told the boys they could each pick out whatever kind of ice cream they wanted and older son picked that. Younger son chose mint chocolate chip. That one is safe.

So, it was another late night with the kids in town with swim lessons and scouts and younger son was losing it. I broke down and took them through McDonalds drive thru on the way home because it was going to be way too late to make anything when we got home. I figured I'd just get myself a McChicken and that would be fine. Well, at the window to get our food they ask me if I cared for a free chocolate shake! Ok, this appeals to me on so many levels, FREE and CHOCOLATE. I was like "uh-ya', I'll take a free chocolate shake!". So, all the way home I slurped away on this thing knowing it was probably bad, but whatever, tasted great. I wouldn't even share with the kids. Punched it in on MyFitnessPal, and OMG. 850 calories?!? I really had no clue they were THAT bad. So, with that and the McChicken I met my daily calorie goal on dinner alone. Should have skipped breakfast and lunch!

MPL- that happened to me once at some place like steak and shake. I found out after I had a shake that it was 900 calories. I wanted to puke it up right then and their. I literally live right next door to a McDonald's and I am so glad that the only thing I am even remotely interested in eating from that place is an ice cream cone. And even that is a rare occasion.

well I definitely think the scale in my hotel room is WAY off but as long as it keeps steady this weekend I'll be fine. Already walked close to 10k steps and still have a couple hours of walking to do tonight. My biggest challenge will be the whole unlimited factor of this resort but I do plan to make the healthiest choices I can!

Both my scales finally moved. I have to admit it was getting a little discouraging. All this walking and careful eating and there than scale sat just doing nothing.
As of today it is an official: 188. That's 14 pounds gone and 28 to go.

Well I don't know, when I left home I weighed on the doctor type scale and it was 176.5. I weighed this morning on the little one in the motorhome and it said 179.5, so now I don't have a clue.
My goal weight is 160. DD and I walked around a rest stop today while stopped. I felt sluggish and tired, it helped.
I'm having salmon grilled tonight, DD some spinach cheese lean pockets, she said yuck. Sorry kiddo.
I hope in 3 weeks I can at least make the scale move. I would like to at least get to 170, that would make me happy for now. If you are using a different scale, it is generally not going to be the same. My scale is never the same as the one at the gym or the one at the doctor. Sent from my HTC One_M8 using proboards

When I was at the hospital this past Wednesday I was weighed 115 lbs and I want to get down to around 90 lbs first and see how I feel. I'm only 4 foot 6 inches tall and I got a gut, that's where my excess weight is located.
I bought iceberg lettuce, tomatoes, yellow peppers, honey tangerines, green apples and macintosh apples. It's Spring so now the good foods are coming out.
So onward and upward I go.

Ok, i'm ready to kick butt this year. 2014 was good until about June, then I feel like i started slacking off. I'm in a good place weight wise, but I'd like to be more toned. I slacked on strength training and running. So, my fitness goals are going to be: add an extra day of strength training and an extra running day. I'll still aim for 5 days a week of working out-usually 3 days during the week before work and both weekend days. And, of course, I'm aiming for a minimum of 10,000 steps a day. If I just could keep on track for January, I'd feel better about things. PLUS-we are spending a week at the beach in February-I'd like to look good in my bathing suit I bet you will look great in your bathing suit... but here is the question: Why are so many women, so obsessed about their bodies?...................we love you.

I don't want to be skinny, I want health. This fat on my gut is bad on the joints and on my heart and lungs. There is fat in my liver. It's just got to go.

It's not always obsession about how your body looks, IMO. Often, it's more a concern about how you feel, both emotionally and physically. I don't have a problem with weight gain. I have the opposite problem. I have to fight to keep my weight up to within normal ranges. If it gets too low, I just don't feel well. At my age, I'm not particularly concerned with how I might look to someone else, to be honest.

I'm not some kind of health coach...so i don't know. Lets say, if you are the typical woman at 5'4' or 5"5 you should be below 120 pounds...or so. Or am I wrong?

It's about being healthy, not weight loss. Get moving and eat better quality foods.

A larger bone structure will support more weight while a smaller bone structure will require less weight. Muscle weighs more than fat, so a muscular person will weigh more than one less muscular. It's pretty individualized, really. Most folks are able to tell by the way they feel whether their weight is right for them and, of course, if one is obese one knows one is obese. Obesity leads to all sorts of problems so getting the weight off can really solve some potentially serious problems.

At my 4 foot 6 inch height, my ideal weight is around 85 lbs. But I'm not going for weight loss as much as being healthier.

This is why we're so obsessed with our weight! I'm 5'5" and I don't think I've been below 120 since high school. A "good" weight for me is about 140. I got about 18 to lose to get there.

Lol riiiight. I am 5'5" and at 120, I'd be a zero! I am so not interested in that. I am also not obsessed with my body... I am interests increasing my health and physical fitness. This is precisely I don't step on the scale everyday or even care about three number on the scale. It is the least accurate indicator of progress. Sent from my Nexus 10

I am 5'3" and happy at 120. Not a zero either but i come from very petite people. Both of my grandmas were under 5 foot. My aunts have my frame but they are over 300lbs each. In their mid to late 40s and really struggling just to walk. We have enough stacked against us with the family history of diabetes, arthritis, alzheimers, heart disease, and cancers of all kinds. I am 30 now and need to get serious about being healthy. I dont want to start taking pain meds daily whe I am 45! And keeping my weight down will help with that too, but the focus really is on good diet to take care of the rest. Side note - my mom has been doing this diet with me. 3 days in and she was able to start weaning off her pain meds for arthritis! She was taking meds in the morning, meds at night, and more as needed throughout the day. She has now stopped her maintenence meds!! Three weeks in and her doc did blood tests - said her levels were awesome and felt comfortable with her backing off the pain meds. I am so happy for her! All from cutting out sugar, basically, and not mixing fats and carbs.

So, I switched birthday control at the beginning of February because they stopped making the pillow I was taking. I freaking HATE this new pill and have been miserable since I started it. I am hungry ALL the time. Insane cravings. Back aches and well over a week of cramps and general misery. Oh, the irritability!!! I have spent the day on the couch with a heating pad, something I almost never need to do. I called my Dr. On Friday and she called in a new pill for me. A 24 day version of the 28 day pill I had before. I can't wait to pick them up on Monday and get this pill out of my system. Hopefully within a week I will be back to good.
Things are going well in the paleo front... It really is making my allergies better! I had a non paleo meal on Wednesday night and Thursday and Friday were rough allergy wise. So this is certainly motivation to keep it rolling!

Sam could you please send me info on your diet on FB please? I am very interested in it! I ordered P90X3 yesterday! Should be here in just a few days. Because I am going to be out of town and staying in a hotel room with other people for the weekend, I am going to wait till we get back to start it. I am SUPER excited about it! A big problem I have with excercising is I will just do what I want to....so I should be working out all body parts, and mixing cardio and strength training etc....but I HATE strength training...2 reason...#1 I find it VERY BORING....#2 I don't know what I should be doing and feel lost and discouraged....so when I go to the gym I just do cardio and go home. I am excited to have a routine that will tell me what to do everyday. If I start the first week of April, I should be able to do the entire program about 1 + 1/3 times before the wedding. We don't have a date yet, but planning for Aug/Sept as we want an outdoor wedding. Tonight I am going to get all of the junk food out of my house. I am not a huge junk food person, but I do have some emergency chocolate that I eat way more then needed and just some other junky stuff like pizza rolls etc. I am just going to give it all to my Dad and bros. My Mom is super on board with helping me lose weight as well so that will be a great help.

It was really nice today, so I put on a pair of white jeans with a coral and white spring sweater, along with a pair of rose gold sandals.
I couldn't keep the right sandal strap to stay put, the sweater fits fine, but my pants are beginning to fall down.
YEEHAW!!!!!! First noticeable difference in my clothes since I've gotten 16 lbs off this pudgy body.

Spring teased us last weekend with nice weather and now the weather is back to icky. Hoping the "warm" weather comes back soon! My DH is in Boston visiting relatives for a few days, so I'm on my own. I usually do pretty good food/exercise wise when I don't have to think about dinner for 2. And, it means when I want to take a long walk in the evenings, even if it's on a treadmill, there is no one here de-railing that motivation.

Seven weeks done in this challenge of mine and I have a few observations. 1. Avoiding doughnuts is getting easier. I don't feel nearly as "starving" as I did the first month and it isn't torture to walk past all the crap that gets brought into work. I still take a really deep breath or two to try and get a low calorie taste that way, but I'm not just sitting here at my desk wishing they would all get taken so I could get back to work. 2. My feet don't hurt as much. I got plantar fascitis a few years ago and while it's "cured", ever since, I have problems with cramping in the arches and sore feet especially barefoot. I've been walking as much as 50 miles a week now (via Fitbit, so a lot is just around the house and work), but my feet feel a lot better. I can even walk barefoot in my house now for pretty long stretches. I would think that all the walking would make them worse, but it must be stretching the tendons out or something. 3. MY HAIR IS COMING BACK! I lost about 30% of my hair two years ago. They did a hundred different tests and decided it was just stress. Understandable considering all that happened that Spring, but it just wouldn't start growing again. I would get up in the morning and try and figure out how to cover as much scalp as possible. Now, to be fair, this may have been happening for a long time and I just noticed now. It may have nothing to do with my eating/exercise the last couple months at all. I've been getting it cut shorter and shorter every time, but the last few weeks I've noticed that I'm not playing the cover the scalp game anymore. I'd like to report that I have more energy, but I don't think so. I seem to be beat every night and half the time I fall asleep in the middle of a tv show.
