Yikes. Sorry to hear it didn't work for him. I wonder if it was the older model? It sounds like the new ones work a lot better. Either that or I'm just falling for the reps sales pitch too.

Today is the blessed no kids day (well, starting in a couple hours). Older son is off on his monthly camping trip and younger goes to his Dad's for 7 hours. I am going to walk both lakes in town which is about 5 miles. Pretty excited. I only get these days every other Saturday unless I take vacation when they're at school and this is the first NICE one in many months.

I have realized I probably have diastasis recti due to threefull term pregnancies in 4 years. Looking at fit2be or ttapp workouts to flatten the belly. Any experience here?

I am not familiar with either workouts. Have you tried any yoga? I have a yoga/Pilates blend video that is great at core strengthening.

I was doing my yoga/pilates workouts, but they can make diastasis worse. I need to heal that up first then get back to the old workouts

I had a GREAT day yesterday! Got 28K steps in, got my snow fence taken down went on a couple walks besides the one around the lake, watched a little Criminal Minds and did a little housework (very little), all while eating only 1300 calories.
Today is going to make up for it! ROFL I had to get myself and cranky 4 year old up at 5 am to drive 2 hours to pick up older son from camp. Stopped and bought a super fatty cappuccino on the way there and back (probably 1300 calories right there!) We just got home and everyone is just tired and wanting to lay around. We have to go visit an airport for one of his merit badges, so will need to leave the house at some point but I'm so tired of driving.

Congrats! That's so exciting! i hope you figure out how to upload a pic of the ring, I'm a sucker for pretty jewelry! I spent the morning running along Lake Michigan. It was about 5 degrees too cold to do it, but man, I'm so glad I sucked it up and ran outside. I have felt so good all day. I can't wait for next weekend when I can do it again. I'm holding steady in the weight department, which is good, since I have a killer couple weeks at work coming up. I'm hoping that the work stress keeps me from eating (most likely scenario) instead of having me stuffing my face. It's that time of the month that I'd rather stuff my face with cookies, so fingers crossed I'm too busy the next week or two to think about food!

Recap of last week: Did not hit my step goal. Overeating was the norm.
Upcoming week: 1. Step goal 63,000 2. Drink at least 24 ounces of water a day.
I have a busy week with after work activities each day.
Have a great week everyone and keep up the good work.

Any good non-elastic ways to hold back your hair while you workout? I am terribly challenged when doing my own hair, so braids are out. I can barely braid DD's hair - it's not pretty. But elastics are pulling my hair out Clips are fine but I can't seem to find one that will hold all the hair tight enough.

I use them, because i have a TON of hair and mine don't seem to pull my hair out. What about the new kind that are thick bands of elastic? they are supposed to be no crease, maybe they wouldn't pull out your hair. They look like this: www.thetwistband.com/hair-ties/shamrock-hair-tie-set.html

Well I musta had a LOT of water (ahem...beer) retention from vaca, been home for 4 days and I am down 6lbs, and I KNOW that isn't from my doing! I will say though that DF has been more receptive to my nudgings for going for walks etc. We went for a walk, prob 2 miles on Friday and then a short walk on Monday. Not much, but a step in the right direction (excuse my pun!). We are working on being better with food as we both want to lose a lot before the wedding and aren't planning on having a long engagement. We went grocery shopping yesterday and got milk, cottage cheese, cereal bars (they were Try Me Free after rebate!), oranges, grapes, bananas, yogurt, eggs and sandwich meat. We already mowed through most of the grapes, one orange, and one banana. I know if we have the healthy food in the house we will eat it. It's just a matter of making sure we keep it stocked and not eating out. Once I move in with DF (hopefully just a few more weeks waiting on work stuff) the eating out will take care of itself as DF lives in a small (est pop 3000) town and there is no fastfood except Subway, and only about 3 sit down resturants in the surrounding area. We are also going to be doing the Insanity workouts (we shall see how that goes..... ) and I am on 2 softball teams again this summer, practices should be starting soon. I am also getting back into the Newtopia program with my employer, they send you vitamins for free and also set you up with a weightloss counselor for free. A lot of things are hard to work on while I am trying to continue to work on moving, working OT, getting my house ready for a renter, softball, etc.....so for right this moment I am just trying to focus on making daily good decisions with my food, drink and excercise. Banker Gurl 191.0lbs (197.0lbs 3/15/15) = Down 6.0lbs Goal Weight = 140lbs THANKS EVERYONE ON THE CONGRATS AND COMMENTS ON MY RING! I IT!

Today, I discovered larabars. For anyone interested in clean eating- no sugar, no grains etc. Check them out. The base is dates, I LOVE dates. they are fruits and nuts. Some have semi sweet chocolate. I am excited to have these in my life now, it will make paleo much better! I just have to remember not to eat a bunch at once!

congrats on the engagement bankergurl!
I'm down a total of 36 lbs in 2 months and feeling good about that. My goal over the next 2 weeks before I weigh in again is 15 lbs or more than 1 per day since I'll be traveling, walking everywhere, lots of hiking, swimming, and keeping a calorie deficit of 1000 or more a day.
(roughly calculating my BMR is 1900 and the nutrition plan I'm on is about a third of that so I'm already in deficit by 8750 calories a week which is 2.5 lbs of fat lost. Since I'm planning on increasing my activity 2-3x this next few weeks I'll increase my calories by 500-600 and should still be good. I already know I can't do more exercise than what I do now on such low calories so I'll adjust accordingly).

I am 177 tonight so that can't be bad. But I'm not feeling real good tonight. I have ran from early to pretty late today.
Haven't eaten a whole lot today.
Had an egg McMuffin this morning ate about half, didn't want it About noon was hungry, DD was in the MRI, and I had a splitting headache so went down the street, got an orange juice, and a PayDay bar, small. We ate at a pizza place each had 1 piece of thin slice pizza. $10 for 2 sodas and 2 pieces of pizza, man that expensive.
I ate some boiled cauliflower for dinner and a couple slices of those summer sausages. DD had some spaghetti sauce and leftover spaghetti. I may eat a piece of Colby cheese or something. Pat, I am honestly concerned about what you are eating if this truly is your day. You are starving your body! You need some healthy fats, good low-glycemic carbs, and some veggies. You should try to get 15g of protein with each meal or snack. It will help keep you full longer and help keep your blood sugars more steady.

My goofy new scale seems to have had a change of heart and decided to start giving accurate results. I've been checking what it says against my old one and they finally match.
Hospital in Dec. said 202#
Officially today I'm at an accurate 190# I have a Dr. appt on April 6th and I would love to lose another 5 before then. I have another 30 to go before I reach my goal.

Some days I eat good, some I'm just not hungry.
The day before, I had those meat tacos or whatever they are called and they were good, did that 2 days in a row but yesterday just not hungry.
I'm constipated again, I go from that to diarrhea, have for years. I've taken some gentle stuff called colon cleanse that is supposed to help get you regular but hasn't yet. I ate some prunes, helped a bit I guess.
We may go to the diner for lunch and have a hamburger or something.
I have the most amazing doctor in the world, she focuses on natural supplements as opposed to chemical medication (but will recommend them if she believes they are needed.) She has me taking Ortho Biotic, which is a probiotic and it is amazing. It helps with everything from stomach issues to immunity (since like 75% of your immune system lives in your gut.) I have put my husband on them as well because he has horrible stomach issues. It may be something you want to look into.

It was so nice this past weekend, I totally overdid it! I was so excited to be outside, I walked an average of 26,000 steps a day (which included 45 minutes of running each day), plus I did extra strength training circuits Sunday. OOPS. Oh well, the sore muscles are almost gone. Then, we had some friends over for cocktails and appetizers tonight, and I may have eaten a bit too much. But, tomorrow is a new day, and we more leftover veggies than we will realistically eat, so I'll have some good healthy snacks/meals in the coming week.
