It shoots some rocks occasionally, but not bad. For one thing, I adjusted the little shoe things on the bottom so it's not scraping right against the ground (maybe a half inch or so up), then, I normally don't snow blow unless it's a significant amount. If it's only a few inches I just drive on it, so there is usually a decent snow pack on the driveway over the gravel.

They are really awesome and fun to use. You should get one. Just walk along and let it do all the work. I won't shovel snow. My back is awful and shoveling for me is just begging to be in pain for a week or more. I'm trying to break my bad eating habits and bought some tilapia fillets at Sam's Club last night. Yes. I bought fish with no batter on it. I'm shocked and not quite sure what to do with it. Wonder if I can make it on the George Foreman?

Just an idea, but I've found barramundi filets have much better flavor. They are a mild, white fish as well and I find them easily at Safeway. Just last week they were on sale 2 filets for $5.00. I stocked up because I usually have one filet every day for lunch. I think you can do them on the grill. Just make sure you oil your grill first. For work lunches, I just microwave them and add my seasonings. But, at home, I like to put them in foil packets with some olive oil, lemon slices, whatever spices I have that sound good and throw in a few vegetables. Again, whatever I have on hand and then just pop them in the oven for 15 - 20 min. I'm sure others have better, more creative recipes than I do - I just wanted to mention the different type of fish.

I think I'd have to send my son out to fish for them to get Lake Trout. It's not like it's in the stores. My neighbors (one is a Dakota indian and fishes on the reservations) have me over for Walleye every now and then and it is SO GOOD, but deep fried. It just melts in your mouth and doesn't taste "fishy" at all.

I think you'd be better off learning to cook them yourself, which is very easy. I know you can do it. The fish filets (or any type of meat for that matter) that are pre-seasoned are high in sodium and sugar content. Read the labels. Adding your own seasoning is super easy and one of the key things is to use onion POWDER and garlic POWDER (not onion and garlic salt) and then use sea salt. Gives a much better flavor overall.
Celery salt, lemon pepper, dried green herbs, etc. give you many more options.

Tilapia is great for fish tacos. I just pan cook them, takes about 5 minutes. add some veggies and salsa and throw it in a corn tortilla. Dinner in 10 minutes! Made it back from vacation yesterday after a delay and an unexpected night in miami. Super duper bloated from the plane and 2 days of airport food. Hitting up the grocery store tonight, with grand plans of minestrone and lots of salads. we're expecting a warm up here in chicago this weekend! and daylight savings is coming too, which gives us daylight in the evening, i am so happy about that! can't wait to be able to get out and get some walking and jogging!

Holy crap. I can't imagine being trapped in my house for 10 days. Now...I probably wouldn't mind, because I'm such a homebody anyhow, but it would kind of freak me out if I really COULDN'T leave. I mean, what if my kid started running a 105 temp again or something? Yikes.
It's warming up here. In the 20's today and supposed to be in the 40's tomorrow. I cannot wait. I have not missed a single day of walking twice a day in this freezing cold and I'm ready for a little break.
Going to try making some fish this weekend. Last night I was bad and split a pizza with my 4 year old since it was just him and I (older son is camping). I still stayed under 1300 calories for the day though.

Yeah, 2-wheel drive trucks are not worth anything in the winter. You're better off with a front wheel drive Toyota car to get you out. Nobody up here even owns trucks without 4x4. It's pretty rare that you see one anyhow.

Made it to the gym every day this week. Thursday was a close call, almost skipped. This is the first time going all week since the challenges I was doing ended in January. It was hard getting back in the swing of things. This month's challenge isn't interesting to me but I sure hope the next one is, it was a good motivator!

I had a bad day too. SUPER LAZY and didn't eat well either. My son won a $25 gift card for getting donations for the Humane Society and we went to Target to spend it. He wanted a pair of sunglasses, a Lego set, and a container of Edy's smore ice cream! Ahhhhhhhh Ice cream in the house. I had some with him this afternoon and just had yogurt and popcorn for dinner. Stayed under 1200 calories for the day, but lots of junk.
Didn't do much exercising either. I took DS swimming at the Y for a half hour, but that wasn't much and when we got home after our ice cream I took a nap on the couch. I did get 12K steps in, but I had been getting 14-15K.

My god, you guys are so hard on yourselves. I certainly won't post my flood or activity if this is what is considered lazy or blowing it.

I know SG. That attitude gets me into such a depression sometimes. I beat myself up when I can't live up to my own expectations, let alone be what everyone else thinks I should be
Shoot, I'm 70 years old, I sag in more places than I used to know I had. I've got those lovely brown spots on the face and hands, but good grief, society and the advertising companies tell me if I'm not 5'10 and weigh 100# and look like I'm 18 years old, I have no worth to anyone.
And above all, if I just use THIS product, I'll be perfect.

Hey, I never said these were my expectations for everyone else! But, I know me. If I lose focus and start slipping I'll fall hard. I have a very bad relationship with food and like an alcoholic have to have a lot stricter control. I've basically been on a bender the past couple years with all the things going on in my life. We're talking gained over 15% of my body weight in that time. I wish they had food rehabs.

Yeah, I can see where it would though. I am hard on myself in all aspects of life, hard on my kids too. It's just yet ANOTHER thing I need to work on.

We're talking gained over 15% of my body weight in that time. I wish they had food rehabs. I understand your point... But I also think there is a balance where you can cut yourself some slack and commend yourself on what you actually did accomplish. You got in 10k + steps... That certainly isn't lazy at all. Maybe it isn't your highest steps, but you 10k isn't an easy breezy effortless thing. I mean this is a lifetime change and you can't expect to be 110% every single day for the rest of our lives. Our bodies get worn out and need some lower activity and rest days every now and then! I am back from vacation and settling back in. Excited to spring forward!!! And excited to have a warm up. Looking forward to being able to actually walk my dog more than a block, and I know he is too! I came back from vacay, to a new rule at work... My manager has decided that we *must* take an hour lunch every day. This is new .... I have been with my firm over 8 years and have never taken an hour on a regular basis. It seems insane since we are short staffed and working OT, but I am just rolling with it. Will not be putting in extra time to make up the difference. I simply refuse. I will be taking the hour lunch as an opportunity to hit the gym in my building a few times a week and to get outside for a nice walk when weather permits. I will take advantage as I have a feeling this may not work out to be permanent... But if it is, hooray! I am packing my gym bag and have a date with the rowing machine tomorrow! I made the tilapia tonight. It was ok...a little fishier tasting than I would have preferred, but not bad. However, the kids LOVED it. I was shocked! I made two fillets thinking I would end up having to eat one and a half myself but I only got about a third and I had to fight for that. They were both upset when it was gone.

Random old lady at church told me I was doing a great job losing the "baby fat". Um, thanks? Kind of odd for a random comment but I'll take it.

DD and I ate WAY to much yesterday. It was not pretty. This morning weighed and up half a pound to 177.5.
Well what can I say, I did have grilled salmon for a late dinner.
DD has shrimp for today and I bought some cod fillets plus have the other 1/2 pound of salmon I need to freeze. I may grow gills soon.
We left at 10:30 yesterday and didn't get home till 7. The poor dog peed in the basement I had forgotten about him. I never do that. I cleaned it up with ammonia so hope he won't do it again, poor baby.
I have to call the psychiatrist Monday he put DD back on topomax, I wonder if they intended to do that, she is doing very well on zyprexa but she is gaining weight and yesterday she ate like a horse.
She has a slice of pizza, real root beer, and ice cream at Sams while I was shopping. Then she wanted some of my crispies off my 2 pieces of KFC and a mashed potatoes and gravy. At the movie a low cal Gatoraid and a package of reeses peanut butter candies and ate half. I don't know what she ate when she got home but I remember, oh yes 1/4 pound of boiled shrimp, she can't keep this up.
But we had a fun day and we sure needed it!
That shrimp was between 112 to 120 calories, like seriously.

I haven't posted in a while. I got back on the exercise wagon last week. My goal was low- to just get in cardio 3 days and to walk the dogs every day. I was good with the cardio sessions, but did not walk the dogs every day- twice DH did it. On Saturday we went hiking with the dogs. Did about 7 miles in 2.5 hours. I get so hungry after hiking and I probably ate more calories than I burned. We were going to go out again on Sunday, but I was still tired from the day before. At one point we were going to go on a bike ride, but we lazed out of that too. I justified it to myself because I had done (most of) what I promised during the week. We are trying to squeeze in a quick hike this afternoon, but who knows what will happen so I am going to do my planned workout this morning.
My weight is back to where it was when I started. I know it is my eating. I'm going to cut alcohol out completely this week and see what happens. I also have to get more vegetables in. I do good for a while, and then if I send DH to the store to pick up 2 things he comes back with 10 and most of them things I don't want in the house. On saturday he went to get half and half and came back with chips and pretzels which I NEVER buy. Of course I helped eat them. I know I have to take responsibility for my actions, but I have told DH there are things I just can't have in the house- candy, chips, etc. because I binge on them. That is why I don't buy them. We ate the pretzels in less than 24 hours and the chips went down in one sitting though we didn't open them until sunday. I didn't want them until we had them in the house. And then it was like a compulsion. I just kept eating until they were all gone. Then I felt bad. I decided next time DH does this I am immediately opening the food and putting it in the trash. Maybe he'll listen then.

I have not posted in a while. I have been overeating and less active than I should.
Hoping this week everything will get back on the correct path. Work has been hectic. My work walking buddy (not that the weather was allowing us to walk) has left the company.
Keep up the good work. Have a great week.

Ugh! Forgot my gym clothes! Will go out for a walk at lunch, likely won't be too long since I don't think I have any shoes for that. Maybe I will go pick up a pair that I can keep at the office.
Ners- glad to see you checking in. Ready to have you giving me a run for my money on fit bit again.
Bobo- I understand what you mean. It is hard when you live with someone who isn't 100% committed. My DH does the same thing.

haven't checked in for awhile too. I've bounced around a little between 195-200, just kind of maintaining. have had quite a bit of work stress the past couple weeks though, and my skinny jeans were falling off my butt at 7AM rather than toward the end of the day as they stretch out from wearing. I have a feeling that I'll be losing a few lbs just from stress in the coming weeks. not really a healthy way to do it, but I'll take it.
