Paul Newman? He left his wife and children for Joanne Woodward. No one is perfect. To think anyone should be in nuts. They don't pretend to be role models, thank God.

Robin Williams cheated on his first wife with the nanny. Tom Hanks is not a saint and his son has been in and out of more pricey rehab centers than you can imagine. It's just hushed up. Very few people have saintly lives. Saints are simply sinners with good editors and publicists.

To be honest I find your list kinda scary. "Proponent of the traditional family" is code for a lot of things I find nasty like homophobia and misogyny. "Hasn't engaged in any of the vices or scandals listed", could you write out that list again for me? I'm pretty sure you have things listed that probably don't concern me.

Tom Hanks, Billy Crystal, Jeff Foxworthy, Ron Howard, Robin Williams, Bono, Peter Gabriel, Oprah, Ellen, Lady Gaga to name a few. Alton Brown - (we've actually met him) and I'd add Mike Rowe to the list but I'm not sure if he's famous enough for you to consider making it big. You can be successful and still not be an ass. You don't have to be an ass, but it seems like there are more than there aren't. Probably it seems so because who are not didn't get in the news for it

Wow Tiki, I believe shooby is referencing Cosby's stand on the black family in America and values that have degenerated downward, depending on government taking care of them and the violence in black neighborhoods of black on black violence. Cosby has been preaching for blacks to turn things around, and some black leaders have been going after him publicly. He feels it starts with educating young black males.

I'm guessing you're right, VB. However, that certainly isn't clear in the post in question. Perhaps if, rather than pitch in a sarcastic comment and wander off, Shooby had explained her point and how it related, others would understand better what she's trying to say.

I don't think its referencing that at all, but again I don't understand the thought process. Cosby's preaching at the black community is old news as is dissent from black leaders.
Still a weird comment as its black leaders complaining and black women's accusations.

Cosby isn't exactly in love with Republicans and conservatives like Thomas and Cain either. From an interview last year: But to Cosby the Republican lawmakers' inaction smacked of racism.
"To see people sitting down when there are others standing and cheering. I think we have people sitting there who are as bad as the people who were against any kind of desegregation," he said. "And then in place of a better America, they want their own sick feelings put across, and it's — it isn't — it isn't a good time, but I think, also on our part as professors and presidents of colleges all over, and in public schools, we need to get the education of the correct history that happened so people can say, 'Yes, this really did happen.'"
Cosby also lamented that the Republican Party has changed over the years and not in a good way.
"It's also interesting that this Republican Party is not the Republican Party of 1863, of Abraham Lincoln, abolitionists and slavery, is not good," he said. "I think it's important for us to look at the underlying part of it. What is the value of it? Is it that some people are angry because my people no longer want to work for free?"Bill Cosby Sounds Off on the GOP The actor and educator compared Republican lawmakers to segregationists.

And by all means, make up your own list. Don't let my scary values get in the way.

I don't need them to be saints. I don't even come close to fitting that impossible list you mentioned. They just need to be nice and respectful to others. Bill Cosby may not be a drunken tax cheat, but he treats people poorly. He is always walking around like his shit doesn't stink.

Howard Stern has an interview (that I believe he replayed yesterday) from 2006 of Janice Dickenson saying that Cosby had raped her. She has even stated that she wanted it in her book & her publisher refused to allow it due to a lawsuit threat from Cosby.
Wendy Williams has said that she brought up the allegations in a 1998 radio interview she did with Cosby & he tried to have her fired. I believe I read that she's in the process of tracking down a copy of that radio interview to air on her show.
this isn't a bandwagon story....these allegations have been out there for YEARS.

Paul Wolfowitz, for example.

He's been married and divorced a few times, and implicated in a sex scandal. His position on drug use is inconsistent. I'm not a fan of (some of) his music. He's spotless by Hollywood standards, and apparently a saint compared to the rest of his family, but still not somebody I'd be comfortable pointing to as a role model. If he stays out of trouble as he gets older, he'll probably be the closest thing to it in Hollywood.

He is married 2 times and divorced once. I think this is the right way to do it. You condemn divorce? He is married 15 years already and I think takes care of kid from former wife with putting him in movies.
Wife's mother was drug addict and problem. His growing up family has drugs problem, but these are not meaning he has a problem.
He is bigger saint than Bill Cosby! But not a saint at all. I think good role model in the soddom and gommorah that is Hollywood.
