I went to the health food store to buy some live probiotics, then did some grocery shopping. Our weathermen called it a "dog's breakfast" of weather today. Rain, sleet, snow, high winds...a mess. I'm going to do nothing the rest of the day. Why? Because I can!

I went to my high school to watch a Scholars Bowl tournament that my oldest grandson competed in. I can't bear to sit through sports, but this was fun!

Our church choir had a full dress rehearsal yesterday for the Veterans Day program this afternoon. Even the church orchestra was there.....Looking forward to having this one over and this upcoming Wednesday we start rehearsals for the Christmas program.

The estate sale people were here last night. <making a long story short> I am having them sell my $10K Bernina embroidery/sewing machine. All the sewing accessories, books, patterns, embroidery thread. You name it and I'm selling it. They will be here today to get everything packed up and out of the house. The sewing room will now go back to being the sunroom.
This is bittersweet.....as my life has changed so much the past 5 years and DH being gone for 3 years now, at times when I see the chapters of my life change it's hard to realize how much different my life is today. Having made the decision to sell everything feels like it's the end of the book and now it's time for the last of the changes to my house. OTOH, I'm excited to see where my life takes me now.

May I ask why you are selling your machine? I don't use one like that, but you don't have a use for it now? Sounds like a wonderful thing to use.

Haven't done a lot this week but last week did a very thorough house cleaning. I'm glad I did it then, as it's very cold here, at least for the Houston area, and the wind was terrible yesterday. Have made plans for what I'll bring for Thanksgiving dinner and brunch; fortunately, DDIL is hosting Thanksgiving dinner and DD is hosting brunch-yay! DH has felt pretty good for a couple of days this week. We even took an out of town trip about 3 weeks ago to visit friends and relatives.

Yesterday was good, feet didn't really hurt. Before I went to bed started having pain just inside the ball of my LEFT foot, what? Then the one that always hurt started hurting too. Leg cramp in my left hip and leg. About 2:30 AM up to take my pain meds, that took awhile to kick in. I had to get up at 6:30 so maybe got 3 hours of sleep. I went back to bed at 9 this morning, then phone ringing woke me up at 11. I could have slept all day. Having my truck alignment rechecked at 3 this afternoon, so could have slept.
Hubs down getting our grandson a tricycle for Christmas and a wagon. Also putting weather stripping around 2 doors at a rent house, tenant said wind blowing in, I don't doubt it. No steel core doors there, has very nice wood ones so we decided not to change them out. No other tenants had said anything but I'm sure she is correct. That was the one he just had to put a new microwave in.

I haven't touched my sewing room since DH died 3 years ago. That's part of my past and I can't continue to move forward if all I see is the past. New car, changed the decorating inside the house, new wonderful bed......everything is new and it's mine and what I wanted. My life goes on.....Have no interest in doing any sewing again.

I don't sew for awhile but then I go back. I'm sorry but for me hubs or no hubs will not change that part of my life. But I understand each of us is different. If its therapeutic for you, sounds like that is what you need to do.

I don't want anything to happen to my husband and sometimes I feel guilty. But I do think once in awhile how I would live differently if he were no longer in my life. I know the thing to do is nothing for at least a year, then I would move forward. For me I imagine the first would be to sell whatever our son doesn't want from outside. Hubs told me also I need to do that. Though I'm thinking keeping it and letting all that go with the sale of the house might help sell it. So thinking along those lines. But will decide if the time ever comes. I really don't want to live out here alone and don't know if I could even sell it. If I could I would build a new home somewhere if I could not find suitable and on from there. Of course that too would depend on my age.
But I don't want to lose him, it just kind of hovers back there as something that comes in my thoughts at times. I know he thinks of the same.

I have the casing ready for DD's elastic in her jams, but this elastic is more ridgid, need to get the softer kind, have a big roll, but a bit to big. Next time need to make the casing bigger, but have to cut the jams a bit taller in the waist to use this kind.
I have one side of my zipper in my jacket, the other pinned, getting ready to sew it then pin the fronts.

Finished up the 2 sewing items before I went to bed last night. I found elastic that fit the casing.
I'm writing about tomorrow, I'm baking a ham, late evening to take for dinner the evening we get in and making son a peach cobbler to take. If I have time going to make sugar and oatmeal cookies.
Have to take dog to board, pack clothes, get everything ready to leave Wednesday morning early. Going to try packing lighter, we are going to be gone 4 days max, but its going to be brutally cold up there and DIL and son like their house pretty cold. So I'm adding snuggles underwear, sweaters, a vest, for DD fleece PJ's, that's one of the reasons I made them even she will get cold there. I'm taking sweats to sleep in. I find it even cold to take a shower, brrr. The temp is supposed to be a high of 18 and low of 2 one night. I will absolutely freeze those 4 days, I don't have real warm socks.
Have been taking my pain meds once a day of late, using lidocaine on my ankle. Taking CBD oil and I'm doing ok. I was keeping the brace on all the time and told hubs I was noticing less motion in the ankle and pain when I did move it. I've thinking I'm keeping it too ridgid so last couple of days not on and I'm moving it a bit more. I will see how it does, when walking much I will put it on and wear it, may need to break out a new one, they do wear after awhile. At night sometimes the front half of both feet feel numb, that is very concerning to me, what next.

I'm reading this report on my foot and looking the stuff up The main things wrong it says are:
Severe osteoarthritus changes are seen involving the 3 articulations of the subtalar joint, as described above. Sinus tarsus syndrome
Partial split tear of the peroneous brevis tendon
There is severe edema with large degenerative cysts involving the anterior and middle articulations of the subtalar joint. The posterior articulation of the subtalar joint also demonstrates mild edema with smaller degenerative cystic changes.
But everything I read doesn't help. Says osteoarthritis is only in 1% of the place I have it, says its rare, so probably why a lot isn't done with it. It sounds like the tear can be repaired. The other parts say that basically immobilizing, pain management, good stable shoes, and orthotics, doesn't say much else. lt also says injections can be done, I've had them before. Sounds like it can be immobilized to heal the tear. Not sure why no one is doing any of this. Says a walking boot, only way I can do that would be both feet, otherwise throws my back out. Also says massage nor tens will help the arthritis part but exercise could.
I figure that is all I will hear again, I guess I need to go back to Houston to the specialist there and see if he can do good orthotics, give me shots and help me like he used to. Will see what Dec 4 appointment brings.
Need to go to bed.
Hubs got my bed cover on my truck so we can protect the items from the rain and snow, so that's good. We are missing a screw we need, he tried to fabricate the piece we are waiting on, but didn't work real well.
We are gathering up clothes to pack and things, so getting ready. Have to take the dog to town to be boarded tomorrow and pick up white flour, only have whole wheat.

Today DIL, a Russian friend, DD, and I went to Syracuse to the mall there. We went to Maceys and I got a White Linen set and Youth Dew one for me, and hubs aunt and mom PJ sets. I need to find them some other things. Found a coat DD liked so she was happy for awhile. Oh the girls went to the Russian store too. We all wondered around the mall for awhile, they called when ready to go. DD and I went shopping off by ourselves so we all got to go where we wanted.
Then we ate lunch and came home, its about an hour and a half each way.

Received an unexpected text from DD2 telling us her and her hubby are coming down tomorrow for the day for an early Christmas celebration. Our PNW weather is forecasted to be rainy and none of us want the others to be on the road late in the day with possible bad weather.
Well, it was off to the local Safeway to fill out our menu for tomorrow and make it a bit more festive. Surprisingly the crowd at the store wasn't as bad as we had expected and armed with a detailed list we were in and out in about 15 minutes.
Not really in a holiday mood but I've made an effort to do a bit of Christmas decorating. No Christmas tree but hung wreaths and placed a few holiday items here and there around the house.

I am feeling better, all of us have been sick. I cooked bean soup and cornbread today. We went to the bank and renewed an investment.
Also caught up my ironing, had several pants and shirts of hubs, some of mine, and DD's, all done now!!
Then tonight have brought up 2 months of recons on the business, working on my last bank statement. Then need to review and classify by business property so need to do some of those. After that go back and check ending balance sheet.
I wrote checks for our last estimated check installment, federal and need to do state estimated payment. Completed other paperwork. Have to go through and sort down to see what our net cost is for new insurance and penalties. So I feel I accomplished a lot today.
Oh we bought a sound bar for the new TV in the living room, the new TV's have the speakers in the back and I have a terrible time hearing them, son suggested sound bars, it was only $68 and sounds good. Hubs has been surfing the TV to see what he can find on the roku deal. He is going to lose MSNBC, we don't see it available live anywhere and we both like it. Tried to call and cancel cable today, it was wait times of almost 20 minutes, I figure tons of people are cancelling.

Countrygirl, try adding sling tv $25/month then you can get MSNBC.
I need to do this too, was waiting for Football season to end.
Supposed to be winter weather advisory today. Have Dayoff, thinking about working. When I left Friday, we had upgraded Accounting Software and system licenses were messed up. Told him to text me if he gets it fixed. I need to run W-2’s.

I called to cancel the cable today, we were going to take sling at $25, had to add $5 for MSNBC. So I talked to the gal, the other guy said we could not change so I was going to drop it. Instead she offered for $39 basic cable, the charge included our boxes, so for now we did that. landline turned off tomorrow, cable was changed immediately. And no payout penalty for now. Hubs keeps his MSNBC channel also Rachel Maddow which we like and some other programs he likes. As hubs said this will give him time to explore and see what he likes on the channels we have. So far I'm really happy with the offerings we have. So many complete series we never got to see all of like Andromeda. I am losing Starz and my Outlander series, I really like that show. That's the only one I really care about watching. Haven't checked the price yet but think it will add too much back for too little value. We have access to more programming then we had before, way more. Hubs said he wasn't interested in movies, but I noticed the last 2 nights he has watched a movie each night instead of 24/7 news. I'm glad he is finding something to be interested in.
Also he is measuring and going to fix my sewing room ceiling. He was going to buy the fancier ceiling tile, I told him why bother, this is a basement sewing room. If he wants to use nicer stuff do it when he does the main room in the basement. He was going to drywall the outside wall, but think we are just going to paint it instead. First we are going to measure and see the temperature of the outside basement wall before we make that decision. He is pretty sure its insulated but if the wall temp is ground temp then we may just to make it warmer.
I was looking at Pennys today for sheets, in the store had only about 4 choices. I couldn't believe it. Was going to get sheers for the guest room, 95 inch you have to order online, they had none in the store. I tried TJ Maxx too, guess I should have went to Kohls but did not. From what I saw at Pennys I would say they will be next to close. A lady I was talking too said she wanted a nice dress and couldn't find one anywhere, I believe it. There clothes selection was sad too.
I do not believe everyone is ordering clothing etc online here. We have lots of old people, many not even computer literate. Our Macys has been closed a few months, now Sears just going, Carsons gone, Dress Barn to go soon. Folks have clothes to last for awhile. I don't think we all want to dress out of Walmart, please. The younger group yes, they will do it online. I ordered a couple pieces of clothing I literally had to throw away. I don't know how this is going to work.
Thankfully I have tons of fabric back as the stuff now is crap. I look at clothing in the stores and the quality is just pitiful, clothing quality has been going down for a long time but many don't realize it I guess. They are manufacturing it thin and cheap. If we are supposed to be improving in this area I sure don't know how. I'm glad I bought hubs quite a few shirts, he can still buy jeans, so he is ok for some time. I'm hoping within a couple of years someone will start making nice clothing again and offer it. I don't know about other cities, maybe you still have nice things, but its really killing us here. One thing I can say is I will be saving money on shopping for clothes, not finding much of anything around here.

Gathered up a few more of our 2018 financial statements; at least one of them will not be available either on-line or via snail mail until 16 February. There will be no tax refund again this year....sigh....but I do like to get the taxes done and the misery out of the way.
Ran another set of batched errands this morning. Mailed a package, dropped off our ballots for the local school bond vote, picked up more fruit and seed cakes for the flickers and stellar jays that gather in the front and back yard and then finished with a quick grocery shop at the local Safeway. We were back home by lunchtime.

No. I leased it. But I went in with exactly what I wanted. I researched the whole thing. It shouldn’t have taken that long and then the wrong car! So frustrating

I'll bet that was frustrating! It will be nice when you get everything settled, though. Congratulations. I believe they will be exchanging it for me. The last thing they want or need is someone angry every time she gets into their car. It actually ended up being 4 1/2 hours. For something that should have taken 2 max. I had it all picked out before I got there. I hate it and they want repeat customers not someone who can’t wait for three years to be up because they hate their car. Not good for business. I asked for my old car back. They got really upset about that. They know I hate it and that I’m pissed. I expect a call today with the “right” car.

WooHooo! I just booked my car service for my trip to Florida at the end of the month. Excited to see my brother & SIL, it's been a couple of years since the last time we were able to get together.
