Gingrich was such a charming POS when he cheated on wife number two with a congressional staffer.

Edwards is no long running for president. But a major wife cheater is planing on running for president.
Once a cheater-always a cheater and Gingrich has a terrific track record in that department.

I don't care if it's the lizard, or Edwards, I don't believe either could be elected. They've proven themselves untrustworthy.

You forgot we elected Jr, twice. True but the other two choices Al Gore and John Kerry were not exactly models of trustworthiness if that is your standard.... Jimmy Carter may meet your definition of trustworthiness but even he had lust in his heart and was a disaster as our Commander in Chief of the military and another weak and timid leader when faced with a crisis in Iran.. Carter once said " I will never lie to you" and then sent his brother Billy off to Libya to be his representative with Col Quadahfi....And Ole Billy forgot what he and Quadahfi discussed because he was probably consuming too much of his "Billy Beer"....how is that for diplomatic relations with Libya ?? Send Billy Carter..

Acting on it is another ball of wax. There is a great deal I admire about Carter, the man and the president.

No, Carter wasn't highly effective as president, but he had admirable qualities. Some of those are worth emulating.

No, Carter wasn't highly effective as president, but he had admirable qualities. Some of those are worth emulating. The Kennedy family isn't too enamored with Carter since he blames Teddy Kennedy for his defeat in 1980 when President Ronald Reagan swept into office and had to clean up the mess that Carter left behind. But I am biased since Carter cancelled a defense project that ended some careers in the military along with it and we lost some fine young officers that I worked with...

No, there was no love lost between Jimmy and Ted. No president is going to please everyone. I think Carter is a decent human being and has walked the walk, more than others, who only talk the talk.

Edwards triggered my smarm meter from the get go. I didn't like him. Newt is the same way. He's intelligent and has that "presence," but he sets off my smarm bells. Many politicians do set off the alarm, and they are on both sides of the fence.

I voted for John Edwards in the Democratic presidential primary in 2008 out here and am still getting a lot of grief for that blunder by my friends and family members It was a choice between Edwards or Hillary and I went with Edwards....probably one of my biggest mistakes

Well, PI, he had me fooled as well. I supported him until he quit running. I was appalled when the news of the affair came out. Appalled that he'd kept on running with that in the background. It was a betrayal of his wife: but it was also a betrayal of his supporters.

So the guy who led the impeachment against Clinton has admitted that he was having an affair at the same time he was trying to impeach Clinton.... I remember his righteous indignation at the time.... And now he's contemplating a run. That truly is rich....

Edwards had me sucked in, too. I had a feeling, though. I am vary of pretty faces, having known a few too many. Not fair, sure, but I look deeper in to pretty faces than ugly ones. Easy to hide under pretty. Newt-- I never knew his history. Where are all the do-gooder libs that would say he was used by an older woman that led to his series of unsuccessful relationships... that he seems to have worked his way out of now. Oh, wait, that does not apply to Newt cuz he is a conservative............. whatever-- I won't vote for him. I am either Romney or someone we do not know is running yet.

I've always thought that affairs should be handled between the husband and wife...the media and everyone else doesn't need to add their 2 cents or chime in. There's always more than enough other reasons to dislike or not vote for politicians other than because they screwed around on their spouse.
With that said, I do find the hypocritical aspects, such as Newt cheating while attempting to empeach Clinton for the same thing to be a reason I wouldn't choose to support a candidate.
