Ole Newtie is supposed to be announcing he is a candidate for President again...according to my highly unreliable sources......And Liberals are chomping at the bit to tear him to pieces and bring up his marital issues and far out in right Field conservative ideas What he will actually announce is that he is a candidate for the Republican nomination to be their standard bearer in the general election. What will be truly interesting is if Republicans wish for him to fill that position.

And Liberals are chomping at the bit to tear him to pieces and bring up his marital issues and far out in right Field conservative ideas Read more: www.notmsnmoney.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=politics&action=display&thread=4049#ixzz1FGRwOCuKApparently that didn't take long since the long knives are being sharpened by our Liberals here... This should be an interesting discussion... WASHINGTON — Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich intends to take a formal step toward entering the 2012 presidential race within the next two weeks, Republican officials said Sunday, after he spent months traveling to important primary and caucus states. These officials declined to say precisely what type of announcement the 67-year-old former Georgia lawmaker would make, but added they expect him to make clear his determination to run. If so, he would be the first prominent Republican to do so in a slow-to-develop field of potential challengers to President Barack Obama. www.msnbc.msn.com/id/41812161/ns/politics-more_politics/

Personally, I think that those who will end up not supporting the nominee of a political party no matter who it is should restrain themselves from entering the debate. For me, it is like a Red Sox fan telling the Yankees who should be in their starting line-up.

He has called for the elimination of the Environmental Protection Agency and creation of an Environmental Solutions Agency to reward innovation, and attacked Obama as clueless when it comes to foreign policy. In a column in Sunday's Washington Post, Gingrich wrote that twin government shutdowns that occurred while he was speaker in 1995 and 1996 helped set the stage for a balanced budget agreement between President Bill Clinton and the Republican-controlled Congress in 1997. The shutdowns were widely seen at the time as politically damaging to the Republicans. As the face of the Republican revolution, Gingrich bore much of the blame. It was one of numerous controversies that occurred while he was the most prominent leader in his party. Gingrich stepped down after the 1998 elections in the face of a rebellion by members of the Republican rank and file who blamed him for an unexpected loss of seats. www.msnbc.msn.com/id/41812161/ns/politics-more_politics/

The court of public opinion will determine if Newt's name ends up on state and federal election ballots.
I say go for it Newt!

Is he going to run on family values?
Gingrich has been married three times. In 1962, he married Jackie Battley, his former high school geometry teacher, when he was 19 years old and she was 26.[67][68] They had two daughters. In the spring of 1980, Gingrich left Battley after having an affair with Marianne Ginther.[69][70] According to Battley, Gingrich visited her while she was in the hospital recovering from cancer surgery to discuss the details of their divorce. However, Gingrich disputes the account.[71] Six months after the divorce was final, Gingrich wed Ginther in 1981.[72][73]
In the mid-1990s, Gingrich began an affair with House of Representatives staffer Callista Bisek, who is 23 years his junior; they continued their affair during the Lewinsky scandal.[74] In 2000, Gingrich married Bisek shortly after his divorce from second wife Ginther. He and Callista currently live in McLean, Virginia.[75]

Hate to say it, but he is probably the only one capable of beating Obama in 2012. Quite frankly the Republicans do not have anyone with the star power to attract the voters. With the Midwest states falling in population and the House Of Representatives being adjusted for it, Obama is open to losing much of the Midwest in the 2012 election, but the Republicans do need someone who can win in the Midwest. Gingerich should have a solid backing across the south, so with the Midwest in his pocket, along with a few other states, he takes it home for the Republicans.

My personal opinion of Newtie is that he does have some good ideas but just loves being in the news and having people call him "Mr Speaker".....But to his credit Ole Newtie is one of the best at trashing and bashing Obama...and that may be his only forte...IMHO
He really pushed hard for impeaching Bill Clinton and lambasted him for the Monica flings but he was doing the same thing with one of his staff members.....which you know the Liberals will beat him up on forever
Also if Newtie gets to debate Romney, Palin or Huckabee he will eat their lunches....he can debate with the best of the best and throw so many bombs at his opponents they become useless...

"Liberal" seems to be sounding more like a four letter word everyday, so who knows what lies ahead in the next couple of years. Until Wisconsin, indiana, and Rhode Island Legislatuers finish business, we do not know where the country is headed. After their disputes are settled, we head on to some of the more leftwing states, Illinois, New York, California for their come to Judgement days...... California is ripe for the rise of another Ronal Reagan type personality, if they have one out there hiding in the brush somewhere.

The Tea Party will support Newt if he is the nominee. The idea of President Obama serving a second term is enough to get them out to vote.

I think Newtie will get so much bad press from the Liberal Media and Liberal Elites that he will be marginalized ....just a gut feeling on this suggestion

Do you belong to the Tea Party?? They may garner enough political power in the next few months to dictate the outcome of the Republican Presidential Primaries....they are really gearing up out here in Northern California and going after the liberals and progressives in the Bay Area..

Right now the Tea Party has Obama as their target and he knows they are going to make his life difficult in 2012...they are going to start holding rallies across the country to protest his policies and that movement has the Liberals out here very worried if it is successful..
The Tea Party is seeking big money donors and some big name politicians to work with them out in California....they are after Arnold Schwarzenegger but so far he is not interested, but they may get some others with deep pockets and name recognition ??

We win on every single issue- with the caveat that voters must have a CLEAR CHOICE. 40% of Americans identify themselves as conservative. Just 20% identify themselves as liberal. We need Newt's intellect, his wisdom, and his leadership ability to clean up the Bush / Obama mess. Here is Newt explaining why when it was inevitable that the Soviet Union would dominate the planet, that in 11 short years, that empire was GONE. 2 + 2 = 4 Part I

"We need Newt's intellect, his wisdom, and his leadership ability"... and his moral character? Or does character no longer count.

(DOES CHARACTER NO LONGER COUNT) Tennesseer: It is a sad state of affairs when we even have to ask that question, is it not?

Newt Gingrich? barf (coundn't find the simley?) I view him as a dirty old man and will never be able to take him seriously.
Can't stand Sara Palin.
Right now I am going to seriously look at BTDT he's got to be better than the other two put forward so far.
