I mostly buy American Eagle's jeans and the men's hoodies for work. I have a long sleeve button up shirt from there and a peasant style shirt, not skin baring or otherwise age-inappropriate. I think their jeans and pants are ok for ladies past their 20's as long as they fit well. They're just jeans. I don't buy the ones with rips though. I wonder what he meant saying you could pull them off.

I have a hard time finding casual dresses that fit well. I'm small on top so my curves get lost, and I look pregnant, without a narrow waist. I have a hard time with dresses too, because if it fits in one place, it's usually too tight or too big in another. I'm kind of broad across my back/through my shoulders but I don't have a large chest. I think the broad shoulders are from the heavy lifting at my job because a lot of the ladies I work with have the same issue. Dresses are tricky because I have too many parts that aren't usually on the same body I guess. Yes that is exactly how it is with me. Sometimes I find a dress that looks great once I get it on, but getting it around my shoulders and hips is just too much hassle. Then I go up a size and it's easy to get into but looks terrible. Is it too much trouble to put a zipper on a casual dress?

There's another board I read that has OOTD (Outfit of the Day) threads and people post their pic each day. I'd love to do that but we are so paranoid about posting our pictures on here. I don't really like to post on there because it's a younger group over all, everyone seems to be under 30. Oh well.

*smacks forehead*
I read that literally. Like you could pull the rips off and the jeans wouldn't be ripped anymore and I was wondering how in the world anyone could do that. Silly pink! LOL!

And it seems like they fit weird -disproportionate or something. Maybe my body is weird. I need somebody to help me shop. Petite are different proportion. If it's just leg length that is off you are probably better off just hemming the jeans. Petite tend to be shorter wasted.

Is the point of that to motivate you to wear something nice each day, or for people to critique or make suggestions? We could post photo's and blur our faces. On the other board it is to have fun with other folks that like that stuff. They are very complimentary to each other and often get shopping tips and where to find stuff info. It's motivational and they get ideas from each other on how to style stuff.

Boring. I wear jeans and t shirts almost all the time. I have every color and style of jeans and t shirts. I have some dressier tops and skirts that I like but rarely wear them. If I put on a bracelet and dangly earings that is me being fashionable. I do have a variety of sandals and boots. I think because they are easier to try on? I just hate to shop.

First of all - I'd love to see the pics you are talking about it And second of all - I have no style. I am still crazy fat from having all those damn kids, so I still wear maternity shirts and my mom's pants But!! Once I loose the weight, I am going to start a thread on fashion and suggestions on what is "in" and what is not to get general idea what I can keep from my old clothes. Hopefully, the board is still around by the time I am ready. you need to dress the body you have now not the body you want. wouldn't you feel better if you had stylish clothes that fit instead of wearing maternity shirts? I feel just fine as it is.

I guess you'd call it casual bum. I wear jeans most of the time - either boot cut or straight leg (I like a bell bottom if I can find them, but not the huge ones). I hate low rise and won't wear them. Mid-rise or at the waist is my preference. I have a small waist so am picky about brands. I like Seven for All Mankind, Vargoss, My Lovely, Joe's Jeans, and a couple of others I can't remember right now. Tee-shirts or crisp blouses in summer, sweatshirts or wool shirts in winter. I do enjoy wearing bright colors and pretty pastels and am not averse to prints if they're interesting. I rarely wear a dress unless I absolutely must (read funerals or weddings).

Not to mention that the right style will slim your appearance. -Says the person that can't wait for this silly skinny jean thing be over with so she can find boot cut again they still make boot cut...I have about 10 pair from old navy As does Loft. They have skinny, straight, boot, trouser, boyfriend, cropped, etc.

Jeans and t's or hoodies. Right now I feel like a linebacker with big boobs Working on losing weight, but it's not going as well as I wish. Even when I was thin, it was jeans and t's, hoodies, and sweaters. My work wardrobe consists of jeans and t's, and the t's may have a grease stain or a small hole from battery acid--it's work, if I wear something nice I'll just ruin it, so I just wear the older clothes. Sometimes I think about finding something different, but I just don't have a clue where to start. Someone posted a Talbots dress earlier (on another page, so I'm not sure who it was). There was a lady somewhere in the local area who would donate Talbot clothing in great condition, and we had the same taste. Sadly, I gained weight and she didn't. Or maybe she quit donating. But I wish I could get her cast-offs again! I loved all the cute shirts I used to be able to find at SVDP.

Petite tend to be shorter wasted. And shorter arms and narrow shouldered. My height/weight (5'3"/128) puts me in the range for petite but my proportions don't. Petite pants are to short and unless a petite blouse is meant to 3/4 or short sleeved, I usually can't wear them because the shoulders are cut to narrow and the sleeves on a long sleeved shirt don't even reach my hands. I usually pull or roll my sleeves up but sometimes I do like to wear them down so need them to fit right.

This is the kind of stuff I wear in the winter, for the summer look throw a tank top and flip flops on those jeans and that's me Throw away the Uggs and replace with some nice gray, black, or brown boots and I'm right there with you for winter wear!

I HATE skinny jeans and it seems like they are never going to go away. I have not been able to find a flattering pair of jeans in a very long time. Word!! OMG, me too!! I HATE HATE low rise jeans. They only suit bodies where there isn't an inch of extra flab on the tummy and waist. Otherwise wearing a low rise jeans make one look like muffin top This stretchy jeans phenomena is just horrible. Looks good for an hour and then the whole jeans becomes baggy. I have had good luck with some Calvin Klien Jeans I found. So I bought 5 pairs and have been using them. I dread the time when I have to go jeans shopping again As someone who has a very short waist, i like low rise jeans because they fit like a normal rise on me. Regular pants that aren't low rise come all the way to my belly button or even above! And as someone who wears boots over their jeans for half the year, I appreciate skinny jeans. I also have narrow hips and very toned legs so they work for me.

I dislike clothes shopping in general, and seriously despise pants shopping. I have a large curvy butt (worse than JLo) so most pants that I try on have a big gap in back, which is seriously not attractive. It seems that all clothes manufacturers think that everyone is shaped the same and can wear skinny jeans and a low rise, and I am exactly the opposite. Sigh. I need a personal shopper too!
Oh, style, I guess I am into basic color pants (black or brown) and jewel color tops. I rarely wear white because it makes me look washed out. I might be into dresses more but I am of the firm belief that clothing manufacturers also think all American women have huge busts (no matter how skinny or fat they are.)
