I have biked and hiked the length of the state of Washington.  A goal is to kayak the Columbia from Canada to Oregon (portaging around the damn dams) to complete my own personal triathlon.

Scary! I get heart palpations just thinking about being on a sub! Then again, I've read a lot of books about nuclear subs. Did you ever read A Time to Die? It's absolutely excellent.

I wakeboard. I know a lot haven't done that. I was even in a competition once. I also helped put on a competition once.

When I was a kid we took a 6 week vacation out west and I'm betting there's a decent chance I've done some stuff that they don't allow you to do anymore. I don't think they let you do the tour at Hoover Dam anymore. Probably some of the tours we did through the cliff dwellings have stopped - it was really cool to walk through them and climb up the cliff. Took a horseback ride to the bottom of Bryce Canyon.  

Jumped off a rail road bridge into a lake.

Been white water rafting at least 5 times. One I jumped out on and floated through rapids. Another we stopped and I jumped off a cliff. And one I road through one rapids on the bow with my feet hanging over the bow hanging on.

I went on a walk thru the canopy in Borneo.

It was rather short, it seemed like I'd just gotten my balance and it was over. But it was still really cool.

I sat in the front of a long boat. The seat was not anchored down it was a plastic collapsible lawn chair that had it's legs removed and was resting in the boat. One good bump and I would have gone flying. It was awesome.

No, I haven't read the book.

Subs aren't for everyone.  It's not like in the movies where there's plenty of room and people can walk by each other in the halls.  It's pretty cramped.  The bunks were so small you can't even roll over.  Before you go in you have to decide if you want to sleep on your belly or your back.  Nobody has their own room except the CO and XO.  And even that's pretty spartan.

I've tried Jackfruit which is a cousin of the Durian. Definitely an acquired taste.

My BIL served on a sub not all that long ago, I'd have lost my mind. I don't mind small rooms, but do not get between me and the exit. The no exit thing would be as bad as the whole underwater in a tin can thing. (I know, I know.... but that's how little miss irrational in head feels about them)

That's cool. I have a friend doing one of the sections by Adams this summer.

I don't know if I'll ever be able to thru hike. All that responsibility and save for retirement and shit. I hope to be able to retire early enough there still may be enough gumption in my bones to thru hike. But if not there's no shame in section hiking at all.

I also need to do the Wonderland Trail. Just need to find someone to take my daughter for 2 weeks or wait til she's big enough to come with (more likely).

I know how to say a few words in Basque (and I am NOT Basque, or even Spanish or French in heritage)
I refused to let C walk through the fogou at Carn Euny for fear he wouldn't come back out.
I hike to the top of a cinder volcano and looked in (NOT in Hawaii.)

If it is the section through Goat Rocks, it is incredible. It is on that section that the picture of Calvin comes from.

 The coolest thing I've done is been in a conference that European royalty was in attendance, & speaking. (Yes, I was within about 20 yards of real royalty.) You should've seen how much security was around the room. I've never seen so many dark suits with ear pieces in my life!
