I remember another one! Anyone here old enough to remember The Gong Show? I was on it! And so, did you get gonged? No, I was part of a gag where my college band "gonged" an act by interrupting them. The UCLA Marching Band comes out at about 4:16 or so. I'm on the left side a few rows back, playing a saxophone.

I've tried an attempted murder case. I was on a jury for an actual murder case. (not one upping, you just jogged my memory!)

Let's see.
I did chemistry experiments with an Olympic medal winner.
Rode a double century in 12 hours and five minutes.
Rode a century in 3 hours and 55 minutes.
Co-holder of the west to east cross MN record for a bicycle relay team. 253 miles in right around 10 hours.
Worked for and discussed WWII history with a guy who flew fighters for the RAF during the Blitz. And, obviously, was one of the rare survivors (life expectancy for a RAF fighter pilot in those days was 5 missions, so he must have been pretty good).

... Rode a double century in 12 hours and five minutes. Rode a century in 3 hours and 55 minutes. ... I bet you just went that fast so you won't have to sit on the painful little seat so long. But honestly, very impressive accomplishments. Hat off to you.

I've only been to 13 countries, but I have lived in four countries for extended periods of time.
I'm working on my third citizenship.
Otherwise, I'm pretty boring.
The only thing that is truly unique about me is not so much what I've done, but the childhood that I had.
It was one of intense opposites and contradictions.
e.g. coming from a wealthy family but having to steal food to eat

I was in a choir of specially-picked singers that went to South America for 2 1/2 months when I was 17. We lived families and sang our little hearts out. While we were giving our big concert in a large auditorium in one of the countries, there was a genuine, anti-American, Kill the Imperialists riot out in the lobby, and they broke through the doors, and then the men in the audience started fighting with the protesters. And here we thought, in our little naive' way, that we were just spreading peace and brotherhood throughout the land. We had to be escorted by members of the audience out of the area, and given rides home to our respective families. They covered our uniforms with their coats and warned us not to speak any English. One lady yelled at me because I had turned stoic instead of crying my eyes out. I read The Godfather almost all the way through when I got home. I was very upset. So were the people in the audience. The riot police never showed up. I got to see Cape Canaveral before all of the restrictions that are on it nowadays. We saw the pad where the unfortunate rocket burned with the three astronauts in it ( Apollo 1 ). I got to see the inside of the Hoover Dam, as mentioned above. I flew over the Amazon at dawn in the jet plane taking us to S.A. It looked like molten silver. The Amazon jungle was pristine from the air - no gold mining back then. I had to go to the hospital for suspected appendicitis during the Detroit Riots in 1968. I got stopped by Black Panthers in 1968-1969. I guess they expected me to run away, but we talked for awhile, and it was interesting.

She told the other biller and me about the hardships they went through, after coming from very wealthy families. She had a lot of interesting stories.

I am sitting here laughing to myself, because I really had a strong impulse to put that I wrote all of the "True Blood" books. Unfortunately for my fame and fortune, I didn't .

I've tried an attempted murder case. I was on a jury for an actual murder case. (not one upping, you just jogged my memory!) Ive been on 4 juries. Two were DUIs, 1 was an assault with a deadly weapon (woman tried to run over her ex's lawyer at the gas station) and the one last month was an aggravated sexual assault of a child and a couple lewd conduct charges as well. Voir dire was pretty wild. I am also friends with someone who was a key player in a national murder story. I didnt know him at the time the murder happened but met him later. He wasnt involved in the murder or anything, but he was in the middle of the whole mess. It was interesting to hear his side of the story as compared to what was put out in the media.

Not unique, but stood on top of the Acropolis in Athens staring out at the Mediterrean sea imagining sailers sailing into port a few miles away seeing the Acropolis and the Parthenon, wondering about the Greek Gods that inhabited the Temple. It had to be a tremendous sight for them.

I swam with whales in the wild and they sang to me. Best day of my life! Sorry kids, but it beat your births!
I won a silver medal in competitive slalom skiing. Oh to be young again!
I used to fling myself off of cliffs in a hang glider. Now I'm afraid of heights. Go Figure!
I danced the streets of Frankfurt.
