There's no "mass Exodus" GEL. Sometimes the only way some people can take a break from the board is to delete their account. It becomes a habit to automatically check-in here first thing you do in the morning after grabbing your cup of coffee - then it also might interfere with family, job, and commitments - you can tend to get caught up on checking what's going on here or catching up with online friends/topics.
Yes, when people quit/delete accounts, they lose their post-count but that's nothing in the grand scheme of things. They can always re-register/activate their account when they've dealt with whatever in their real-life took priority.
We've had more people than you can count on two hands quit and then re-register once they got done dealing with what had to be done in their world.

When I was trying to break the habit, I would still drop in and read...and then after 10 minutes, I would just go ahead and sign in and comment. So, that failed. I am actually banned from the forum from my work IP - that was the only way I could break the habit.

Archie's DW is about to have a baby. I imagine there's lots to do, and plenty of planning required. New things to purchase, things to change ... even when wonderful things happen, stress also shows its face. If Archie needs a break, I can sure understand that!

Please, tell me it is a joke. What is that 'he needs to do'? make another baby? 20 min top! If he had something to DO he would have told us what is that he has to do. Idk... Twenty minutes? I had no idea he was a marathoner. I had not said he was. One can prolong 'games of pleasure' indefinitely but baby making per se takes 20 min. Everything else is a personal preferences of the people involved.

Some of us feel that way about Virgil Maybe you just don't "get" his humor.Exactly! I had appreciate his humor A LOT! He is about the only one with humor here. Well, after reading Virgil's stressful poem I am thinking Virgil has a lot of hidden humor in him but letting it out in a wrong form. Face it! Only hilarious person could write what he wrote and PUBLISH it for people to see. It is insanely funny!

Twenty minutes is actually more than a marathon; it is a miracle.

Archie's wife, during a stare down (with one eye cocked), asked him, "Which would be more enjoyable for your life: Changing the baby's diapers or posting on message boards?"
The answer was pretty simple for Archie.

Minnesotalady said some people don't appreciate Archie's humour (which is another way of saying they don't get it) and I said some of us feel that way about Virgil. So I said we don't get his humour. Why do you need to repeat that?

I was elbow-deep in my washing machine today, trying to remove some coins that were stuck in the wringer. Sheesh, Archie had such a way with washing machines, yanno. He could have figured it out in two, three hours at the most. Best of luck with the new baby little one member of the household rugrat wet-diaper-wearing-whining-YM-wannabe, Arch.

LOL - Archie and his Washing Machine Drama. That was a classic!! *I miss him immensely too* . If you're reading this, "Come back to us, Archie!!"
GRG a/k/a goldenrulegirl : As for the "Games" threads, they're in a sub-category on the home-page menu titled "Games" ( imagine that ) .

The answer was pretty simple for Archie. *sigh* Here we have "Archie", "wife", and "cocked" all in the same sentence, and still not a delete-worthy sex-related pun in sight. He really is gone.

I find some people's posts pretty funny, but Archie is one of those guys that tried too hard with his humor. Him and bob Ross can come up with some good quips, but you have to put up with about 97 duds first.
Hey, to each their own though.

A little birdy told me that the wench was suffering a little bit since there are officially no more men on this board. I'm here to tell you I ain't NEVER comin back!

Last night I had a dream that there was a whole group of us sitting in a cafeteria, and Archie kept popping in with funny one-liners. I asked what he was doing there and he said his wife didn't mind if he hung out with YM on his lunch break. And he went back to eating his sandwich.
I think that's a sign I spend too much time here...
