Will someone please change their pic to a dragon. I think I would help beer immensely.

I am going to go through some serious withdrawal if someone doesn't step up and toss some pee-in-your-pants-funny one-liners around here on a regular basis in Archie's place. My daily "Archie-caused" chuckle made all of life's other BS tolerable. You all have been warned.

Asked him if he ever contributed anything helpful....or something like that.

Don't feel sad, Beer. I'm sure that Archie is... we'll he's staring down at us from that big message board in the sky. Or maybe from that rainbow bridge in the sky. Because... you know... he was Archie the Dragon. But wherever he's staring down at us from, he's smiling and saying, "I'll get you, Beer. I'll get you for sending me into that warehouse. I'll get you for taking my half of the score. Even if I have to kill every sentry on this @#$% rainbow bridge and possess some hobo's body, I will get you. "

Man who can't handle internet addiction is a wuss! Not a dragon... I don't want to be associated with someone like him.

I really understand why someone would stop. I haven't been posting here very long, but since I have, I have noticed myself posting on YM and saying, "just a minute" to my children when they are trying to get my attention.
When I noticed that I couldn't be the best mom that I could be in my free time and post as much I would like, I took a step back.
But I'm honest like that, I can admit when my extracurricular activities are encroaching upon my job and family duties. Since my priorities are my family and job and not YM, I only post on bathroom breaks. hehehehe!
I just can't be an excellent employee, excellent mother and an excellent YMer. LOL

Thanks for noticing, Beer. If one needs to take a break, post it. It's that simple.
I understand the all consuming nature of the boards. I do limit my time here and sometimes miss things. I have decided to concentrate on new topics for the latest.

How many posts did he have anyways? Was he over 20K?
He probably should take a break if that's the case.

<< checks post count, sees she's under 20K and breathes a sigh of relief >> Does same, gives daveboo one of these. But notices I have fewer than Sugi. That's because she's a total posthound. She posts faster than Toronto ex-Mayor-for-now Rob Ford can say, "I have a small problem with alcohol, crack and Justin Bieber."

Don't start recommending a post limit -- we'll lose more of our fun posters!! 20K posts are only like 19 or so posts a day....every day....for 3 years. No big whoop. Whenever I think of drastic moves to solve a, seemingly, minor problem I think of that movie Licensed to Drive. He throws the guy's car keys into the ocean or something and says "friends don't let friends drive drunk" and the other guy says "What kind of friend are you?" Archie can easily just create another account so maybe he should throw his computer in the ocean?

Sometimes I feel like I need to post MORE to be a good YM'er. I only post at work when things are slow. I'm too embarrassed to post at home and let my DH find out I'm a message board geek. Please don't hate me.
I'm sure Archie will be back at some point, its hard to stay away from this place.

Anyone who posts on the Games board is going to have a massively inflated post count. I don't go there too often anymore, but I can easily post a dozen times in five minutes when I do. And I'd wager that at least 40% of SL's post count owes to the Games board. The board has been active for 1233 days, hence 20K posts averages out to roughly 16 posts per day. That's not earth-shattering, although it definitely implies an hour or more per day spent on the boards. As a reference, DebMD averaged 110 posts per day during one of her busiest weeks. And the record for most posts in 24 hours is held by Tosh at 215. Of course, both were so out of control they were eventually banned, but I digress...

Did I think about it way too much, or did I not think about it enough? Perhaps I thought about some aspects more than was necessary, but gave insufficient thought to others. Perhaps there is no correct level of thought to be given a matter. Perhaps the notions of "underthinking" and "overthinking" are a symptom of our blindness to the unquantifiable nature of thought, or our errant insistence on quantifying it with univariate gauges, or our faulty belief that such gauges would give rise to singular optima or equilibria to define the "appropriate" degree of thought and thereby justify use of adverbs like "too much" and "too little". I refer you to the 1986 dissertation by John von Mackerel, who states in the opening paragraph of Chapter 3...
