i moved out of the northern tier states to get out of the snow belt
i dont mind a little once in a while....in fact it can be pretty and serene after a snow fall
but we finished with a 1/2 inch shy of a foot, and the shit was the heavy wet snowball snow
and i have a 65ft driveway......
snow blower is ordered......never again
the plow finally made it down our street at 530pm
then i had to shovel again for a path to the path
ok mother nature....enough is enough
i want springtime

Of course, then it started snowing again.

I was having all kinds of cabin fever yesterday, so DH, our dog and I went out and threw snowballs at each other. Well DH and I threw snowballs at each other, the dog just licked the snow profusely. It's amazing how much doing that simple silly thing made me feel better

Hey Empress! The yes vote won. :/ I voted no, for a few reasons.. Although from what I understand nothing is set in stone with that yet. We'll see how it plays out. I grew up in that neighborhood and no one there wanted it (literally every house down Brimbal had a vote no sign on the lawn) so I felt like I needed to support them.
We're down in MD until tonight, snowed a teeny bit yesterday but nothing much. I hear we had a "blizzard" at home last night.. Which turned into not much? My mom and brother are flying to El Salvador today so I'm hoping they can get out and not be delayed like we were last year due to the snow! Driving home tonight and I think it'll be pretty smooth sailing. GRG, how'd your trip down go? Ours was perfect!

Driving home tonight and I think it'll be pretty smooth sailing. GRG, how'd your trip down go? Ours was perfect! Can't say I'm surprised the yes vote won. Then when traffic really starts to suck (even more than it does NOW) they'll be shocked and surprised. Brimbal Ave in rush hour absolutely sucks. And there is a brand new Whole Foods less than what, 5 miles, down 128 in Lynnfield. They really need to over-saturate the area with a store than only a small percentage can afford to shop at without going into hock? Anyway, off the soapbox. I grew up in Lynn but lived and drove through that area long enough to know the pain it can and will cause. Well, we got about 4 inches where we are. Far as I know, the only blizzard was down on the Cape. They had Gloucester on the news last night but it didn't look like a lot of snow accumulating there. The biggest problem they were having was they were running out of road salt. Sucks to be them. The whole state is running out of salt, for God's sake! Not sure why Gloucester was special. Unless it's the fish sticks. God forbid Gorton's can't get those deliveries out. Ick. I hate fish.

Being in metro Chicago I have missed the last 2 storms that hit the east coast. However, we have already gotten about 60 inches (about 2x normal)AND are predicted to get 3-6 inches more today.
SOOOO glad I am retired and can mostly avoid having to go anywhere in crappy (cold, snowy, icy) weather.
Nancy When are you coming to Chicago & where? I live just outside the city.
