hence, my warning in the first post about that very thing. however, dark just doesn't want to see images, period. has nothing to do with whether the images make things hard to read.

Mine's very subtle and light, Kent. I chose this one for that reason. Easier to see my Display name and text below my avatar.

But if you highlight the text with your cursor, you can read the text just fine on any mini profile background.

None, really - I think it was the Display Name kent might have been having problems with seeing.

I just tweaked mine and I'm not a happy camper at all. I changed it again and this is what it's staying at.

[If I block images through my browser it blocks them on other sites, and I can't see the pictures people post in the threads here.  That's pretty obnoxious when all I want is to read a forum that's actually readable.

Well i think it's odd that you want to see pictures in one place on the board, but not another. no one (that I'm currently aware of) has chosen a moving background for their mini profile, and you already hide the avatars. so i guess i don't really see what the difference is between MP background pics and pics in a thread.

Pics in a thread are related to the topic being discussed, like economic charts on P&M, or pics of houses on house hunting threads. They aren't superfluous pics because some posters want the board to be 'pretty'.

Just wondering Dark, since you want to "hide these things", why you'd pick the brightest one you could find for yourself to use. And those lines going thru it make reading any of the text in your mini-profile near impossible without highlighting. Can't even make out your Display Name.

LOL!  I've often wondered how people pick their "hill to die on".  This particular hill doesn't seem worth the effort to me, Dark, but if it's your hill, it's your hill.

ok Dark. I removed that one because the rules state that you are not to use pictures that could induce seizures - and that was absolutely one that could.
