I don't think I ever saw the teletubbies. I've seen pictures of the characters, but I've never seen them animated; nor, have I heard them. If I remember correctly, they were meant to be watched by pre-schoolers. I'll have to see if I can find something on YouTube. I shouldn't be so darned ignorant!

Then, I will revise my statement. Now, that this is over, those to the Right of Miss Tequila can go back to demanding that the Teletubbies drop Twinky Winky for promoting homosexuality....

All of this and the network could have just issued a statement- 'What asshat said does not reflect the views of the network or its sponsors' and been done with it.

I LOVE it! What I love even more is that Phil stood behind his beliefs and never apologized for them. I don't watch the show and didn't know a thing about Phil before this happened. But I love that he didn't cave for money....but A&E did! You should give it a shot. Literally....... The other night Phil took the wife and one of the daughter-in-laws hog hunting. There they are out in the woods discussing everything under the sun, while waiting for a hog. Hilarious. Phil finally shoots one, and DIL complains about the noise from the shot...... Next, he has to gut the hog and has dear dil help drag the carcass. Try watching one episode. Phil is not your typical backwoods yocal.

I did a little research because I didn't remember the details. Jerry Farwell was the one causing the commotion about the purple one being gay. Who takes that nut seriously other than the extreme Christians? But nice of you to lump everyone in the right in with that nut. You realize there is a difference between the religious right and the right?

That is exactly why part of me believes this was a stunt. Until this fiasco I never would have considered watching duck dynasty but now I'm feel like I have a vested interest!lol

He used to work for Reagan, and had even flown to his ranch on Air Force One with them. Anyway, I was vaugly aware of the show, and one night at dinner, they both told me with a perfectly straight face that this toddler show featured a gay character. At first, I thought that they were pulling my leg, but I soon found out that they were both serious, and outraged over it. Twinky Winky is the guilty party...the purple one.

MT, I too, was not a follower of the program. My wife always asked is the show as dumb as the advertisements A&E would always show for the show. One night she said, do you ever watch it? I said, no after watching Storage Wars and Storage wars Texas, I am worn out on A&E. She said let's watch an episode, and see what all the hoopla is about.
Half hour later, she said, "well, not quite what I expected. Based on advertisements I expected non schooled rednecks cracking jokes at everyone's expense, but they just make jokes about their selves and family members, and is quite mild compared to some of the terrible situation comedies on regular national networks. The guys are actually pretty smart and know how to run a business, if you can read between the lines, and the old man is actually very intelligent, although Duck Dynasty is not my cup of tea."
Unfortunately, I am now watching them

Please excuse the slight deversion of the conversation. I just found it highly amusing and ironic about the Right wing Bible thumpers demanding that A&E should allow Phil to speak his piece on homsexuality condemnation when it wasn't long ago that they were demending that Twinky Winky should have his diapered butt kicked off the air because they had decided that he was gay...

I have cable (for mother) but I don't watch TV at all. I've just never been particularly interested in it, unless there was something special that "spoke" to me. The video you've posted here is ... umm ... yes. That may be the weirdest thing I've ever seen. I don't see how that would even appeal to a child, toddler, or not. What in the heck was that pink stuff?

Beats the hell out of me, MM. However, I do deserve a little sympathy, here. After Katrina, I was trapped at my daughter-in-law's house with her 2 year old. There was no tv,so she played one rerun of "Blue's Clues' on a continuouis loop on the VCR for about 8 hours per day. If that wasn't bad enough, it was about toilet trianing.
After 2 weeks of that, I moved back into my flooded house. It may have had 2 inches of mud on all the floors, but I didn't have to listen to the guy on Blue's Clues singing about toilet paper, and and about stitting on the toilet to see what you can "do-do-do".

Aw shucks.....And just today the racist pig (my apologies to pigs) Jesse Jackson was demanding a meeting with A&E and Cracker Barrel....His panties will really be in a wad now.
You the man Phil But seriously, that was uncalled for. Pigs deserve respect. I said "my apologies to pigs"

ROFL! Yeah, I'd have probably moved back into the mud, too! I don't think I could take it anymore. It's been too darned long! My patience isn't near what it was, I'm afraid. I watched a little of another Teletubbies episode on YouTube. I'm with MT. No way my kids would have been watching that hot mess! It makes no darned sense, at all! Give me Sesame Street, thank you very much!

Are you talking about Windy City Paul, or someone else? Did he (she) claim that this prediction was made on the MSN Boards, or did it go back to the old CNBC Boards where he and I were both members, if WCP is Windy City Paul. The CNBC board might have gone back to 2000, maybe a year or two before that. I cannot remember when the CNBC Boards were actually around on MSN, and then were picked up by MSN when CNBC dropped out of the message board maintenance. Windy City Paul had a huge crush on Maria Bartiroma as I remember

You remember quite a bit I see about WCP. You of all people, who bookmark our remarks for future reference accusing me of remembrances I enjoyed the old CNBC boards. There message boards consisted of their various programming hours, Squawk Box, Morning Bell, Closing Bell, etc. If memory serves me correctly, Squawk Box became "political" at times, and they had to add a politics and the markets segment on the message board. I seem to remember some of the talking heads would also add their two cents to the discussions, but management phased that out pretty quickly, as they did not want any personal messages by talking heads to become embarrassing to CNBC

Just WCP's. Yours? Not so much. Although you did state today "The bigotry shown by the many on the left is plainly posted here." but I am not allowed to ask you for names.

Bigotry, where it exists, isn't exclusively "left" or "right". It's an equal opportunity personality fault.

I have been called a bigot because I tend to disparage red-neck, illiterate swamp dwellers. This is simply not true! My republican friends have already labeled me as "elitist"...presumably because my education went beyond the 10th grade, which put me in rarified territory when I lived in Louisiana....
