Thank you, mmhmm. I don't agree, but thanks for the response. We weren't talking about an era here - or just a plain noun, as I believe the SBL was referring to. We were talking directly about the booik, which in that case, it should be capitalized. It was clearly, in this case, a proper noun - and proper nouns should be capitalized. I responded, not mmhmm. By definition, biblical is an adjective.
biblical
Bible is the proper noun of the adjective biblical.

... I have a question for you. If you were referring to another book - let's say....Gone With the Wind....would you capitalize the title when speaking about it? Do you mean if she used a Gone with the Windical quote?

Agreed, Thyme, but don't you think his mere presence is going to piss people off? I do. Sounds to me like people (not here - comments on stories on the web) want him stoned or hung. Well, it sounds like everyone can be pissed off then. A&E cut this baby in half.

I know. It was tongue in cheek because I asked the question specifically of her. Just a joke, Tenn. If I'm wrong, I'm wrong. Not a big deal there either....or anything new. Just a little touchy today, I guess.
So "Windical" is a word? Because "Biblical" is a word. Is that even an intelligent comparison?
It wasn't big deal. I was just asking a question.

LOL!!! Mmhmm...you know I agree with you that there isn't a place in every thread for Biblical quotes...but you can understand, I'm sure, that it seems a bit hilarious that we can talk about a man's anus here but Biblical quotes are banned. I have a question for you. If you were referring to another book - let's say....Gone With the Wind....would you capitalize the title when speaking about it? Yes. I wouldn't, however, captialize gone with the windable, just as I didn't capitalize biblical. If I don't capitalize the word Bible, it's due to operator error, not intent.

If enough people were constantly referring to windical ideas and passages it would become a word. Same way biblical did. Prior to the bible and the rise of christianity biblical wasn't a word either.

While I'm not a Christian, GEL, I do have a deep respect for anyone's spiritual beliefs. I won't knowingly disrespect the holy writings of any religion, including Christianity. To me, that would be disrespecting the very core of an individual. It's just something I won't do. Sorry if you've had a bad day, hon. Mine hasn't been a picnic, either, I'm afraid. Yet, the sun will rise tomorrow and it's a new day.

I kinda like the idea of windical ideas! Sounds like something all magical, and wonderful, and unicornish! I'm sure, if I give it some thought, I can put that one to good use!

And they'd get the same right back again, Archie. As I see it, that's why we're here. We're not here to kill each other, or hate each other, or degrade each other. A hug, a blessing, and a chance for friendship appeals to me a great deal more than an argument, or a put-down, or an aggressive attack.

LOL!! Some might. This is true. But those of us who aren't perfect aren't, unfortunately, that nice. We get touchy and grumpy and have the same failings as everyone else. It's just that we are blessed with God, good friends and wonderful family who forgive us!

I haven't experienced having the gay community rubbing their genitals in my face.Just watch the Tournament of Roses parade then and enjoy. I will, and I won't have anyone, gay or otherwise, rubbing their genitals in my face, frank. Sure........you say that now.....but lets see what happens after Tennesseer comes rolling by on the giant penis cake float, half naked with a high capacity mag dangling from his junk....yeah....add in a little Barry White playing in the background, a couple of glasses of Merlot.......yeah ..sure...we'll see........

The show is basically like watching almost any "reality" show - and watching through your TV screen the antics of someone else's life.
I don't begrudge them. They've built a fortune from their "Duck Commander" business, and now most all of them live in huge homes.
I really enjoyed (and laughed at) their trip to Paris episodes. They were clearly out of their element during that taping - especially in high-end hotels & restaurants. It was quite humorous watching them deal with other cultures & lifestyles. And figuring out which silverware or wine glass to use - or being exposed to trying Escargot and other pricey foods. Bet they never thought of snails as a gourmet food source before.
I admire that they've built their empire - I don't necessarily agree with "Uncle Si" and and some of their views on things, but that's their life and what they were raised on believing. It's been instilled in them since birth. I've spent some time in Louisiana - and many there are very rooted in their faith and beliefs - even if the rest of the world has become more tolerant.
I hear there's now a campaign by fans/viewers to have the show moved to FOX.

frankq - I am going to wear the cape to the Rose Bowl Parade. I sent it off today to have the inside embroidered in big letters with 'FrankQ' along with WWW.NOTMSNMONEY.PROBOARDS.COM.

... I was hoping someone could explain to me just what was vile/extreme/dishonest/disdainful about views that I happen to share. Since you seem more interested in semi witty one liners to express your preconceived notions, I will just take your replies to me as more "pure entertainment" for yourself. No one will be able to do so because your mind is closed on the topic. As it is for most people on this situation. That is why I am treating it as "pure entertainment" and posting accordingly. Do I know you?

Thank you, mmhmm. I don't agree, but thanks for the response. We weren't talking about an era here - or just a plain noun, as I believe the SBL was referring to. We were talking directly about the booik, which in that case, it should be capitalized. It was clearly, in this case, a proper noun - and proper nouns should be capitalized. I may be wrong, but I would generally capitalize the Bible like I would the Torah or Qu'ran, or any other holy book that I am made aware of.
