That fundamentalist Christians are judgmental assholes. Apparently, some of them certainly are ... either that, or they're Christians in word only.

Like I said in a previous post, they could have just paid their tab (without including a tip) & left the restaurant - instead they decided to scrawl a hateful msg on the tab in place of a minimal monetary bonus for the good service they'd received.
If it was such an affront to them to be waited on by this server (based on a preconceived notion), they could have (and should have ) just left the restaurant before even ordering their meal and gone somewhere else to dine.

This thread reminds me of a button I used to have on my purse that said "God knows when you don't tip". I had no idea the button was referring to not tipping gay servers. Of all the things to take a stand on. That'll show them gay people all right they'll be converting in no time.

That fundamentalist Christians are judgmental assholes. Um, yeah, that sound pretty assholey judgmental too. So, I don't think you get to put down an entire group of people based on two people.

Well, OK. So, now we are going to deteriorate into fundamentalist Christian bashing. So, that is any different from the 2 diners how? Sheesh.

Being Gay isn't against the law Back in the day it was. This is not "back in the day", in case nobody had shared that little bit of information with you. Step outside your narrow little world once in awhile. This is 2013.

I think, in most cases like this, the victims decide not to bother with taking it further. It's just not worth the effort of getting that involved. Much easier, and probably more satisfying, to just ignore the ignorance and go right on about your business. No tip is required for service; however, I'd be willing to bet this particular couple will be remembered.

No doubt - and now that the story's gone viral, they'll probably be remembered anywhere else they dine in their little corner of the world too.
They may find themselves being refused service from a few restaurants - or getting waited on with barely adequate service in the future.

I have seen and heard of religion being used as an excuse for many types of bad behavior but to use it to get out of tipping? Sheesh, now that is cheap!

You don't stiff someone for their work and service. A tip is not a requirement......If I was repulsed by a waitperson......I would not tip them. Yet you would eat the food off the plate their repulsive, gay hands touched. You never know if 'the gay' disease touched your food.
Would you drink your gay beverage?

I'm still trying to figure out how they knew he was gay? So, I believe, are we all, zib. Unless he was wearing a sign around his neck, I have no clue how they thought they knew his sexual proclivities.

I remembered the movie! THE BIRDCAGE with Robin Williams. That's what I meant about being obvious but restaurants, unless they are in primarily gay areas, aren't going to hire someone who is obvious about his or her orientation. So unless the server told them or they asked him and he told them, how could they freakin know? This is just weird. There has to be more to this story.

What? restaurants don't hire "obvious" gay people? Where the heck do you live? That would be discrimination in the real world.

Apparently, some of them certainly are ... either that, or they're Christians in word only.I do have A friend like that in real life and most of us in circle of friends either ignore her, don't take her too seriously. In my opinion, most of our friend thinks, judgemental attitudes and christianity doesn't go hand in hand.

In my understanding most of the servers in US don't even make a minimum wages. What I mean is owner of the establishment they seldom pays required minimum wages.
