Ummm, the poorest of the poor already had Medicaid long before the ACA. It's the middle class you're screwing here...
I agree the mess that will result from this should usher in single payer more rapidly. I'm lucky I'm one who should be ok in interim.

ObamaCare has not helped a single person. The reason is simple: it's unworkable. All it has done is provide a short-term salve on a gangrenous open wound. We're still going to have to amputate.
It's unworkable, and will collapse on its own, even if Trump does nothing. This of course is the plan- because all along it was designed to screw people over so hard they'd get on the trains...er, um...take the one size fits all government owned and controlled healthcare from Washington, D.C.
The ACA is dying, it deserves to die with dignity.

It gave me dental care for the first time in years. I know others that are also under-employed professionals whose lives improved a bit after the ACA was passed.

Here's some truth to go with my can of whup ass.
www.latimes.com/nation/la-fi-obamacare-satisfaction-20160525-snap-htmlstory.html
More than 60% of working-age Americans who signed up for Medicaid or a private health plan through the Affordable Care Act are getting healthcare they couldn’t previously get, a new nationwide survey indicates.
And consumers are broadly satisfied with the new coverage, despite some cost challenges and an ongoing Republican campaign to discredit the law.
Overall, 82% of American adults enrolled in private or government coverage through the health law said they were “somewhat” or “very” satisfied, according to the report from the nonprofit Commonwealth Fund.

Yes, but it screwed you over. Because it's dying and going away regardless. The fact that you're uninformed doesn't make me a liar.

ObamaCare has not helped a single person.
Of course it did. When 40+ million had no insurance 47,000 died every year because of it. With 20+ million getting the ACA those deaths dropped. I can see why avowed Christian pro-lifers have an issue with that. I really can, but you just don't know why.

According to a nationwide survey? So, what- self reporting? Yeah. Makes sense. And anyway- whatever they're getting cannot continue as a practical matter so it does not matter.

It may have screwed you over in your opinion, but it gave me new fillings and a crown. You are a liar because you told a lie. Its that simple. I won't discuss how to reason properly.
And ... whether it goes away or doesn't won't change the fact it benefited me in the past. For someone who wants to win people to the conservative cause, I don't get why you think telling proveable lies helps your cause.

hmmmm 20/30 million is small? i beg to differ with him, anyway- i think that this whole process makes single payer FAR more likely.

I won't say Obamacare didn't help ANYONE... because it most certainly did. The truth of the matter though is that it hurt more than it helped.
It's a mathematical equation where it doesn't balance out or show a positive gain.

It helped a lot of people. Consider the source of the claim it didn't help anyone.

You - who I am sure - convened a conversation with each and every one of them to ascertain - without doubt - that no one was helped. You aren't even trying anymore with your tom foolery here.

The fact that you're uninformed doesn't make me a liar. No, but saying it didn't help anyone when it clearly did does (make you a liar). It may not help them always but that's not what you said. Why do you insist on stating opinions as if they are fact?

Why do you insist on stating opinions as if they are fact? It's hysterical! What is she uninformed about? That she received dental care? I'm really curious! How on earth did she become unformed about her own medical care? Don't stop him, Moon. It's too rich, it's like a gooey chocolate dessert I shouldn't eat, but it's too much fun

Why do you insist on stating opinions as if they are fact? I could say the sun rises in the east and someone here would argue with me about it. ObamaCare is a failure. It's a fact. It might have done some short term good for some people, but the claim is that repealing it will "take away healthcare from 20 million" people it supposedly helped. False. They're going to lose the benefits anyway when it collapses. Not if. When. The responsible thing to do is fully repeal it and start over with individual bills which address ONLY the actual problems with healthcare- not this comprehensive welfare program stuff when you already have medicare and medicaid which are insolvent.

I'm curious- now that I've been called a liar by a poster AND a moderator-- what's the recourse? I mean, look- I'm not stupid. I know we don't actually have moderators- we have liberals who are biased and prone to get into the fray-- even support and make personal attacks like this. It's just disappointing that the mask is off and we don't even pretend anymore.

Paul, if you had stuck to "it's a failure", which I think most of us could generally agree with, then I doubt anyone would jump your shit over it. I agree with the premise of Obamacare, but not the execution of it. But you don't stop there. You have to take it too far and say it didn't help anyone when that's an obvious falsehood! So, yes, I'd say that particular statement is a lie, and since you made it, it makes you a liar by default.
However, my point in saying it wasn't so much to actually call you a liar as it was to point out what would *make* you one (since you said someone being uninformed *didn't* make you one).

"We're going to do repeal and replace, very complicated stuff," President Trump told reporters
This one statement more or less sums up Trump's solution to everything from immigration to terrorism to trade to crime to healthcare.
Will someone please explain to this complete cretin modern life is complex,we no longer live in caves and if there were simple solutions to these complicated issues the developed world would have stumbled on them by now.

what is interesting is that they are no longer tossing it out wholesale, but since they've put their energy into "repeal!" for 6 years, they refuse to just state they are going to modify it. repeal gave way to repeal and replace without a whimper, they can revamp 20% of it, or repeal and replace with "trumpcare" - which revamps 20% of the ACA. like anyone cares what it is called. we all just want something in place.

You forgot the "that works". 6 years ago, full repeal would have worked. 4 years ago, full repeal would have worked. 2 years ago, full repeal MIGHT have worked with some speed bumps... but once it was fully up and running, and entrenched... full repeal is no longer possible without destroying the economy.

That's just it. Anyone with a basic understanding of math understood that it was going to be a disaster... they wanted to be rid of it before the disaster happened. Now it's too late and it's starting to implode (as those that understand basic math said it would). The only question now is: How much damage will be done to the economy before it can be replaced?

My dental care consists of me paying for pediatric dental care which I'm unable to use. How did you get dental being an adult?

My dental care consists of me paying for pediatric dental care which I'm unable to use. How did you get dental being an adult? If that was directed at me, I paid extra for it, above the subsidy that covers my "medical" (but, my pediatric dental care IS covered for free {IE: paid for by subsidy}... just as yours is)

Personally, I think it's stupid that dental and vision are separate. "Medical issues" are "issues of the body"...
What? Teeth and eyes aren't part of the body all of a sudden?

Ah, I get no subsidy so I get to pay for what others get to use. It actually was directed at Opt but since she is also subsidized that answers the question.
