Tenn-- you are so well informed, could you please post some articles about how Americans, or Israelis for that matter, rape their male and female prisoners of war? Thx.
i'm guessin we'll see the abu grave hazing photos for moral relevancy on this case. what else could they have?
oh yes and if an American criminal animal has done something, it's ok for the the muslim culture to do it.
imho isolated, nothing in common(except the crime), abhorrent acts done by non muslims, do not make abhorrent acts that are a much larger part of the muslim "culture", acceptable

This thread is about a CBS reporter who was assaulted in Cairo, amongst a society that condones this behavior and would likely have not punished the attackers IF they had even been arrested. As I liberal, I know you have a duty to make it about Americans, Christians and Jews who do bad things, but please try to stay on topic if possible... It is my duty ed to show Christians, Jews, Muslims, Americans, Egyptians, whites, blacks hispanics, Asians, are all not without sin. Krickitt mentioned the U.S. does not/did not rape prisoners of war. But that is not true: United States: In Taken by Force J Robert Lilly estimates the number of rapes committed by U.S. servicemen in Germany (at the end of WWII) to be 11,040. In a letter to Time Magazine, an American Army sergeant wrote "Our own Army and the British Army ... have done their share of looting and raping.... It is also common knowledge that American soldiers are persona non grata in the homes of decent girls in many of the liberated countries because of their attitude that any foreign girl is automatically a prostitute.... This offensive attitude among our troops is not at all general, but the percentage is large enough to have given our Army a pretty black name, and we too are considered an army of rapists." en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rape_during_the_occupation_of_Germany#US

Very likely, as you know in the liberal world, making a Muslim touch a dog is the same as gang raping a female reporter...except the people who did the dog thing actually got punished...

was it wise for a blonde haired blue eye women and the company she works for to put herself in that crowd? do journalists actually believe the hype about "journalists" being some kind protected moral super heros?

Mary Gallagher, a former sergeant in the Air National Guard, says that within weeks of being deployed to an air base outside of Baghdad in 2009 she was brutally assaulted by a fellow sergeant who burst into the ladies' room, pushed her up against the wall, pulled her pants and underwear down and ground his genitals against her, talking the whole time how much he was enjoying it.
"I thought he was going to kill me that night," Gallagher told NBC in an interview. "I felt completely isolated and alone and really scared. Here I was, in the middle of a foreign country in the middle of a war."
When she reported the attack, she says her commander’s only response was to reassign her assailant and tell her "this stuff happens."

History is history. How about some stories about modern day rape, condoned by gov't? I doubt it was even condoned by America back then. Therein lies the difference.

And yet every one of your examples thus far precisely meets my definition of your proclivity to portray Americans, Christians and Jews ONLY in the worst possible light. Let's see you post an example of some Muslim perpetrators...or can't you find any? If not, turn the "liberal reality distortion" filter off on your browser...

post WWII rapes? come on. i'll bet more GI brides came to America than all the other allies put together.
couldn't get some vietnam rape stats? how about grenada?
we get your argument, we just don't buy it.
yes some Americans do bad things (bad) some non Americans do bad things (bad), not ok because of above))
i contend the proportion is no where close to even. some think it is even for all. and some think America does it all and the rest are victims.

liberals pointing out the rape "claims"(that are leading to lawsuits) only points out what non progressives have always known. men and women don't belong in the military together, especially in war areas under close quarters.

So lets blame this on the "new Egypt"
first of all:
were they protesters, mubarick's paid thugs, military or just criminals?
we can assume they were all devout muslims.

History is history-one cannot forget it did occur. Now you seem to be the expert of what was and was not condoned 65 years ago. Please provide proof it was not condoned and the American soldiers were all prosecuted for rape. Thanks!

There is no new Egypt yet. Muslim Brotherhood is planning to put people in the parliament, but not go for the presidency. I've noticed this is what they do in other countries, also. Very patient, and determined in their mission. What do the talk people call it?? Creeping incrementalism? I hear that in reference to our gov't, but I think it fits the mission of the jihadists, also.

believing we can co exist with devout muslims is about as crazy as believing Jesus will protect people from handling deadly snakes, imho.

So lets get rid of all the men. ;D and start the draft! ;D Why? We get the number of American women we get to volunteer to volunteer. If that means we have a smaller military, so be it.

It is my duty ed to show Christians, Jews, Muslims, Americans, Egyptians, whites, blacks hispanics, Asians, are all not without sin. Don't recall anybody say they were. In fact, "Let any one of you who is without sin be the first to throw a stone..." [from somewhere in the Bible] pretty much says that no (wo)man is without sin.

It appears you have a duty to make it about Muslim rapists. What's the difference? In this case, it was Muslim rapists, but rapists come in all varieties, and this is about rape, is it not? You've got an agenda, Ed. Expect others to have them, as well.

My daughter's BFF from HS joined the army straight out of HS. She has been in Iraq, is at the end of her 4 years and stateside now. This is just one female GI, but she has loved her time in, and found the love of her life, also. He plans to re-enlist, she does not, but they plan to be together forever. This one girl in the army had a good experience. This girl is beautiful. Some of you from way back on the old MSNBC us news boards remember me talking about her when she first joined. It has been a positive experience for her. We see her whenever she is home-- she stays here-- and boy, does she have stories about life in the army and the crazy (usually ha-ha funny, sometimes not so funny) ladies in there, but not one story about abuse by men.

Damn! I spent nearly 20 years co-existing with devout Muslims. Never had an ounce of trouble. All were very kind and considerate. Not all were particularly friendly, but the vast majority were always polite. Many I knew were anxious to form friendships with people from other nations, and who held different beliefs. Who knew?

I don't see the Muslim factor here. As bad as it was the rage against the US by some there put her in a position of taking a bullet for her country as they say. Her employeer should never let her be in that position in the first place. On top of that her support group should never let her get seperated from them. Not excusing anyone but some bad choices all around.
