Nah, I started an entirely new job awhile ago and I need training on their current systems and what-not. Too long to explain and boring anyways. I had to make a lot of sacrifices to relocate my family and one of them in the short term was seeing my son.

These boards are replete with people bashing everybody else's political party, and their politicians.
In response I have posted several times a standing offer to pact with anyone who will not vote for a single solitary politician at any level of government who is currently in office, or who has previously held an elected office.
I have thus far been attacked, reviled, cursed and traumatized by the absolute absence of a single enlistee.

It doesn't really matter if a collapse happens this fall, next spring, or in 2015. I don't think a person has to be a fringe lunatic nutcase to be concerned about the financial and political stability of this country. It makes sense to prepare for those contingencies. Our financial system is on shaky ground, and I think it is more idiotic to keep believing in hope and change when the wrong changes are being pursued. Maybe America will pull out of it and we'll keep on truckin' as they say. Maybe not, it can't hurt to take a common sense approach to providing for emergencies. For those vocal champions of that cause, may I suggest that although protecting your house and family is a valid concern, I don't know that such a willing resort to violence adds any credence to the message. It most likely flags you as a "terrorist", and keeps more conservative preparers from reaching out and helping others, as they don't want to be falsly branded as WACO waco's.

MN-Investor Message #99 - 07/19/09 07:41 PM
If you live long enough (I'm in my mid-50s), you realize that economic disaster predictions come every few years. And each time it's going to be different, each time it's going to be the disaster of all disasters. I was trying to remember the name of the book my dad read about 30 years ago that was a big seller, telling everyone to store up food and water because there was going to be an economic collapse. I found it on the New York Times Non-Fiction Best Sellers list (Howard Ruff's book). Interesting books in the top 10 non-fiction best sellers in the past 35 years: 1974 - You Can Profit From a Monetary Crisis by Harry Browne
1979 - How to Prosper During the Coming Bad Years by Howard J. Ruff
1980 - Crisis Investing: Opportunities and Profits in the Coming Great Depression by Douglas R. Casey
1987 - The Great Depression of 1990 by Ravi Batra Then, of course, I remember Dad buying gold in the early '90s. He listened to the right wing nuts who said that the economy would tank under Clinton, that the whole country was going to hell in a handbasket. Dad paid $400 / ounce. Under Clinton the economy did fine and the price of gold tanked. When Dad had to sell it in 2001, he got just $260 / ounce. And who can forget how the whole world was going to go back to the stone age because of Y2K and its effect on computers? Bet you can still buy some remote cabins built at that time and never used. So, as for me, I'll be like 99% of the people in the US, unprepared for a total economic meltdown. If it comes, it comes. We'll survive the best we can. But I've listened to the boy crying wolf too many times to get all worked up one more time. Things may be better, they may be worse, but I seriously doubt they'll be catastrophic. Just my opinion.

Perhaps, but my point is that when you go around mouthing off about screw the government, I'm armed to the teeth, and I'll kill everyone I see within 500 yards of my compound, you will be at the very least labeled a waco, possibly put on a watch list, and your opinion is immediately rejected. This is hardly the proper way to sound the alarm.

Henry, I have been pushing to get as many people as possible to look into both the Constitution Party and American First Party since this past election. I have also repeatedly stated how we need to completely clean house from all who currently sit in local, state, and federal office (save for Ron Paul). So, if enough people actually do the homework, they will see for themselves that these two parties believe in a complete Constitutional government......not anarchy.

If dear old dad held onto his gold until 2001, why couldn't he wait a couple of years longer when gold jumped to over $900/ounce? It seems he had the right idea, just some bad timing or advice as to when to get out.

Meg Whitman just announced she is going to run for governor of California and Carly Fiorina is also thinking about tossing in her hat to run against Jerry Brown or Gavin Newsome....these ladies are expected to spend @30 million of their own money to fund their campaigns....so these fringe parties can talk the talk but can they walk the walk and bring in megabucks for their campaigns....? At age 80 he had some major health issues and needed to move closer to my brother and me. He needed that money to buy a house. (He passed away in Jan 08). BTW, in the 70s, early 80s (I forget the exact date), my dad did make a killing on gold when it peaked at that time. He just didn't repeat the experience in '01. Oh well. He always had enough to live comfortably and has left my mother with enough to also be comfortable, so it doesn't really matter any more about the gold in '01.

Well, I have never said "screw the government". I have and do advocate replacing the current people in office with a whole new group of individuals who view the United States Constitution as the rule of our land, and not a roadblock to their path of fascism, as the current DNC & GOP do.
I never said that "I'm armed to the teeth and I'll kill everyone I see within 500 yards to my compound." First of all I do not have a compound. I have already fully explained that I have responded to others who have proposed to me how starving hordes of individuals would attack and kill me/my family for my provisions. I do not believe that that will actually occur, but again, I have prepared for that remote contingency, and if my answer to posts to me generated by others, about the use of deadly force in those scenarios disturb you, I make apologies. I'm not a victim. I'm a fighter. If only hapless victims seem credible to you, then you go right ahead and throw those labels right at me.

I simply think that perhaps some may be defeating the purpose and bringing unnecessary harm upon themselves in being so free with their information. Take my neighbor for instance, he has shown me everything. Not just me but many others. I try to point out the fact that he is now a target. That is my only point. I will never be a victim.

Not really White Supremacists and Neo-Nazis also keep quoting a return to the Constitution and believe in being armed to get their point of view across to those who they like to intimidate or spew their fear tactics.... do you have any African Americans in your group that is going to change our country or are you white only militias?? Do you guys always wear field jackets or cammies to play the role and carry around a copy of the Constitution along with side arms...?? BTW I don't care much for Kool aid but prefer Diet Pepsi which works just fine for me

I disprove every one of your BS accusations, and you just can't admit that you don't know squat about most everything that you like to run your mouth about. That is a sure fire sign of a total coward. When shown that you don't know what you are talking about, you just can't bring yourself to say "I'm sorry. I was as dead wrong as I could be." No, that would take courage, and you have proven that you lack that commodity.

I started this string. If you don't like it, then you take a hike. Oh, and by the way. "1st Recon is not trained at Camp Geiger. Only Communications and NBC are taught there. So take your Phony self someplace else. The real Marine that you spoke to, obviously gave you false info to throw you off. Also, in North Carolina, it's 2nd Force Recon not 1st. You'll find them located in French Creek, Camp Lejeune, NC., and are never stationed in the locations that you listed.
