You just don't get it. Sigh. Let me explain it to you. If you defend yourself or your property from someone and it results in death, you're BAD. You're especially bad if you're white and they aren't because you are a murderer as well as racist.

I'm not making any judgment on good or bad. However the law does not allow you to shoot people over property damage. You can defend yourself from imminent harm. Imminent to be judged by a jury.

I do keep myself updated on AR law by periodically retaking the CCL course at a local community college. I don't need to for the license renewal, but do it because a large part of the time is spent on AR's firearm laws, regulations. It's taught by a family friend who was a sergeant in the AR state police (retired). He laughs every time I keep showing up. Is it really that paranoid in the urban areas now that anyone carrying a gun is looked upon as going to just start shooting people in a crowd ? What about getting run over by a "car nut" like that guy who ran down those people not that long ago. Cars are every where, no worries in crowded areas of being flattened ?

again, it depends on the circumstances. concealed carry in an urban area, I don't look twice. AR-15 and body armor, somethings wrong.

. it really does make me unhappy, but not for the reason you think. i think this world is what we make of it. if this world is cruel and unfair, then the best place to look to change it is within. you might start with that "little or no feeling" bit. I would never injure someone just because I could. They would have to approach me after being warned off, or threaten with a weapon ( I consider someone twice my size who is approaching and trying to intimidate as having a weapon, their body ). none of those scenario's i presented earlier match this. so, now we are all square. i violate your space innocently, and i don't die. i am good with that.

If someone tries to break into this house, they will be shot. They will not be shot for stepping into my yard. What color that person is makes absolutely no difference to me.

Honestly the body armor sets off more alarm bells than the rifle, even a silenced one. The body armor says he's expecting to get shot at. Most people don't get shot at all that often, unless they're soldiers, police, or up to something shady like a drug deal. The combo of a silenced rifle and body armor is even weirder. Like he's expecting to need to shoot people as quietly as possible but still be getting shot at in return in the very near future. I can't picture any self defense scenario that would require a silenced weapon and body armor. Granted, it's still a mostly free country, so he can wear the stuff just as a fashion statement, but it's damn weird. If he wasn't expecting to attract police attention cruising around with a silenced combat style rifle and body armor he's either an idiot or insane.

17 shots and they hit him once in the leg These cops should be fired because they obviously shouldn't be using guns no matter the reason. They suck at it!

I'm no expert, but I thought that you could in Texas if it entailed a threat to your livelihood.

Um, no I won't go to jail for shooting someone stealing my purse but you go ahead and think that. I don't know about that, but if you're a guy wearing a fanny pack and you shoot the guy that steals it, you're going away for a long time on general principle after the robber's family beats the shit out of you with bamboo sticks.

I thought their laws were very similar to Arizona, where there's a specific list of crimes that allow you to shoot without an imminent threat. In Arizona it has to be armed robbery. If they're unarmed and jacking your stuff, even a mechanic's tools, a trucker's truck, etc., you can't shoot.
