Dear former swim coach, I wasn't good enough to be on the team but apparently I am good enough to contact for money to support someone you know who is training for the 2024 Olympics. Seriously. I don't know this person; I am sure she is very nice, very competitive and single-minded in her quest to get to Paris. But sending out emails to people whose presence on your team meant nothing to you (unless they were doing some menial tasks for you) is kinda blatant, don't you think? Besides, you're the one with the million-dollar house, Tesla, European vacations, and motor home (on order -- base price almost $200,000), all of which you brag about on FB. How's about you give her the money?

So, the Flori-duh thread is dead, but I have to post this somewhere: Sheriff Grady Judd is often quite the funny guy. And thanks Ms Jones, for making our state look dumb for today. Guess it was your turn to make us the "oh-duuuuuh" capital of the U.S. of A. A woman who was upset with how long her order was taking in a McDonald’s drive-thru in Lakeland stormed into the restaurant, threw a violent tantrum and began twerking Thursday afternoon, the Polk County Sheriff’s Office said.
Deputies said Tianis Jones, 22, of Lakeland, barged into the restaurant on U.S. 92 East shortly after 5:30 p.m. and began complaining to an employee at the counter.
One minute later, she threw a small plastic sign and several bottles toward the worker before walking behind the counter and throwing cups on the floor and at employees, investigators said. They said one of Jones’ relatives came into the store to try to hold her back and calm her down.
Deputies said Jones was asked to leave multiple times, but she remained in the store, calling 911 to say, “I’m 5 months pregnant. These people don’t know how to run a (expletive) McDonald’s!”
...“As Jones got to the exit, she turned toward the employees, lifted her shirt to expose her belly, then turned and began twerking at them,” the Sheriff’s Office said.
...Sheriff Grady Judd described the woman’s behavior as outrageous.
“I don’t know why this woman got as angry as she was, but as the saying goes, she’s a few fries short of a Happy Meal,” he said. “She better not complain about the food we serve her at the county jail.”

Dear SIL,
My lunch with you this weekend validates my decision to block you on fb. A family memorial luncheon is not the place to gripe about guns and how IL takes up to two years to issue a new firearm license and you're worried you might not get one before guns are banned. You have no business with a gun. And several sites including forums state that it takes 60-90 days so per usual you're exaggerating.
Signed, Woman who married your brother

Dear student worker when I tell you I have a meeting why did you call me just as my meeting started? Signed An irritated payroll manager I had to remind one superintendent (construction company) about turning in time by certain time. This was before I got computer and payroll software so doing all that crap by hand and looking up withholdings in state and fed "booklets" He kept bringing in late and I got fed up. I cut all the worker's check since I knew it wasn't their fault. But I "forgot" to cut his. Told him he turned it in late so I would get around to it whenever. He barked back that his was turned in same time as guys. I told him it was on the bottom of the stack and I ran out of time so he would have to wait. He went to boss man and boss man told him it might be in his best interest to turn in payroll when I requested it!! He reminded super that "she cuts and signs checks" He was never late after that

The Delete key is fabulous, though. I use it a lot. I may run into this coach next month at the swim banquet though. Here's my current, "you are very wealthy and they should pay." Our golf course is owned by playing member owners. The note is held by some who bought the debt of the g.c. several years ago. The member owners pay to own the golf course and therefore, own it's problems. They are wealthy. H. figured out that if they added about $1000 a piece over several years the issues would be done. The issue is blocked drainage that will require dredging. The ponds are filling with bird doo and fish doo so they need dredging. Both of those dredges are hazardous waste requiring special transit/treatment. My friend keeps griping at me about this. Yes, the HOA owns the drainage into the golf course. So she thinks the HOA should pay. Also, A lot of people own homes that back onto the g.c. Nothing has been said about their chipping in.
Then the overseeding required every year. 60% of the money donated was by people who do not golf, do not own a house on the g.c. or ownership in the g.c.

Update on the coach and the swim banquet thing: coach was a no-show (she was off on some Caribbean Island, at the new home of a friend). The amount of traveling she does makes me wonder if she is dodging someone or something. I swear, every time she posts on FB where she is, I look up that place to see if it has an extradition treaty with the U.S. and is just scouting a hideout.

Dear Father,
Why in the world did you think it’s a good idea to post what you did on FB? Your DIL is part of the decision making and you both have the same last name. Why did you comment when it doesn’t affect you at all? Your son asked you to delete it about 5 hours ago and it’s still there…. Way to make points with your son and DIL.
Signed, Disappointed daughter
PS - This just adds to more crap that bugs the shit out of your son and DIL. Good job! 😵💫

Damn Transmission -
I do appreciate that you waited to crap out until I was off the interstate. But if there are transmission problems, don't have the engine light come on! Stupid Ford -- you suck for making a dual transmission....my car has less than 68K miles! The tranny should not go out this soon. And you also suck for having a completely slow service center in multiple locations so nothing could be done/fixed until the middle of the month. Which is why the car is at a specialty repair shop.
Damn rental car companies --
You all suck for not having any vehicles for multiple day rentals...I am talking to all of you people. I had to rent a u-Haul transport van for the next 5 days!

With Turo you can rent a private person's car for however long. Friends in AZ used one when zero rentals were available even though they had one reserved.

So......................for those of you who remember my office saga of Hot Mama and the Dude Who Dumped Her........................they are engaged! Yup. Been living together and will be making it official next spring. So I guess love really does find a way back.
(For those not here that long : Hot Mama is a twice-divorced gal with two kids. Dude worked for us for a short time, fell hard for her, they tried to keep the relationship quiet, until they couldn't. He came to work one day, and in the middle of the office, dumped his job and her).

I never enable location tracking on any apps - except for the Maps functionality and only when I am using the app. You can turn off a lot of tracking if needed.

I brought my car in for a state inspection a few weeks ago (it passed) and last Wednesday when I was all packed up and ready to head downtown for my first office visit in over 2y, the car wouldn't start. I've had a loaner car since last Friday, and am just waiting on the dealership to call me that my starter has been successfully replaced, for about $600. I mention the loaner, because that was blind dumb luck. I had reserved a weekly rental at a tolerable rate, after the dealership told me they were so saturated with recall appointments that they didn't have a loaner for me. and then the AAA tow truck took forever and a day to get to me, including reassigning drivers. by the time I got to the dealership, Friday's loaners had started coming back in, so I was able to take one and cancel my paid rental. this was all after scrambling to return the rental work will be reimbursing me for, since the boss said "figure it out and get here" on Wednesday. hugs, I can absolutely commiserate with you here.

I actually gave her a short list of nice local venues, some historic. If our idiot boss can keep his stupidity to himself and not make this all about him (yeah, he's THAT kind of narcissist), it could be a nice wedding.

I got my unclaimed property check from the State of WY.
I'm grief eating.
I told my golf friend the saga of an ex-fiance's swindling. She said that's a heavy weight to carry with no resolution. The wind was too cold and strong to golf.

Facial hair. So far facial Nair is not thorough. I still have to tweeze. There must be something besides those little mini shavers. And not hot wax. Dear Eyebrows, go grab some hairs for yourself. Thin is not a good look for you. The dying didn't work that great. I do not recommend it. So, back to mascara and brow pencil. Tattoo is an option but spendy.

Dear CSR,
I’m convinced you don’t listen to my messages. You never answer when I call back. I have left 5 voicemails to explain that it’s easier if you email me what I need to know. I’ve given you our company ID number, which is tied to my email address. I’ve also stated that we are linked to 2 different sub-companies and there no open tasks. If it’s something else, please email me!
Just email me already!! This has been going on for over a month. I call you back on the same day you call me, but you return my call 1-2 weeks later, when I’m not at my desk too.
Signed, Just email me already!!

Dear Post Office: I have been receiving checks from a company for NIL for over a year. Every single month. There has never been a problem with delivery. Until last Friday. The check showed up in the informed daily digest but never in my mail box. The other mail that was shown arrived. I gave it a few days and called the post office. I'm told that since that person has not been receiving mail here regularly (not true), the substitute carrier returned it to sender. Now NIL in Canada has to attempt to get the check reissued. No, it's not a lot of money but that is not the point. She has been getting mail at this address for 3 years. Just because it's a Ukrainian name, you decided she doesn't live here. I was actually told since it's a Russian name and no Russians live in this town. I told NIL everything except that no Russians live here. She would have been rightfully livid.

Dear next door neighbors, Hope the house swap was worth the plumbers at your house for the third day in a row. Jeez, what exactly did those folks leave behind in your pipes? And I just saw the Amazon Prime truck drop off stuff at their house. I am hoping it's normal, everyday items, and not new fixtures.

you're going to incite PTSD over here... about 3w after buying this house, I had three plumbers re-piping the drain lines in the basement because they were incorrectly sloped with valleys and certain deposits weren't getting all the way through. 🤢 the guy I bought the place from had gutted it himself, and I'm still finding things that weren't done right. most of what's left at this point is cosmetic, but it still needs attention.

This house was completely gutted and rebuilt from the studs about 2 years ago, so the issue had to be the creepy people who stayed next door. Not serial killer creepy, but not people I wanted here forever. I mean, how much can you clog pipes? OK, don't answer that.
