Thanks y'all. His health was compromised, so that no doubt played a role. And he was in his seventies. Also a factor. But this is when it stops being other people's pandemic and gets real, yanno? Sorry for your loss.

I'm SO tired of people who don't understand the 6 foot rule. It does NOT mean walking right up behind me when I'm standing in line, waiting to check out. And yesterday, I saw an idiot dad at Kohl's complete with wife & a couple of kids. Everyone was wearing their mask properly in his family, except for him. His mask was hanging off of one ear. So, what happens if he picks up the virus, and brings it home to his young family?

I figure between the cart and my body, it's close enough to 6 feet. I do leave some bonus space because people still need to be able to push a cart between me and the person in front of me. And I've been really good lately about letting people with fewer groceries go in front of me/point out the shorter line next to us that they can't see because we're backed down an aisle. My cart is always full and sometimes overflowing so if someone's got less than 2 dozen items directly behind me, they may as well go. I'm not that pressed for time. And it's making other people happier because they don't have to wait behind me.
Edited to try and fix my blushing emoji.

This morning at Meijer’s they only had one person working in the deli. People were really in my space behind me. I was very annoyed.
I needed soda. Bought mandarins, a watermelon, two cantaloupes (buy one get one trap)bananas, ground beef, hamburger buns, the deli ham and tortillas, smart balance butter, potatoes, and ice tea mix. I went to Meijers to go to US bank and Deposit DH’s receipts from yesterday.
He worked today, and made it to Meijers just in time to deposit today’s receipts. I told him what I bought-he still came home with a huge package of chicken breasts, two pork loins, bacon, frozen hash browns, spices, cucumbers, peppers, soup mix, a box of scones and two mangos.
He said the meat was for his mother. I was PO’d he bought so much. I do not mind him shopping for his mother, but she probably did her own shopping today.

And the lines on the floor are not necessarily indicative of six feet, if the person in front of you has not moved up in the checkout line yet. It's a about common sense, people. Seriously, I do wonder why and how some people survive to adulthood sometimes.

Totally about common sense.
At the hotel where I stayed last week, they have a mask inside requirement. When I was getting on the elevator to leave (wearing a mask), the man getting off was not wearing a mask. I was standing back just in case that happened and it did.
I also did not like their 3 person in an elevator rule. The elevator is too small for more than 2 unless it's the same family.
Elevators at the medical center allow 2 people in the elevator and they are much bigger than the hotel elevator.

Dear pizza counter person: My purchase was $12.88. It took you long enough to add (by hand) the cost of a can of soda to the cost of my pizza. You also took a long time to put the money in the register; long enough so that I realized you were hoping I would walk away leaving my $0.12 behind. I did leave, so that became your tip. I would have left more, but you wanted that $0.12.

When I was doing PT/OT earlier this summer, the elevator was sort of a "hey, do you want to share or not" type question from me as I was usually the first one into it. It was one of the large ones that would probably fit a hospital bed and staff so plenty of room for 2. I did share with a guy on crutches, the poor guy has basically been in PT/OT for the last year - first for a shoulder, then his leg. They did a good job of staggering us so there wasn't a ton of contact with anyone not staff.

Thank you busymom - Due to Dad not taking K off the title of the house after she passed 5 years ago I can't legally put the house up for sale until I get the approval from the court. I am basically becoming her PR and having to do both estates at once. I felt like crying last night when I got the news. The house was supposed to go live today. We are still hoping to have permission by the end of the month to get it on the market.

Ouch! I feel your pain. My Mom's own estate got slightly complicated by something she forgot to do, & I had to spend a lot of effort to straighten things out, with a lawyer of course.
Which reminds me, I need to get my own ducks in a row, so someday DD doesn't have a big mess to deal with.

I'm so sorry about the estate issues.
Hard as it was for my parents to do, I am glad they decided it was time to move from the house and to move here in to an independent living apartment. They sold the house and gave the car to their oldest grandson.
All we had to deal with was household goods (which are still at my sister's house) and the cash in the bank. Life insurance was easy once we had death certificate. IRA was easy as we were named beneficiaries.
The last 1/3 of the money (the actual estate money) is to be paid out as soon as a judge signs off. The last day to file to contest that (not the will, just the distribution) was August 7. It's just time now.

Dear New HR Manager
I thought I was disorganized.
You make more work for yourself by not being organized.
Still debating if I should talk to our mutual boss about how late I received information.

I had to talk to my boss about a coworker this week. I felt like an ass doing it, but she was so unorganized she was creating more work for all of us and opening us up to a lot of risk. Just on one account I found $400K worth of trucks that were rolling around uninsured. I told my boss that I didn't want to cause any trouble, but I couldn't let it go. Coworker hasn't said anything to me about it at all,but my boss is not one to let things go unaddressed.

She told another co-worker that I can't be trusted because I throw people under the bus. Umm. .no. The issue was every single thing you worked on was incorrect. It wasn't just me that noticed is was our BOSS who was working right next to me who also noticed. She absolutely was not at the level she should have been given how long she'd been at the job. I don't throw people under the bus but neither am I going to spend time correcting the work of someone who should at the stage she was at know better. Everyone makes mistakes but by that point it was clear she was NOT getting the job she was doing her own thing out in left field. She was a nice enough person but I am not going to lie I am kinda relieved she left. While there is always drama back here she fed on it and fueled it. It was also starting to create resentment on my part and another co-workers because we were having to shoulder a lot more than we should have on top of her other duties while she complained, in particular about me, that I wasn't pulling my weight on the bench. Sometimes you have to say something and you shouldn't feel like an ass. Her mistakes were starting to affect MY work and costing me time I needed to things only I can do. So no I was not going to keep my mouth shut out of some sense of co-worker loyalty. I don't consider telling your boss about mistakes that cost time, money or are a safety/legal risk as being a tattle tale or an ass. If you are here you should be able to do your job as required.

Yeah, I know. I just hate doing it. And it isn't the first time this has happened, I just didn't make a big deal out of it the first time because my boss was aware. Coworker left for a few days and right after leaving my boss looked at her inbox (we work a shared inbox and document everything there as well as in access) and found 42 unworked items. She is assigned a task that has a 1 business day turnaround time. It took coworker and I days to sort out weeks of requests that were backlogged. I had trained her and she was not doing what I showed her. I retrained and expressed that no matter what I am willing to drop everything I'm doing to help her and don't feel like she's bothering me ever. She took last Friday and this Monday off. It was the same thing as last time. This time I sent a long email to my manager and attached a bunch of examples where she just hadn't done things or hadn't followed up to make sure that they were processed. It was a huge mess. These trucks are $100K+ each. If there is a loss and it's not covered, we're screwed.

I'm probably not going to say anything, it's been realized that I was missed on a bunch of emails. But last week was a shitshow, for a number of reasons.

Dear Towing Company - Thank you fro being really responsive on being able to come out and jump the problem child car. You were at the house in less than 15 minutes and really helped me out. You were also affordable with the jump being under $50. Thank you for that. Problem Child Vehicle -- You were beyond annoying in that you had to be started and driven about every 2 weeks. You were too big and didn't fit my body well but I did enjoy your heated and air conditioned seats so thank you for that. Please enjoy your new owners when you get them. I am sure they will appreciate you much better than I ever did.

Dear Joy Villa, no Pro Life, i.e. anti-abortion is not Pro Woman. There are dead women and girls in this country and allover the world that make me want to punch you out for even putting that lie on your dress. If you are a young girl or a health compromised woman being forced to bear a fetus to term can cause lifetime health problems for you if even your baby escapes that fate.

andi9899 NomoreDramaQ1015@wibeth Thanks for your comments. I have not said anything yet. I know she is overwhelmed and covid is adding to her work load. I think I am going to wait and see how the next few days go. Was really upset because she did not finish processing one of the departments information.I ended up paying someone I should not have paid. This employee is reasonable and I already contacted him and am working on taking the funds back. I was just glad I found the error today and not two months form now.

Dear friend, Congratulations on using an inheritance to pay off all your debts. Then you applied for a new car loan. You couldn't be debt-free for a few days before doing that? You just cannot get some people to buy their way out of stupid, can you? Molly, is your friend expecting another inheritance, maybe?

Dear niece, I had my doubts about you. Until today. You decided to dedicate your birthday to raising money for the Equal Justice Initiative, a 501(c)3 nonprofit at eji.org/I am proud of you. This organization is dedicated to raising awareness of mass incarcerations, the jailing of children, racial and economic injustice and the rise of cost of recent riots and protests to all of us. OK, I know you did it to really piss off your Trump-loving mother. It's fine. I don't like her, either.

Good for your niece. I am quite surprised by her. She has always been very selfish and self-centered, so this is an unusual turn for her. Shows that there might be some hope after all.

Dear bike rider.
Please stay in the bike lane when riding. When you want to make a left turn look to see if any cars are coming before making the lane change. Better still, cross at a pedestrian crossing. You would save a lot of panic braking and possibly save you from getting hurt.
Dear pedestrian.
Please use the sideWALK for your morning walk instead of the bike lane. You would save bike riders from having to go into the car traffic lane to go around you. And please don't call me stupid because I don't want to get hit by a car.

Dear BIL,
Only you could get lost and wind up in another country. (Looking for a hotel in boonies Maine; wound up in Canada and pulled over by local authorities, who ran some checks on him and then steered him back to USA.)

Dearest Dear Husband:
Please ask the NEW doctor to check your hearing.
You are 68 years old
Both of your brothers wear hearing aids
Wouldn't it make life easier for you?
Signed,
Your wife who is tired of repeating things
