TheOtherMe Wait. What? Does that mean they're out loading up the car before you can get there? And after you tested negative? Boo. Hiss.

After so long I needed to get my hair cut. I should have kept with my usual bob. But NO. Instead I asked for an A frame. This hair dresser is usually great. I notice one side of my hair was about 1/2 inch longer when I pulled the front up. This evening I snipped that off. I combed the back and there were 2 more places that were too long. I asked H. if it looked okay. He said I have a cowlick that is pushing my hair to the side in the back. Certainly not the nice layering she had done a couple of years ago. Silly me. I tipped the server that charged us for dinner portion rather than the lunch portion and said we didn't get salads when them menu said salad included. We did get the tickets switched. Then, I left my left overs sitting on the table after my friend told me to take them. I told H. about it and he said the manager might be in on the overcharging ruse as a lot of people wouldn't notice. I didn't until my friends brought my attention to it.

That does not end until Thursday. I am going and we are going to do a socially distant meet and greet for great aunt and baby.

Dear baby brother and dear friend, Y'all are both going out of town on wonderful trips. Good to know you are driving and staying in safe spaces. But be careful and sane out there. You're going to a "hot spot" state. Heck, one of you is leaving one hot spot state for another. But I understand the need to get out and go places. You cannot live in fear.
Love you both and want you back healthy.

Dear pizza joint,
When I went in to pay today, I saw a sign that you were adding 3% for using credit cards, effective 4/1/2020. However, on 4/1/2020, and until just recently, customers could not enter your location. It was curbside or delivery only, and people were highly encouraged to pay by phone or online when ordering. I don't know about online, but I was never advised of the surcharge when I ordered by phone. I had noticed that prices were a bit higher, but that happens from time to time. Not very transparent of you.

I have a business that provides a service, and I hope the client gives me a gratuity. I accept credit and debit cards. I process thru square. I live in Illinois and I can charge a surcharge if somebody pays with plastic the surcharge would be to cover the process fees. But the rule is you have to let the customer know and make it a separate line item. The problem that I have is if I tried to do that to the general public they most likely would take it of out of the gratuity. The business should just accept that cost as a cost of doing business.

I'm good with doing it that way. At least you let them know ahead of time. If I know that, I am not going to punish a business by taking it from the gratuity. Rather, I would reward their honesty. In mollyanna's case, it sounds like the business just tacked it on without letting people know.
We all understand there is a cost to doing business, and we know it's going up. It's fine as long as you don't surprise anyone.

It was a live video that my H. watched online. It was very long. He said he'd see if he could find it but he's watching something right now.

Oh, and only in Flori-duh.... Our county did open four shelters, to be used by those living in Zone A evacuation areas (substandard and mobile home housing) and (I kid you not):
Animals only shelter - West Boynton Recreation Center: 6000 Northtree Blvd., Lake Worth
The idiots meant a pet-friendly shelter, of course..."animals-only" sounds like you have to leave Fluffy and Fido there and go find your own damned shelter somewhere else .

Stupid uncommunicative previous lawyer. I really hope you get what you send out (or don't). Thankfully I found someone who does communicate and I will be moving forward with them. To the neighbor across the street of my dad's place. No you are not getting any "deals". I look things up regarding pricing and for sure you are not going to waltz in and think you are getting a deal on a car. It's basically new and after seeing the dealer sticker and knowing how much the MSRP is there is no way you were going to end up paying less than what KBB /dealership would pay. You are an acquaintance not someone I know personally. Besides my Dad let me know that you were ever so "helpful" in the past. I am not in need of your help thank you very much. I really liked how you got snippy with me because I took the registration out of the car. Snap~

snapdragon hold your ground on Dad's neighbor. We dealt with a neighbor like that when taking care of my great-uncles estate. We even found some notes on some of the antiques, not in uncles handwriting, saying that such and such article was to go the neighbor. We think they slipped the notes on there when they were visiting. Uncle also had left a very detailed household inventory. It showed items crossed off with a note as to where the item had gone etc. There were some things missing from the inventory, with no note, we think the neighbors helped themselves.

Dear John, It's not fair that you went into the hospital with COVID-19, with no family at your side, yet optimistic about getting out. You were doing well enough that a respirator was not even part of your treatment. But this virus isn't fair. Or picky about who it takes. On Monday, it took you in 30 seconds. Respiratory and cardiac arrest and it was over that fast. You had a wife, kids, grandkids, and a thing for collecting guns. I do wonder what the neighbors at your condo must have thought if any of them saw you toting your latest toy into your humble little abode. But I am sure your incredible wit, personality and humor more than made up for any lingering doubts they might have had about your weaponry. We're all angry about this. Joe is especially devastated. He said you two were supposed to be getting together this weekend. I cried when he told me that. You were amazing to work with. You're not a statistic to us. You're a human being who deserved more time.

Thanks y'all. His health was compromised, so that no doubt played a role. And he was in his seventies. Also a factor. But this is when it stops being other people's pandemic and gets real, yanno?

I'm so sorry NancysSummerSip. The virus is very cruel, and the fact that our government isn't taking it seriously is even more disturbing.

And speaking of the virus.... Dear Grocery Store Covidiot, No, the six foot distance is not always dependent on the green line. It's dependent on the actual space between people. So if the old guy in front of me has not yet moved up to the register, for whatever reason (like the person in front of him needs an extra 10 seconds to get it together), it is not my place to invade his space. Nor is it yours to verbally shove people into moving up to do so. The line on the floor shows where six feet is between one line and the next, not one one line and the next human.
Until today, I never lost my temper in a retail environment. I turned around and assured you (in a controlled but annoyed tone) of my ability to both read and see. Fortunately, you moved to another register before I pointed out what a good idea that would be. It's easy to really hate on stupid people now. Thank goodness for the good people I have in my life at the moment.
