Dear new guy, I don't care if you like this job. It's called WORK for a reason. If you don't want to do it get out of the way and someone else can take your place.

Dear volunteers~ I think it's great that you want to volunteer. But if I call you and leave a message saying "we are doing this fundraiser on this day" and you are not able to make it, please call me back and say you can't make it. I don't care if you give an excuse or not. Seriously. But it makes me look bad in front of the other girls if after I tell them that "I called my volunteers" and then none of them show.

Dear Bagboy/baggirl, I'm pretty sure the bags were designed to hold more than one object each. I'll state the opposite: Dear bagboy/baggirl, Just because my reusable bags are larger and sturdier than the plastic bags does not mean you should put 15 cans, two 2-liter soda bottles and 3# of bananas in one bag! Peeved Also, please don't look at me like I have two heads when I ask you to lay my cranberry juice bottle in the bag on their side. They are going to fall over anyway, and it is awkward to have it happen when carrying the bags back to my car.

Dear Male Client, I know I am female, I know I work in a male dominant industry, but I do the same work the guys do. Stop assuming I am the secretary/receptionist...DAMMIT! Signed, I am just as good as they are...probably better!

Dear Random Person,
I said I was hearing impaired, I did not say I was stupid, you don't have to talk to me like I am three years old!

Dear coworker,
The boss asked me to take care of it. I can and I will. Don't hover, whine or constantly ask about it. I am not a child who needs babysitting. I cannot help that you are annoyed at not being asked to do it. Bugger off.

Dear boss,
Just because I'm slacking on one project (and so are you), doesn't mean I don't do anything else. Please stop assuming I'm a complete slacker. I'm only a partial slacker, tyvm. I don't copy you on every email I send because I know you have too much email already. Apparently you feel the need to monitor everything I do, so I'll start copying you on everything again.
FYI, I only look like I'm slacking because I don't have enough to fill my time. If you would delegate some of your work to me, we'd all be happier. I wouldn't be so bored at times, and you wouldn't be quite so crabby, which makes everyone else crabby too. Which is what I've been telling you for 2 years.
(Surprisingly, I do like my boss, for the most part.)

Dear boss (part 2),
After 2+ years of me saying I can't find anyone to support me on a certain system, don't you think you should step up find me someone to support me? Isn't that kind of your job as my manager?

A coworker adopted a 1 yr old last fall. When she first got the kid she felt so bad bc the kid never moved while she was changing its diaper, clothes, etc. She wanted her to smile, laugh anything. She knew it was a trust thing and that'd it take time but it was still hard. Now the only way she can get the kid to lay still long enough for a diaper change is to put her on the cold floor. Mommy doesn't change clothes or diapers fast enough for her.

Dear Nurse at the Dr's Office,
I understand that there are a bunch of sick kids right now. However, when I call and leave a message saying that my daughter has a clogged tear duct I'd appreciate a call back. Just tell me that we need to come in or get the dr to call in a prescription. I know that it may not be a priority for you, however my daughter is uncomfortable and I don't want to be "that mom" who is annoying.
MK? Thankyouverymuch! Annoyed Mom

Rose just try a warm wash cloth. DD's had blocked tear ducts several times and they've never given us anything, just told us to use a warm wash cloth to wipe her eye and the warmth will cause the duct to soften and dialate.

Thanks DQ! I'll try that. I know with DS they gave a prescription for some ointment stuff, so I didn't know about the warm washcloth.

At the very least it will ease discomfort.
Making sure her nose stays drained if she has a cold helps too because the pressure from her sinuses puts pressure on the tear ducts and baby's eyes aren't as good at clearing themselves as ours are so they get blocked.

Dear Insurance Company, Thanks for putting epipens in nonpreferred brand drug category and putting quantity limits on them. I sure as hell don't want to have allergies so bad my doctor thinks I need one and there's no generic equivalent for it so thanks for making me pay more when I have no other option. And god forbid I might need them bc then I'll hit the quantity limits.

HeY Gimme A Shout, A guy got shot by a tazer by police and I pulled 1 of the 2 tazers out. He had abdominal pain last week and when I got the CT to localize the tazers, the incidental CT finding was a perforated colon with abscess[which was unrelated to getting tazered]!!!

Dear Rose, The irony of the tazer guy was that he had a life threatening situation that presented in an unusual way. In NO WAY did I imply he died. His vital signs were excellent and he was admitted to the hospital and the surgeon has probably already seen him and given his recommendations.

Oh, I thought I had heard that you were in the morgue... Hence my assumption that he had died. I hope he makes a full recovery now that he knows he has a condition.

Dear Rose, Always consider the source of what you hear. What you heard was a malicious untruth. My specialty and my personal life is about life and about living one's fullest potential. He should make a full recovery as he was a strong and otherwise healthy guy.

Dear Precious, Precious Daughter,
Just so we're clear, my nipples are not teething chew toys. Please refrain from biting down and pulling them through your gums - then smiling like you've got a new trick you're proud of. I'm sure that it feels good to you, but it hurts me. If you continue with this action the boobies are going buh-bye.
Love Always, Maaa - Maaa (if you would just say it I would probably forgive you a little!)

Dear MIL and SIL~ I love you dearly, but I am concerned that you need to have an emergency fund. You can't have a yard sale, sell all your stuff, buy new stuff (patio furniture? really?), and then call DH and I a few weeks later when your hooptie washer and dryer breaks down. Know who would love new patio furniture? This girl. Know who went a year and a half using a microwave cart as an entertainment center, because she was alternately saving money and sending it to you? This girl. Also, SIL, 1 month after Christmas is too late to ask to go in 'halvsies' on the Christmas gift for MIL. DH and I had already sent a lovely gift. Maybe you shouldn't have spent money you couldn't afford. And how 'bout that money we loaned you to buy a car last year? Additionaly, it's time for you to budget. It's getting old hearing about the great time you had out on the town, then 4 days later about how you can't find money to pay the bills. We send you money every month. Where's it going to?
I really do love you!

You should come over to WIR RoseGarden, the pregnancy thread has tons of new and seasoned mommies on it.
What they recommended to me is when baby bites to pull her off say "no" and sit her down for a few minutes. She'll fuss but if you keep repeating it eventually she will get that biting equals no booby and stop.

Home 6, I think you might have answered your own question, but an addendum to this:
Dear MIL/SIL,
The Bank of SADIL (son and daughter-in-law) is closed. No more money. You will have to find your own means of paying for what you need, since it's obvious that you can pay for what you want. We have our own lives, bills and future to consider, along with any current or future offspring we may produce. We love you, but our love does not extend to monthly subsidies.

Not on the pregnancy thread. I've been on there since September 2009 when I went off the pill.
I'm glad I have been because in RL I am kinda stuck in a weird position where everyoen DH's age is LONG done having kids and a lot of their advice is outdated and people my age are still in school, single, dating, or just got married/engaged.
So it's been nice to have a resource to talk to other moms and not have to call the pediatrician's office 40 times a day.

Aw, thanks...I wondered where it came from.
Seriously, I love the fact that you love them. But you can love them right into the poorhouse yourselves. If they can work, they need to. If they need more money, they need to earn more and spend less. You live by good example, and clearly, they are not willing or able to follow it. Let them go.
And since this is your DH's family,
Dear Darling Hubby,
Your mom and sis mean a lot to me. They thought I was good enough to join the family and marry you. But honey, the ride is over for them. They've taken advantage long enough. This is our future we are jeopardizing. If they cannot stand on their own two feet, it won't make things better if they are leaning on us. It just makes both ships sink faster. Let's agree to a calm sit-down with them, in a neutral place, and put it to them kindly but firmly.
Love,
Your Wife.
