Milee, I am having one of those days too. I got my hair cut...with bangs. The woman f'ed up my bangs and then I tried to fix them....and then I f'ed them up even more... had to put the scissors down and walk away because I didn't have much left for bangs. So...I opened a bottle of wine and said "someday they will grow back, until then I can wear a hat or pull them back in a barrett...or I can buy a wig." I still care about what happened in Boston. But it is ok for me to cry about my bangs over a glass of wine too. I don't think that we are horrible people for having a bad day. I think you should post a picture of your bangs to cheer everybody up. ![](http://images.proboards.com/new/grin.png) When I have a suck ass day I carry on like a 5 year old and ask "Why me?!" with lots and lots of whining, cussing and bitching. Then I get over it and crack up at what an ass I was. Sometimes DH will mock me (when he is feeling brave) and that has us both in stomach aching, tears rolling down our face laughing until we can't breathe. Hey, I know I'm immature but it works for me.

LMAO!!! I've never had lice or kids with lice so I'll just remember the hives I've had and leave it at that.

This thread is reminding me of the recent Jon Stewart bit about genital crabs. It appears they are about to become extinct because their natural habitat (hairy crotches) are being destroyed by the Brazilian wax craze. They were going around in bars asking women to stop waxing so the crabs could flourish once again. ![](http://syonidv.hodginsmedia.com/vsmileys/rofl.gif)

That's my method, too. Positive thinking doesn't do much for me, I have to just wallow for a while and then get over it.

Oooh, no! Sorry to hear about the bangs, imanangel! I like the way bangs look (most of the time), but I don't want them full time. Would it be possible for you to add clip-on bangs until yours grow out? I think I'd try those but I wouldn't want to actually cut my hair. Hope your hair grows fast!

Wine. Just lots and lots of wine.
Unless you're too poor to buy wine... then you're really screwed.

I just got back from the dentist - still totally sober for the record - and it looks like quite a few posts were deleted when I was gone.
If you're sober post-dentist, then clearly your dentist is not a very nice person. You should be flying right now. And [could] everyone [please] STOP TALKING ABOUT LICE IT IS CREEPING ME OUT!!! ![](http://images.proboards.com/new/smiley.png) Bed bugs? How about bed bugs? How about NO bugs and NO gruesome diseases kthxbai ![](http://images.proboards.com/new/smiley.png) We can instead be grateful we don't have... I don't know... sunburn or something.

No, Firebird, it wasn't directed at you. It was responding to a post that has been deleted. I just got back from the dentist - still totally sober for the record - and it looks like quite a few posts were deleted when I was gone. But life is still good. I had an uneventful dentist visit (with how this morning went, I was pretty sure she'd discover I had some rare form of tongue cancer) and I still do not have lice. That I know of, anyway. I wouldn't celebrate just yet. You don't know who rested their itchy head on that dentist chair just before you. For all you know, something dreadful had crawled up their culottes! Tomorrow you could post an informative update that may have me saying "I don't have lice and it doesn't burn when I pee, so I'm just glad I'm not milee!" (Instead of "at least I'm not as freaking cranky as Thyme", which is what I'm saying to make myself feel better now)

Wine. Just lots and lots of wine. Unless you're too poor to buy wine... then you're really screwed. I drank Boones Farm in college. For a $1.50 I was set for the night. Not sure how much it goes for today...

When this were crap for a stretch, I posted a sign at my desk at work, for my eyes only, that said DEAL WITH IT.

When things are crap, the only thing to do is try to get through it. It's OK to admit it when things suck-it doesn't matter that they might be worse for other people-it's OK to acknowledge that they suck for you-and move on.

It wasn't exactly a mood booster, but it got me through the day.

Today I am going to ROCK my bangs while lunching with my FauxPom. I am not even going to feel bad about them because this morning I was able to put on my jeans AND zip them up without having to wear spanx or lay down on the bed! ![](http://images.proboards.com/new/smiley.png)

When things are going poorly at work, I look around for the Page Two crew. Our cleaning crew is mostly refugees from countries listed on page two of US passports.
Instant perspective.

I have found a great colorist and he can cut hair well but his bangs are crap. So now I have great hair cut and great color but bangs that look like I did them myself. ![](http://images.proboards.com/new/sad.png)

When my job sucks, I think about being a private in the Army and standing for hours in a half-flooded foxhole.
When I think about the horrible things in Boston, I remind myself of the thousands of good-hearted people who pulled together to help the victims and stop only two evil idiots.
