MM easter candy at CVS next week, but you'll need CRTs from this week (and you'll need to like Whoppers). Buy 8 bags Whoppers @ $2 each: 16.00 -2 x $2/3 MC 2/24 SS -4 x $3/2 CRT =FREE, get back $5 EB for spending $15 Or buy 9 bags, use an additional $2/3 MC, and get another bag for free. I don't much like Whoppers, but for $5 MM I'm sure I can bring them to work for our "food day" next week

Kohls: I have some questions for those of you who frequently shop at Kohls. What is the best deal I can do with these coupons? I have a 30% off, $10.00 off intimates, $10 off men's wardrobe, $10.00 off a $30.00 IPQ and a $25.00 giftcard. What order would I hand in the coupons and do I have to buy everything in one transaction to get Kohls cash?

The 30% coupon expired today and they aren't currently doing Kohls cash, or is your question just "in general"? You have to have $50 AFTER coupons to earn Kohls cash and it does not track, although they have told me you can bring your receipts in and they will add them. I've never done it though.

I know I will have to have my eyes checked because I thought the expiration was the 15th. My other coupons are still good though.

I was there today doing a return and a lady coming out of the store handed me her coupon and said today was the last day it was good. So, I was just going on that... They are also giving 30% off, I think thru the end of the month, if you open a new Kohls charge. You may already have one though...

I am reviewing my notes made from all the grocery ads for my area chains, independents and fruit/veg markets. That is 9 stores and the total circuit is about 17 miles. That dooes NOT include the drug stores. Each store only has 1-2 items I want or need. I am NOT shopping that many stores. going to have to prioritize.

Yesterday I had a long list of grocery items to pick up and I was able to get several of the things I needed at other stores before I went into Safeway which I made my last stop. I hit pay dirt at the Grocery Outlet: They had 9 oz. packages of Hillshire Farm deli sliced turkey for $1.49. The last-date-of-sale isn't until 3/25 and we all know that they will be good beyond that. I suspect that they have a boatload of them and that is why they marked them down early. The same package in Safeway was $5.49!! I bought (6) packages. I also found a 1 1/2 lb. package of Sargento thinly sliced deli cheeses (8 oz. of each cheddar, Swiss, and Provolone) for $4.99 and the date on the package is 4/2. I had planned to buy Lucerne slices for $2.50 ea. at Safeway. I forgot to check the weight of the package when I was in there, but I doubt they were more than 8 oz. ea. They had 8-pks. of Bar-S polish sausage (bun length) for $.99. They expired yesterday, so I bought (4) and put them right in the freezer for use this summer. AND, AND, AND I got a 5% additional discount cuz it was Wednesday and I'm old. I also did well at the 99 Cent store: A four pk of Persian cucumbers A head of celery A half-dozen bell peppers (all green except for one red) - they were all bagged together for $1. I plan to use a couple for salads or omelets and make stuffed peppers with the rest. (6) 8 oz. packages of 1/3 Less Fat Philly (need for clam dips this summer) (3) 4-pks of bagels (1 everything/2 onion) A six pack of English muffins A bunch of (8) medium sized bananas These stores are 3/4 of the way across town but they are right across the street from one another. I'll probably be visiting them at least every other week for deli items, produce, and some bread items. Unfortunately, neither accepts coupons. I stopped at Mi Pueblo to get a 10# bag of russets for $.98 and at Smart & Final to get a cantaloupe for $.39/lb. I did not have to go even a block out of my way to go to either; they were both en route. ETA: I found the Lucerne cheese in the Safeway ad and they were 12 oz. packages, so that tells me that the regular price at the Grocery Outlet might be equal to a Safeway sales price.

My DD's HS is farther away than that. I don't know what HS is. If it is her go-to grocery store, then she has no choice. I guess I'm fortunate because I do have a choice. For the past year, I have weighed the cost of gas in my decisions about whether to "drive for a deal" or to just stay home. A lot of times, I opted to just stay home.

Wow, I just got a 5/30 coupon in my email from cvs. Haven't seen those in awhile. I'll wait til the weekend to print it so I can extend it into next week. Probably won't even use it, since I'm down to $5 EB's on one card. It would've come in handy this week. I spent over $30 there before coupons between the Coke deal, Suave deal and Zyrtec. Figures...I swear they know...LOL

My DD's HS is farther away than that. Well, if we're going to eat, I have to drive at least 5 miles to get to a grocery store. There's a Safeway 5 miles away in each direction so at least I have a choice! Target is in the next town and is about 8 miles away. When going there, I try to combine my trip by going to Grocery Outlet, the 99cent store, CVS etc. I, too, have a circuit! Don't know if any of you have a Harbor Freight store near you. I noted in their Sunday insert that they had blue tarps on sale (with coupon) for $2.97. These are regularly priced at $6.99. Ours that cover the patio furniture are looking a little raggedy so I bought three and will use my raggedy ones for some outdoor painting projects this spring.

This is off the grocery topic, but Dancin mentioned she and her DH may be looking at senior living communities at some point. I spoke with the gal I know that "sells" at one of those places and asked about pricing. It apparently depends on the size of the unit and how many people (single or married). To buy in, it's $160,000 and up. I imagine the $160,000 is for one person. She said essentially, the buy in is for the long term care. In addition, there is a monthly "fee" for the meals, facilities, etc. which can range from $2,400 to $4,800 a month. And those fees can be raised.
This particular facility is in Fairfield, CA (Paradise Valley area). I would guess they might be less expensive in other states, maybe??

Figures...I swear they know...LOL I think you're right!! I did pop into CVS yesterday to roll last week's jelly bean EBs into this weeks. I didn't spend the new EB right away as I had planned cuz I had so many other stops to make, so I have a WHOPPING $.99 EB in my purse. I'll probably just get a $.99 bag of CVS candy. constanz, you're probably like me - you've built your stockpiles to points where you never dreamed they'd be. I know that you've sold some HBA along the way, but for one person I would suspect that you held back enough so you'd still have a decent stockpile of the products you use regularly. Do all $/$$ seem to be coming through email these days instead of at the bottom of a receipt? If and when I do decide to start shopping there in the future, I was thinking of using an old card that is not registered so it does not have an email attached.

This particular facility is in Fairfield, CA (Paradise Valley area). I would guess they might be less expensive in other states, maybe?? Yep, that's pretty much how it works. From what I've heard, the buy in amount also depends on whether you plan to leave some of the value to your heirs in your estate or not and what kind of place you buy - apartment, duplex, SFH, etc . There is a minimum number of meals that you have to purchase to be eaten in the dining room or picked up and taken home to eat. I think the fee also includes housekeeping and grounds maintenance, but I can't say for 100% sure. Actually $160K seems inexpensive to me, but I guess I'd have to look at the facility. Since the cost is also tied to property values, I assume the cost would be lower in other states. We will be checking places out on our road trips and hopefully selecting one over the next few years. Most places will not take you if you're already "unhealthy" so we want to make sure to make the move before anything like that happens.

Kohls: I was able to use my $10.00 off $30.00 coupon and they also gave me 20% off the remainder so a savings of $15.64 after using my giftcard.
Walmart: I bought 1 carton of whipping cream and 2 Almay eye makeup removers. I paid with a $5.00/2 IPQ and got $.39 back.
Meijer: I got 2 boxes of Ritz crackers and 1 Chips Ahoy cookies for $.67 each. Promotion was buy 6 @$2.50 save $6.00 instantly. I used two buy 2 get one free cookies IPQs. My sister and I split this deal, paying $2.00 each.
Staples: Scott towels 6 pks. were on sale for $4.99. I used a $4.00 reward and a $.50 MQ and paid $.56 OOP. I'm unhappy that they're changing their rewards program starting tomorrow. You only get a $2.00 reward for ink returns if you have spent $30.00 on ink or toner in the past 180 days. They never seem to have my ink and I even made the cashier walk over so I could prove it. She said that people were spending their rewards on other stuff in the store. I told her that was what I liked about their rewards program in the first place. I guess if I still want to do it, I'll have to have them order my ink. They said that they will price match other stores' prices on ink.

Hi all! I don't know how many people here shop at Acme but they have a great sale, IMO , starting today. They have some 4 day sale items including Hellmans Mayo for 1.99 a 30 oz jar, and Fresh Express bagged salad blends for 0.99 cents. With the coupon from this past Sun's 3/10 SS for 0.55/1 they are FREE. There are also some coupons for Yoplait that could make the greek yogurt and simplait free also. I didn't have those exact coupons but it still made for some of the best prices I have seen in a while. The other sale part that I LOVE is they brought back their buck a bag veggie sale. some of the products are a little smaller than the reg but at the price it still makes for some of best prices for fresh veggies I see all year practically. I hope it helps someone.

HOUND ALERT There is $1/1 Folgers scheduled in this week's RP. I need 5 of them if they are good on the smaller canister for a deal at my local grocery chain next week. I am getting ridiculously low on coffee and this is a pretty good deal with $1/1 Q's. TIA!

Well, I struck out on Zyrtec coupons here. The only ones I found at Wags and CVS are $4/1 40ct. or larger. If ANYONE finds the $3/1 any, I'd love some. I saw on iheartcvs that stores with a Minute Clinic have them in an allergy book and there are pics of the coupons. We don't have any here though. Decent MM on Banana Boat Sunscreen at RA this week. It is BOGO and gives a $5 Up, monthly deal, limit 4. There were tons of $2/1 hang tags, a few $3/1 hang tags I had from Wags, and I also had $3/1 peelies from some of those Schick bonus packs last year. So, the 9.99 Banana Boat are a good MM. You'll spend 9.99, minus any coupons you have, and get 2 $5 Ups back. They do only allow 1 coupon on a BOGO now, but still a good deal. Is this right? Mine was Buy $20 get $5, not get $5 for each. Also--no peelies. I didn't buy any, but boy it was nice lotion! Not greasy at all and very subtle scent.

Yeah, I posted the other day that I got the 5/30, AFTER I was there Mondy and spent well over $30 between the Coke deal, Zyrtec and Suave deal. If you are planning on doing the Suave deal, the BOGO Moracan Infusion Q auto deducts at $5. I only had 1 but I had a bunch of $2 peelies from when it first came out (not sure you can still find any), but made them a MM for me. Using the 5/30 would've been great, but I don't see any hopes of spending that much next week. I hate it when they do that!

Anyone find any good prices on corned beef? I think a few years ago it was about 59 c/lb. Today the best I can find is $1.47. Is that because the price of cow is up in general? Wait, is corned beef from cow? (You can see I'm not a big meat eater.)
