If swimming thru pollen is an indicator then spring has sprung. Actually we pretty much skipped winter altogether (sorry folks who are still freezing, iced over and all that jazz)
Do you have a favorite season of the year or pretty much like them all?

(Side note to the current weather comments: Yes, it's been "moody" here, too. In fact, I just messaged a friend saying in the past hour I've watched it hail, rain, then IDK WTF. All this during a bone chilling wind with blue sky peeking out yonder.) I love fall. It's a reprieve from the dry, blazing inferno that is called summer around here. Do you own, and utilize, an umbrella?

Given that I live in a city that averages 65 inches of rain annually, yes I own an umbrella. Two in fact one in home one in car. Now do I utilize them?? I admit rarely now that retired. Raining - I just stay in till it lets up.
If you traded cars today would you get a convertible?

if I traded cars today, it would be for a Jeep. so, yes. as far as umbrellas, I happen to own three. one collapsible that's in my car somewhere, that probably doesn't even fully open anymore. another was part of the "new hire swag" in January when I started my job, and the last is a huge golf umbrella that's actually still on my desk, that was a periodic random gift from the company. uh, okay. I have yet to use either of the new job umbrellas. are you following the playoff leadups for either hockey or basketball? how's your team doing?

Not watching sports at all. Boring, boring, boring.
How old are you? Are you in good health? Is it due to heredity or an effort on your part?

I'm 76 and in good health so far. My son says I'm healthy since I don't go to doctor to tell me how unhealthy I am. I have no family history to draw on basically so I'm going to take credit Are you a glass half full, half empty or get me another glass kinda person?

Where the hell did I put the glass?! It really depends on the situation. For some things, I'm absolutely glass half full (my ability to figure out how to make the best of crappy situations, my expectations for travel, financial well-being, life prospects). Other times I'm definitely half empty (faith in other people, expectations for work--I was told within 20 minutes of my first day 18+ years ago that I was "too logical for this place, and it's going to make you crazy", etc). And, when I'm traveling, always get me another glass! (I have been lost in every big city I've ever been in, I've hit snags, I've made stupid little mistakes, I've made some fairly big mistakes, but it's all and adventure. Even if it's pouring rain outside, I'll be wandering around for hours, because it's a vacation and I'm not at work or home!) I'm not a peppy/bubbly/positive person, but I try not to be a negative person either. I own an umbrella, but I think I've only ever used one a handful of times. I'm still mad I missed on my "dream car"... a 1979 Beetle convertible, powder blue. If I had a garage to park one in, I'd get one I don't watch sports either. 40, ok health, one side of my family has lived into their 90s for centuries, the other family lives pretty old too, but with less health. The last few years have not been good for mine, but I'm working on getting it all back. Ever feel like life is someone's creative writing "Choose Your Own Adventure" book?

Are they choosing an adventure for me? If that's the case, then I know who my author is. If I'm writing the book on myself, I'm doing an awful job. My adventures are almost nonexistent.

None! Because then I have to clean up after it. Ok, I'll get some a few times a year and enjoy them. But don't make it a habit. I swear, if the dog didn't nag me, I'd forget to feed him.
If you got a do- over, would you have kids or so at less?

I only have one. Slipped up a second time but miscarried. That got my attention that I really didn't want another one. Love my kiddo and he is my heart but wasn't cut out for more than one.
In that vain if you had a do over would you have gotten married to current spouse? Or be with SO or whatever "they" are now.

Yes, he's a keeper. Sometimes I wish I would have met him a few years prior, but I think I married the first one, although for a brief period of time, so I'd recognize what a good marriage is vs. a really horrible one. I wish some people would realize relationships just really shouldn't be that difficult. Any summer travel plans?

I have to preface this with a short story!! I grew up next door to a huge cemetery and part of the cemetery was really really old! So if coming across a grave that had practically caved in and as kids we decided to see if we could slid the tombstone away and we actually saw a skeleton - does that count? I was around 8 I think. The coffin had to be wooden!
Any big plans for Halloween? Calling Iggy aka IG and anyone else who goes bump in the night
ETA: Oops just saw post where Iggy has already had her party!! Any one else?

I'm taking a basic (101) drawing class and it meets on Thursday evenings. DH usually goes with me but this week a Hallowe'en carnival will be next street over. No kids in the neighborhood but we'll leave a bowl at the end of driveway 'just in case'.
Are the leaves turning colors in your area? ....... I really miss the beauty of autumn in the northern tier states.

Yea, we're back! The leaves are definitely changing here. I took my mom "to the big city" last Friday, before rain and hail had a chance to knock a lot of leaves (and branches, and trees) down, and it was gorgeous. No Halloween plans... I was going to buy some candy for the first time in a few years, but realized I have to work. Not many kids in our area anyway. I never got to do any summer travel after my trip in the spring. Ended up getting hit with too many other big expenses, so travel is on the back burner for a bit Have you dipped below freezing so far this fall? We're expecting around 18 degrees tonight. I had to turn my heat on much earlier than I normally would.

We turned our heater on but we are still quite as ways above freezing. Last couple of mornings have been in the low 50s, but that is cold for us desert dwellers. DH, who was born and raised in Indiana, complains about the cold here. Of course he is 81 and his bones have become acclimatized to desert. Humidity has been in the teens and lower ................ brrrrrrr
How many trick-or-treaters did you get last night? We don't have any kids in our neighborhood but the town puts on a huge party ..... fun

5 children and 3 moms, traveling in a group through our rural neighborhood. I gave the children goodie bags of candy and trinkets, and the moms got adult beverages. Well, 2 of them did, the 3rd is 8 months pregnant. Your thought about daylight saving time?

I did some “preliminary” shopping yesterday. Took a neighbor to do a little of her shopping. She does not drive. But I rambled around the stores getting a few ideas. Go back when my time is my own!
On that note, do you have a lot of people you give gifts too?

Not a whole lot. My family does a Secret Santa exchange, and I buy something for Dad and his wife, DH, and a few friends. I lost the vote this year: The family wants to do stocking stuffers again. I really am trying to rid my life of random material things, but whatever. Pick my battles I guess. Do you have a special annual traditional Thanksgiving/Christmas recipe?

I'm thinking about 2020. The plan was to retire but that's not going to happen. Maybe into 2021, we'll see. Once again my plan will be one change a month. Bring breakfast to work every day in January. February bring lunch to work maybe two or three times a week. what I do in one month I roll over into the next. Slow to change and baby steps. Slow and steady wins the race!
How's the Xmas shopping going?

Christmas gifts are usually very simple, consumable items, if any, for family (other than my son, nieces, and nephew, I try to do something more fun for them). After my Sweden trip this last spring, I decided to give lingonberry jam to everyone for their gift this year (I didn't bring it home though, I found out they sold it at Ikea, so got it there!). I also found little "tomtes" (gnomes) on amazon, that look similar to the ones I saw in Sweden. So, they'll get the jar wrapped up, and the tomte will be part of the wrapping (can be used as an ornament or whatever) along with a little story about the tomte mythology.
My son found a shotgun (50s?) that he wanted, so I went ahead and let him buy it for his Christmas present this year. He'll probably get a few little things, but that's the "big gift", since money is tight this year.
Not sure what I'll do for the nieces and nephew, but those will be simple as well. (ETA: I just found out I can buy Duke Cannon soap locally, so I'll get some of that for my nephew since it's kind of fun. I'll see if they have any similar fun stuff for the nieces.)
I also have some goals for 2020 that I'm working on, but everything keeps falling apart around me!
The big ones:
Have the property cleaned up and get the deed (I've hired someone to clean it for much less than expected, and I have my attorney working on the deed).
Get a trailer to live in on the property part time (a quilting friend is trying to sell a trailer for much less than it is worth, still a stretch, but I'm trying to save everything I can to make it happen).
Get the well and electric back up and running on the property.
Replace my HVAC unit (heat works, AC doesn't, and the fix at this point would not be worth the expense).
All I need is money!
What is the first thing you'd tackle on your "I need more money" list, if you had some magic snowflake money come in?

Depends on how much it was. If a significant amount, I'd replace the flooring on the main floor. If even more $$, the basement floors as well. Are you a DYIer, do you hire someone, or somewhere in the middle when it comes to projects and repairs?

My PC was bought in 2010 I think without looking. Still on Win 7. (possible purchase coming soon )(I've updated iPads on this end so PC is way over due)
On that note, do you have any plans to update electronic devices within next 6 months? If so which devices?

No plans to update but electronics have a mind of their own ........... grrrrrrrrrrr A year ago I was 'forced' into an upgrade on my phone and tried to find the smallest I could. I carry my phone in my pocket so large ones are not for me. I use phone for (horrors) actual phone calls, texts, camera.
Desk top is May 2016 and was cleaned up a couple months ago. DH likes new gadgets but I will avoid the learning curve if I can.
What kind of perfume do you wear?
