Unfortunately yes ….. hubby got it and we don't order often enough to make it cost effective. But I find it's easier to just agree with him than start an argument. At 80 yrs old he still get pouty and whiney. How old do DHs have to get before they start acting like adults?

Nope. I staff our cat rescue adoption center EVERY Friday, and every other Saturday.
Do you have a cat?

I used to, but haven't in years. Don't seem to get into the decorating like I used to. We've even let some years go without putting up a tree.
Any vacations planned for next year? (I just booked a spontaneous trip to Sweden!)

I have a vacation in the planning stages. France, in April.
Do you have any other social events planned for the weekend, or was Thanksgiving enough?

On Friday, I helped staff our cat adoption center. On Saturday, I helped staff our cat adoption center. On Sunday, I got to drive my wonderful DH to the airport, and then did online cat rescue stuff. (I lead an exciting life, I know) From a winter decor standpoint, would you rather have penguins or snowmen?

Does taking time off to move into a new house count as vacation?
How many times have you moved in your life?

I've moved three times, but each time was only a few blocks east of my previous location (from family home to a small rental for a year, to first home I bought, to second home I bought). I now live 27 blocks (2.1 miles) east of the house I grew up in. Hopefully I have one more move in my life, unless I end up in assisted living as an ancient.
If you could pick a foreign country to live in for the rest of your life, what one would you pick? (Cannot be your current country).

Austria …….. Gastein Valley in particular. The area is beautiful, people friendly. Winter weather could be a problem at times, but a train runs through there. Not too far from Vienna where you can find all the arts you would want.
What is your favorite part of the holiday season between Thanksgiving and New Years? Family? Food? Music? Decorations? Good will? Helping others? etc

I had to think about that one... I like it all, but if I had to pick my favorite, it would be the fun "secrets" of buying a special something (or an experience) for people. Not for the materialistic part, but the I-saw-this-and-thought-of-you-guess-what-it-is part. Do you drive/walk around to look at neighborhood Christmas decorations?

Yes and no. I don't take a trip specifically to look at the neighborhood Christmas decorations, but I do vary my trip home to see as many different streets as I can. I live in a city where electricity is rather cheap and as a result there are lots and lots of lights.
Aside from home, in which city anywhere in the world you like to celebrate Xmas?

Not so much a city, but I'd love to spend a Christmas in a Bavarian forest or the Alps.
Did you reach any goals you had set for yourself recently?

No safe deposit box. I used to have one, where I kept my will and a copy of my advance directives. When I moved out of the area, I cleaned out the box, and haven't gotten one in my new location.
Are you someone who gets up in the morning and immediately gets ready for the day, or do you take a few hours to gear up?
I set my alarm early so I can enjoy coffee, check the news, and take care of the dog before I hit the shower and get ready for the day.

It depends on the day. If I'm heading to work on a day shift, I get up and get ready, since 4:30 am is too early to be awake anyway. On nights, it depends on what time I wake up. Sometimes I'm awake way too early, other times I sleep until my alarm goes off at 4:30 pm.
At home, it also depends. My preference is to lay in bed a bit, get up and make coffee, and just lounge for a while. However, if I want it to be a productive day, I usually need to get up and get moving immediately.
How do you think you fared on guessing tax withholdings this year?

Fairly accurate. DH used to work for H&R and he keeps up with the tax code as well as he can. He does extimated taxes and we are careful about the taxes taken out of RMDs. He has talked about going back to classes next year so he can work again in the business.
Speaking of taxes, have you thought about how the new standard deductions are going to affect your 2019 taxes?
The new standard deduction will almost double and that is both good news and bad for a lot of businesses and charitable organizations.

I have thought about the new standard deduction and how it will impact us, personally. I coordinate fundraising for a 501c3 nonprofit and I can say that giving has been DOWN this year. Significantly down.
Will you stay up 'til midnight on New Year's Eve?

I don't do new year's resolutions, so no and no! However, because of a different tax situation if my son doesn't attend school full-time this year, I've had to readjust my budget and savings goals, so you could put "try to stick to that even better this year" if you want.
Have you bought anything for yourself this year? (I made an unplanned nerd t-shirt purchase, but it was within my clothing budget.)

Hmmm... different question... Would you think it would be weird to ask your dentist for help removing a tiny metal sliver from the tip of your index finger? I mean, if you had tried to get it out yourself without ripping up your finger, and you were going to a dentist appointment this afternoon anyway?
Asking for a friend, of course!
