Didn't get any exercise in this weekend, as my parents were here, and lost a bit of my self control at poker night Saturday. back on the horse today, though! And I still tracked everything I ate!

Ok, I want to cry. Up 3lbs from my start today. Anyone else gain weight when they went off BCPs? I was really hoping not to gain anything until after I got pregnant. SMH

Sam - Yeah I gained like 30 lbs when I went off of BCP. It probably would have been worse it I hadn't broken up with a boyfriend around then and been too upset to eat for like 2 weeks too.
So I was afraid my weight would be up this week (that is probably the subconscious reason behind my forgetting to weigh in all weekend - I finally was able to remember to do so this morning) as I have been hungry non-stop and eating everything in sight or so it seems. Just yesterday I realized half of my hunger was due to the fact that I had slowly decreased my water consumption to nil without realizing it. So, while I am thankfully still down (1.4 lbs even!), I am going to make an effort to drink more water - increasing by one or two cups a day until I hit 8-10 glasses.

sam - that's totally normal. your body is just adjusting. I gained a few in fall 2011 when I went off them. It'll probably mess with me when I go back on them too.

I broke down a crapload of boxes last night. And when I was done, I did NOT have a beer or a snack, even though I wanted one. I folded laundry instead. I ate way to much at dinner. I made a stir fry of sorts with parsnips, carrots, cabbage, celery, yellow pepper and green onions. And precooked shrimp. Used some olive oil and water to cook it in. I ate mine over noodles. And after I had 2 helpings I remembered I'd made acorn squash and at that too. So much for portion control... Oh well, it was at least kinda healthy.

I need a dinner idea, please. I have 850 calories left for the day (119carb/27fat/30protein, if that matters) and I am dairy-free right now, and had sushi for lunch. I am not at all hungry, even for a snack at this point, and could really just say the hell with it and go to bed early. can y'all help with a suggestion? wow, re-reading that, I'm turning into my mother

chiver - i'm sorry i didn't check the board sooner to see your request. of course my go-to fast dinner would consist of salad. once you add tomatoes, avacado, nuts, & dressing the calories add up. it's boring but easy. i hope you found something good to eat.

I did, actually. thanks! I stopped at the grocery store on my way home from work, and I ended up getting about 1/4lb of salmon that I baked off with a baste of tamari soy sauce. while that was cooking, I did up a batch of vegetable fried rice with some leftover rice and a bunch of veggies I picked up for my salads. MyFitnessPal estimates about 550 calories for the pair.
I've got a few go-to recipes too, my problem right now is that all of them contain dairy in one form or another. they really don't help at the moment lol....

I totally failed on this week. Week 2: 2/5. I guess I still have today to make up one more. Oh well, tomorrow starts a new week My friend and I started jogging again two nights a week. We are signing up for a 5k (not sure which one - shooting for March), an 8k Trolly Run in April, and the Plaza 10k in September. Anyone in the KC area want to join in on the races? We could quite literally be the WIR-Racers

I've lost 7 lbs, so that's good, but I'm feeling kind of sick right now. I think I have a cold. I like to drink lots of juice when I'm sick, empty calories, but it's all the liquids I can keep down. Does anyone else here gain weight when they are sick?

I was worn out by the end of the warm up. And now my legs are all shaky so I know I have worked them. I need some encouragement to continue. I usually get enthused about a new program and then lose interest. I don't want to do that this time.

ilovedolphins - it does get better, I promise. My favorite thing to do is line up with the tv so that when I am doing the punches, I am punching Jillian in the face. Not really nice, but it helps Just remember - change is painful. But so worth it! You can do it

Thanks for the words of encouragement. Great idea with the punches. It was definitely the longest 20 minutes I have experienced lately. Tomorrow I think I will walk on my treadmill since I am on the night shift and I have to survive that. Then try it again Friday morning before work.

Lots of water, ibuprofen or tylenol before bed, and stretch well! That will help combat most of the soreness. Every other day is probably best for starting out You can do it!!!

Today was Wednesday, so it was time to weigh in again. I wasn't looking forward to it because DH and I traveled to see DS2 and his fiancé for the weekend. Which meant we ate out every meal. I did do a lot of walking while shopping. So after that weekend, I am happy with a .5 lb loss. It's not much but after loosing 6 lbs last week I'll take a half-pound this week. So, now my goal is to control my eating and loose another 2 lbs this next week.

I've been trying to drag myself out of my cozy warm bed in the morning to go to the gym before work, today I finally did it. I didn't do much, just a half hour on a recumbent bike while reading a book. still, 125 calories burned, and hopefully it helps me get back on track

Does lifting my 42+ lb. child over my head count as exercise? I hold him by the hips/tummy area and lift up. How high we go and how long depends on how much he can giggle and hold still...

Well, I can walk this morning but am sore. The exercises on the 30 day shred aren't all that difficult but I just have to build up my stamina. Am looking forward to the next workout.

Jogged 3.75 miles last night with a friend in 50 minutes (we had a couple walking breaks in there). Wish I had a treadmill at home so I could jog after DD goes to bed. Oh well, maybe I can sneak out this weekend and go to the gym a bit.

Great job jogging, Sam!! Running/jogging is something I could never do - my tongue turns numb after about a quarter mile. I have crappy lung capacity so I blame that.
ilovedolphins - keep up the great work!! the only exercises I really suck at in 30 Day shred are the ones involving planks, which Level 2 has a lot of, but i keep trying! It hurts my shoulders.
Week 3: 1/5 workouts. And about to do my second now the babies are napping and I ate lunch. Giving it a few minutes to settle then I'll do it.
Weighed in today and up 0.2 pounds so basically I stayed the same. I've set a mini goal of losing 2 pounds this week. I need to do better with my food choices - I kind of slacked this week after having such a great first week weigh-in last weekend. Of course, after my weigh-in I went to dunkin donuts. BUT I only got 2 donuts instead of the 6 I'd planned on, and I've only eaten one of them so far. Might save the second for tomorrow morning. I just really wanted donuts and it's been months since I had them. Plus it's next to the WW store. So tempting...

DH did an exercise video with me, yay! I felt obligated to complete it because he was there. We did power 90 and I really like it.

Anne congrats on the 7lbs and hope you feel better soon.
I am down 4lbs, but had a screaming migraine yesterday and didn't really eat much. Hopefully it will stay gone, but I should be able to make my 5lbs a month goal for this month.

Well, I'm down another .6 lbs. Not much, but the scale is heading in the right direction. Oddly enough I lost more weight when I was hungry and eating everything in sight, yet this week I was not all that hungry so I didn't eat as much. I suppose I also didn't drink enough water - I'm still working on that. Wednesday I had about 22 oz., Thursday I had 50 oz., Friday was 30 oz., and today I've only gotten in 8 oz. so far. I'm going to drink my fill tonight and get it up to at least 30 oz., if not more!! I can totally tell the difference in how much water I've drank based on how much milk I pump. I should just put a sticker of a water bottle on my DD's outfit to remind me to drink more, lol!

3 weeks = 3 lbs down. Not much, but better than nothing. And, now for the somewhat better news: I'm still walking up those 4 flights of stairs. Multiple times a day now, and it is getting easier just not easy enough yet.
