I didn't start the 30 Day Shred yesterday because I didn't get to bed until 3am on NYE and the babies were up at 7:30 so I was just exhausted. But I did just do it today! I feel like jelly, but I also feel great in that painful post-workout kind of way. I might have to have Blue_wagon bring the babies down from their nap though. I don't trust my legs on the stairs just yet...
Workout: 1/5
My other big goal is to actually track my food on the WW website. I haven't gone to a meeting yet because I need to get Blue_wagon to watch the babies for me to go and he's still working. But I can at least track!
We can do this, ladies! Welcome to the newbies!

I completed Day 1 of 30 day shred. That chick is nuts!!! LOL. I hope I will be able to walk tomorrow. How do you log that on MFP? Should I just do 30 minutes of cardio? I have been drinking lots of water today though. As far as measurements go, I will try to get to those soon. I never knew exactly where I should measure (natural waist, around my belly button, etc...), so I always measured like 15 different places! As long as I measured exactly the same place, I could tell if I went down any.

Well, I've done pretty good for 2 days now. I did just cave and am drinking half a can of coke. This is my last night of work and I needed a pick me up.
I'm on MFP too if anyone wants to friend me. My user name there is P8nt also.
Thanks for letting me join in.

My Fitness Pal - its a free calorie and workout tracker. I've never used WW but from what I hear it is very similar.
Sam 814: Week one - 2/5
Tonight's workout was brutal. My bum hurts. And I went out with SIL tonight for a girl's night out. Just plugged in my dinner - 2,000 calories just for the meal! Holy cow. That's probably a better reason to not go out to dinner than the $$ cost. Ouch!

I weighed in this morning. 201.5.
Today's goal - drink water, treadmill tonight and be mindful of what I eat.

Wow, so I just realized that 1/1 was not a Wednesday (this whole time I was thinking it was). I need some sleep! Sorry about that.
So sore today. And I forgot my lunch so it looks like I will be living off oatmeal and canned soup today.

I have a "forced fitness regime" for this week. The elevator at work is out so that means slogging up 4 flights of stairs to get to my desk. Boy, am I out of shape. You should hear me wheezing when I get to my desk, LOL.

Haha, joss. By the end of the week you will be much more used to it. Maybe you should resolve to use the stairs this whole year

I don't feel quite as jelly-like as I did yesterday. And I'm eating a banana right now for a snack. Woo!
I should do measurements too. Need to find my measuring tape...

hi all! i'm back!! thanks sug for starting the 2013 thread. i have a goal of being at or below 200 by june. i had some good learning experiences since august & i'm using what i learned about myself & using the accountability of this thread to reach my goal. i had a small setback with a back injury & the holidays and gained 4 pounds over 2 weeks & lost 2 pounds since dec 31. i like using the racers tagline method as it helps me see where i started compared to where i am. for the new year i'm starting over with a new one. i ended 2012 with a 17 pound lost so this motivates me best. here is my starting tagline: jdnstl 240 lbs 1/3/13 (240 lbs 1/3/13)welcome to the newbies!! i hope you find this thread encouraging & helpful in your personal goals. red & sam - i'll join your little challenge. i have that DVD but i prefer going to the Y so i'll post for the days i purposefully workout. jdnstl - 1/5 daily workouts the other accountable thing i'm doing is emailing my daily food intake to my BFF. she's sending me hers too because it's real easy to slack on that when trying to do it myself. today is gonna be bad because of the sugar craving & 3 cookies i ate. shoutout to miz bear! did you change your screen name?

This week is not off to the great start I had hoped. It is hard to go down to the employee gym and work out on your lunch break when you don't get one. I did eat my sandwich and my orange at my desk. I was down 1.8lbs this morning so that is good. Please ignore the empty ice cream dish that is sitting next to the computer.

Sharon - nothing wrong with little treats, as long as everything you eat isn't a treat! Yay for being down 1.8!
jdnstl - mizbear got hacked or something so she changed her passwords/name I believe, and is gone for a few days as she clears it all up.
I like the racing tagline. I'll use pounds I have left to lose.

Banker Gurl 1/1/13 179.5lbs So far I am happy with the first few days of the year. I started a new round of Biggest Loser at work, there are 7 of us, so that is a possible $70 to help motivate me! January is the busiest time of year for my work, lots of OT, but need to make time for excercise! I wrote down my steps to help me and taped them to my monitor. -Fastfood breakfast once a month -Eating out lunch once a week -Eating out dinner once a week -Only one pop per day -One treat per week -Excercise a minimum, 30 min, 3 times per week It is very hard for me to only have one pop per day. But made it 3 days in a row! Also have not gone out to eat at all. Work supplied danishes and a hot chocolate bar (whipped cream, carmel, sprinkles, etc) the last few days. I ate -0- of it. ;D At one point in time I put a danish on a plate and sat down to eat it. I looked at it for a min, picked it up and threw it away. Made me very happy. I DO have WILL POWER! I haven't had my weekly treat yet, danish will not be it! Thinking a kitkat...mmmm. Tonight I was still hungry after a small dinner, wanted a frozen burrito, but opted for a bowl of oatmeal and a glass of milk. Smart choices are being made! Now to implement the excercise portion!

You're a better person than me. I opted for the generic Fruit Loops the kids picked out for a treat over the holidays. And I did nothing. Today goals: 1. drink lots of water. 2. no snacks. 3. treadmill while 1st load of laundry is going. *-*-*- I don't do the racer thing. CAn someone explain the tagline system for me? Edited to clarify question.

Well lets just say I had an eyeful of myself today. Thank heavens for clothes. There was a big mirror in the dressing room of the clinic at the hospital. I need to get my butt in some serious gear.

Hopefully this weekend I can actually write down some concrete goals. We are scheduled for wedding dress shopping, that should be a good motivator.
I am down 2lbs so far.

I used ticker factory to make a weight loss ticker for my siggy.
I feel like I'm off to a good start this week - I waited until my mom left town. I cooked a veggie frittata to have for breakfast this week. Trying to get enough water in.

I'm back...
This weight HAS to go, my knees and my Blood Sugar will love me for it!
I don't eat Red Meat anymore (not a "I wont eat red meat" thing.. just cant face it) I was limiting myself to 1 sprite, then stopped that (till last night and omg I feel bad today) Same with OJ - more sugar than Sprite! No more Caffeine.
I track my morning blood sugar, and document EVERYTHING I eat, If I snack, its celery, or carrots. I am making SURE I do snack, fruit, veggies, morning and afternoon.
Lost 5 over Christmas (??) having problems losing more, basically doing low impact/no impact exercise.
My family in the UK are on this 5/2 diet and are reporting great results.
5 days eat as usual, 2 days of your choosing, stay under 500/600 calories.
My brother said hes doing Tues/Thurs, because he is busy those days and doesnt have time to think about it lol

Went to the gym today! Did 30 min on the eliptical, nothing crazy, but it's a start. Going again tomorrow and plan to go M-W-F and then once on the weekends from now on. Yesterday I had my treat for the week, a kit kat bar...mmmm... But then today I had my weekly eating out lunch, went to Quiznos, only ate half my sandwich (turkey with lots of veggies) but then I had a coupon for a free kids cookie. TOTALLY forgot I am only supposed to have one treat a week and ate the delicious cookie. After words I was sitting there and looked at the wrapper and was like DOH! You can't have that! Guess my brain is still in training. At least I realized afterwards and didn't just mow by the mistake. My DH is a runner, he went to college on scholarship for cross country and track, and now he is a HS coach for both. He is also trying to lose some weight (he is 5'11 and weighs a miniscule 149 and this is the heaviest he has ever weighed, feel free to hate him for this, I do ) and goes to the gym with me. That helps me get off my butt and go. Of course while I am mosing along on the eliptical he is busy running 4 miles....lol.

Ok, so I stepped on he scale yesterday and I need to lose at least 12lbs this year ( this will be my baseline), and it will put me 1.5lbs past my stated goal. Walking up those stairs for a year might help me get here if it doesn't kill me first

Hi Redwagon and Bankergirl! I would like to join your challenge for the rest of the month. About two years ago, I lost 18 pounds and kept it off. This involved a lifestyle change whereby I try my best to manage portion size. No food is off my list, but I try to be careful of how I eat. So yes, I will eat cheesecake if I want it, but instead of a whole piece, I may take the teeniest sliver. In fact, I rarely say no to any food that I like. Whole grains and vegetables are a staple and I try to cook homemade food from scratch at home as much as possible. We eat out once a week, but DH and I divide the entree (big servings at most restaurants), or I ask them to pack half of my meal for takeout and not even bring it to the table until the bill comes if I order my own entree. The only thing that has dropped off my radar is exercise. I know that I should to improve my metabolic rate and overall health so here I am ready to take the plunge. My activity will be my exercise bike and/or another activity with my family. We have set a weekly family fitness day, where we do an activity as a family. In the past, this has included bowling, treetop trekking, skiing, hiking, tobogganing, etc. The kids love it and it keeps us tight as a family. My go to site is www.sparkpeople.com. I love its positive and motivational emphasis on lifestyle change, community, blogging, tracking and education. For the last two years, it has kept me on the straight and narrow. So, my hope is to lose an additional 20 pounds by August (my 20th school reunion). This will place me in the middle of my BMI. I will not track the weight however, I will just track the exercise. My overall goal is just to be healthier for me and my family, and I believe that the exercise will get me there. Today's activity was skiing with my husband. I am a terrible new skier capable of only skiing the easiest green slope (which I did today for about an hour). So, week 1 is 1/5 for exercise.
