Home health care nurse came. Incision are healing fine. One that I need to watch. Big scar is over 10 inches long. They helped me shower and I feel so much better.
Suggested sleeping on couch for a while since it's easier for me to get out of. We'll see how much sleep I get tonight.

Slept on couch per home health care nurse's instructions. Felt weird. Niece and family came by to clean cat box. Also had her look at one incision as it seeped overnight. Put antibiotic cream and clean bandage on it. Will check later and she said she can stop by this evening. Thankful for my niece not giving me crap like my sister did yesterday. I didn't asked for the open surgery nor did I do anything to cause it. Now it's ruining her life and it didn't even happen to her. Sad because a young girl in the Boulder, CO area who got ovarian cancer at age 2 passed away last night at age 12. Long journey for her and her family.

That makes me sad, too, Theo.
Hopefully you will keep healing.... and your sister will learn not to be so self-absorbed.
I did 4 loads of laundry today. Sweeping. Cleaning. Changed sheets. Changed Clocks. Filled bird feeders. Fed squirrels their peanuts. Scrubbed the kitchen sink.
Dinner tonight (and tomorrow) was potatoes, carrots, corned beef and cabbage. Getting in the spirit!

Hopefully you will keep healing.... and your sister will learn not to be so self-absorbed. I don't think at her age, she is going to change. Even my niece, her daughter, thinks she is being ridiculous. Said so right in front of her kids, my sister's grandchildren who are 10 and 12 so it isn't like they don't know what is being said. Area where we put the antibiotic cream yesterday looked much better this morning. I put more cream and changed bandage. Going to be snowed in and on my own until some time tomorrow or Tuesday. Tuesday is when home health care nurse returns. Thanks for all the kind thoughts.

We're forecast for the mid-80s on Tuesday. I sure hope we haven't skipped Spring and moved directly on to summer. I tried the pool today. The outside, un-heated pool. (Yes, I'm insane) Any way, ridiculously frigid. Did some grocery shopping today. Bought 5 large bags of peanuts in the shell, 8 packages of already-hardboiled eggs, and an avocado. The cashier gave me weird looks about this combo. heh heh heh. (Peanuts were for the squirrels) After 2 days/4 meals of corned beef and cabbage, I'm thoroughly tired of corned beef and cabbage, lol. I did another load of laundry this weekend (sheets). That's 5 loads in 2 days.

The company that DH has been working for suddenly closed last night. It wasn't a regular job, he was on -call but he enjoyed it and is devastated now.

Peace77 that is too bad about your DH's job. Hopefully he will find another one right away. We are now through day 3 of actual construction on the pantry. Today and tomorrow are the drywall days. My kitchen floor is covered with heavy brown paper and we are running 2 fans and a space heater. It is really humid in there from the heat and the drying "mud" from the drywall work. It also smells and is giving me a headache. Oreo is just down right pissed over the whole thing and she was throwing and out and out temper tantrum earlier this evening. They get locked in the bedroom all day when the construction guys are here. They have a litter box, food and water in my bathroom and the bed to sleep on but she is mad about being locked up. Tonight I didn't move the food from the bathroom back to the kitchen and that was the final straw for her. It seemed pointless since I would just need to move it again in the morning.

I hope DH finds another job soon too.
He applied a few weeks ago for an adjunct professor job -- teaching 1 or 2 classes but the college,is on spring break so he won't be hearing anything this week.
He's feeling better today. It helps that he already got a response to one of the jobs he just applied for.

What ever they were using today for the drywall and texturing smells even worse than yesterday. Think something along the lines of 1 million of those really strong markers being uncapped at the same time. Tonight I have a sore throat in addition to a headache. Tomorrow is painting day. The contractors paint guy will come and primer and then later in the day I will paint the inside of the pantry. Then we will be ready on Thursday to start with shelves etc and the finish work.

I moderate a Dave Ramsey group on Facebook. It's pretty sad that I just had to delete a comment and make a post that people should NOT suggest forgery or other crimes. (Sheesh)
It was 87 here today. Oh my gosh ... I am not ready for hot, yet. It's MARCH.
I am almost out of hummus (gasp), so I will be venturing forth for hummus and bananas Wednesday or Thursday.
Tomorrow is payday, so I wrote some checks out tonight. Will do more tomorrow. Woop! Woop!

Hard to believe that someone would suggest forgery.
Technically, my former MIL did it for many years. She would sign FIL's pay checks and cash them. One pay day, she wasn't available so FIL signed his check himself and tried to cash it. The bank wouldn't allow it because it didn't match the signature they had for the account.

My first permanent job out of high school was a clerk typist for the federal government. We got our paychecks at our desks back then and had to take them to the bank.
The men traveled a lot, probably 85% of the time, so the secretary of the group would deposit all of their checks. Before the federal building was built, they had been in the same building as the bank so I don't know what kind of arrangements had been made because she was the only one who did this.

I can remember for years my Dad would sign his paycheck and hand it to Mom. She would go down to the bank and deposit it and get some cash back. Maybe they would still allow it on a joint account but I'm not sure.

I have had people deposit paychecks for me when I was going to be out of town. It always worked. They just can't get any cash back.
Surgeon released me today. All the staples are gone. Got to hear again what a difficult surgery my gallbladder removal was.

I am not saying that the occasional spousal/familial forgery doesn't occur in the real world ~ but I certainly wouldn't suggest forgery as an option in a Facebook forum when dealing with getting someone's name (not a relative) off a vehicle title. Someone actually suggested forgery. This deployment feels almost as long as that giraffe has been giving birth I can survive 22 more days, right? Jack (bad cat! bad cat!) did not come in last night, so was out all night. When I saw him in the backyard this morning, THEN he came in and slept for hours on the Catio. (bad cat! bad cat!) Anyway, when he wandered over around 7pm tonight, I lured him in and he's stuck inside for the next 13 hours or so.... he's currently wandering around and growling at Cheeto who keeps tackling him. Anyway, I feel much better knowing he's inside. (I explained to him that the first day of Spring isn't until Tuesday, but I don't think he cares.) Petco adoption center tomorrow and Saturday. Dinner out tomorrow night with friends. We've got some rain in the 10-day forecast, possibly.

Thank you for the birthday greetings. I may be older, but I'm as immature as ever Two very quiet, boring days at the Adoption Center. Got in some nice pets and cuddles, but no adoptions. Went out for Thai food with some friends for dinner last night. Had leftovers tonight. That's TWO free dinners. All is well with my wonderful DH. Paid some bills today.

Just listened to my women's basketball team win a game in the WNIT that I didn't think they could win. Their next game is about 90 minutes from me and I can't go.

I am sorry you can't go to the game ~ I am glad you're enjoying the tournament.
I spent the day in my jammies, binging on Neflix (House of Cards, Season 1) and had dinner delivered. It was delightfully decadent and relaxing.
No sign of Jack tonight ... but the overnight temps are mid-50s and it's still nearly 70 at 9:45p. We have thunderstorms forecast for Tuesday and Wednesday.... what a welcome for Spring, huh?

Thanks, Molly. If I go see them in Colorado, it's about a 13 hour drive. This would be 90 minutes. However, I would have to sign myself off the home health care nurse and I don't think I am strong enough to drive 90 minutes, walk from parking lot to venue, attend the game, walk to car and drive home. I know last Thursday was way too much for me.
Yes, I am stronger now than I was then but I haven't passed the you can't shower without somebody in the house stage.
I am pulling my trash to the curb this evening. I skipped 2 weeks and I can not let it go another week. I can't carry the recycling yet. Weight is over my limit.
Hope Jack came home.
