My wonderful DH is installing my phone into my phone case as we speak. The charger hasn't come from Amazon, yet. We had a rainy weekend ~ with more coming over the next 7 days. I'm still battling a cold that started on Sunday. So I'm on Day #3.

I haven't joined the smart phone party yet but will be soon. If I have a smartphone and this special app, that provides the top secret code, I can take my lap top home and work from home if it looks like the weather is going to be really bad. Yesterday's commute brought unexpected ice and was really nasty. I saw a car in the ditch. We got word today that another lady who works there, I didn't know her and had never met her, ended up in the river. They are working on pulling her vehicle from the river, no word yet on if she was in the vehicle or not.
You need a smart phone, if only for the bad weather option. That is terrifying about your coworker. I hope she’s okay.

Lucy is still enjoying her tissue paper.
The sun may be shining but it's ridiculously cold and windy. Don't plan to leave the house until tomorrow.

I cut off the heads of the sunflowers (and left them/seeds for the birds and squirrels) and then pulled out the half-dozen or so that had lasted this long. Tomorrow I will need to fill up bird feeders ~ especially the finch feeders. The gardeners come tomorrow ~ so I will probably will wait for them to come and go before doing that. It's a "super drill" for my wonderful DH ~ so he'll be working solidly Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday.... and he'll be out the door at 6:30am every morning. (Better him than me!) Friday is a Petco Adoption Center Day for me, but it's NOT my Petco Saturday. I was able to go online and get his pay stub for his Jan 15 paycheck (the first one of the year). I have his Thrift Savings Plan deductions front-loaded for the first part of the year ... he's got $750 a pay period going to catch-up his TSP (he's over 50, so he gets to put in an extra $6,000 a year)... plus he's got $1,100 a pay period going toward the $19,000 he can put in a year. It will take 4 months for the catch-up part to finish ... then his checks will be $750 more! And his regular TSP contributions go until Sept 15.... then he'll get another $1,000 a pay period (which we use to help pay for our property taxes due in November/December.)
We dropped off our tax stuff at the accountant's today. He can't file for a while, but it's now off MY "To do" list!

I keep track of my tax stuff on an Excel spreadsheet throughout the year. The returns are completed but can't be filed.
I also don't like to file them until I am able to download the source documents, like my 1099-R.
Iowa is doing it's own Schedule A for itemized deductions since so many people will be taking the standard deduction on the federal but will itemize on the state. I'm one of those people. That form isn't available until January 31. At least they are working so that might happen.

I have made my appt with the accountant for mid- February, usually it is the beginning of Feb but with changing jobs, do a re-fi and a 401K rollover I wanted more time to make sure I had everything I needed.
